In this respect, this paper will generalise the fundamental knowledge of the advertisement including its definition, objective, and writing principles. This is followed by an analysis on language features based on vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and rhetorical devices. However, the main thrust of the thesis is not devoted to a purely linguistic study. Rather, building on the theoretical reflections of equivalent theory and cultural conversion, this paper attempts to find the joint reflecting the similar functions of both English and Chinese. Therefore, This thesis will not confine itself simply to a list of language features but rather go further and crack the ＂hard nut＂--how to tackle translation in advertisements. Little ink, as the case stands, has been spilled over this crux. Taking into consideration the distinctive functions and stylistic features of advertisement, general principles that highlight the qualities of awareness, understanding, conviction, and action will be offered. Based on these general principles, tactics both regular and strategic are tentatively offered. As is often the case, a translator walking on a tightrope plays dual roles： a submissive servant and a defiant master. In this sense, it is proposed that a blend of regular and strategic tactics should be employed in pursuit of an optimum transfer of information.展开更多

It demonstrates that such interactions with the rest of the world are trying to establish some semiotic functions, in an effort behaviorally to overcome the children＇s disability. The author＇s aim is to analyze such a paradoxical way of communicational interaction of such a subject vs. a given objectively perceivable reality, thus attempting to reveal paradoxical social contexts. The focus is on interpersonal communication abilities and/or disabilities, thus allowing semiotically distinguishable units as an object of analysis. The problem of mental disorders, such as ASD, requires a multi-dimensional approach--e.g., biological, medical, and other related fields. In conclusion, by applying a semiotic analysis, it becomes necessary to communicate with such children in a whole new way which, by processes of transformation, can bring about a state of awareness of a paradoxical and/or abnormal phenomenon.展开更多

The Dbrahe par...In this note we make a test of the open topological string version of the OSV conjecture in the toric Calabi-Yau manifold X = O（-3） → P^2 with background D4-branes wrapped on Lagrangian submanifolds. The Dbrahe partition function reduces to an expectation value of some inserted operators of a q-deformed Yang Mills theory living on a chain of P^1 ＇s in the base p2 of X. At large N this partition function can be written as a sum over squares of chiral blocks, which are related to the open topological string amplitudes in the local p2 geometry with branes at both the outer and inner edges of the toric diagram. The paper introduces initial notions on applying linguistic criteria as the basic ones in the process of creating ME textbooks. Through the historical development and under the influence of extra linguistic factors （globalization of the shipping industry, in particular）, ME has accumulated and stored various resources being in current use： vocabulary, grammar and phonology, operational and semiotic systems, specific means of communication, functional models, patterns of narration and description, etc.. The proper linguistic analysis makes a secure foundation for methodology which can guarantee a better quality of ME course books for the 1st and 2nd year maritime students all over the world.展开更多
In a meandering fiver, a certain scale of turbulent vortex dominates the development of fiver morphology, making the river bend with s particular curvature. This kind of vortex is denoted as ＂bend-forming vortex＂. T...In a meandering fiver, a certain scale of turbulent vortex dominates the development of fiver morphology, making the river bend with s particular curvature. This kind of vortex is denoted as ＂bend-forming vortex＂. The coordinated relationship of bend-forming vortex and meandering fiver channel is then known as ＂self-adaption feature＂ of rivers. With these two concepts, this paper investigated the stability and self-adaption character of coherent vortex in the U-shape river bend with a constant curvature. On the basis of fluid mechanics theory and in consideration of turbulent coherent vortex as disturbance, the growth rate and the wave number response range of coherent vortex in meandering rivers with different curvatures were calculated in this paper. Moreover, the responses of different scales of coherent turbulence structure to river bend parameters were analyzed to explain the mechanism of fiver bend maintenance. These methods could provide a theoretical basis for further investigation on fiver meandering.展开更多
