A molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is carried out to analyze the effect of cutting edge radius,cutdepth, and grinding speed on the depth of subsurface damage layers in monocrystal silicon grinding processes on an atomic scale. The results show that when the cutting edge radius decreases in the nanometric grinding process with the same cut-depth and grinding speed, the depth of the damage layers and the potential energy between the silicon atoms decrease too. Also, when the cut depth increases, both the depth of the damage layers and the potential energy between silicon atoms increase. When the grinding speed is between 20 and 200m/s,the depth of the damage layers does not change much with the increase of the grinding speed under the same cutting edge radius and cut depth conditions. This means that the MD simulation is not sensitive to changes in the grinding speed, and thus increasing the grinding speed properly can shorten the sion,the subsurface damage of monocrystal silicon is silicon atoms, which is verified by the ultra-precision simulation time and enlarge the simulation scale. Using tools of Simulink, the transient characteristics during the vehicle starting, including the jerk and the clutch slip time, are provided here. Methods \ In the light of basic theory of multibody system dynamics and impact dynamics on the basis of classical theory of impact, R W method is adopted to construct the vehicle occupant system model consisting of fourteen rigid bodies, thirty seven DOFs and slip joints for the simulation. A software named SVC3D(3 dimensional simulation of vehicle crash) is developed in the FORTRAN language. Results\ The results of simulation have a good coincidence with those of tests and the restraint system with low elongation webbing and equipped with pretensioner provides better restraint effect for the occupant. Conclusion\ The model of vehicle occupant multibody system and SVC3D are suitable for use. Occupant should be belted with low elongation webbing to a certain degree and occupant restraint system should be equipped with pretensioner. 展开更多

The model can synthetically describe the dynamic behavior of the load of slewing crane in rotating, elevating and hoisting motions. The dynamic equations of the system are recursively derived by a Newton Euler method. The dynamic behavior of the load of slewing crane in rotating motion is simulated on a computer. The method of robotic dynamics to derive the dynamic equations of the swing of load is accurate and convenient and it has good regularity. The result of the study provides a base in theory on design of crane and an accurate mathematical model for controlling the swing of load. 展开更多

By using ABAQUS/Explicit, the dynamic process of an offshore wind turbine(OWT) stricken by a ship of 5000DWT in the front direction is simulated. The OWT is located on a large-scale prestressing bucket foundation constructed by an integrated installation technique. According to the simulation results, under the ship collision, a certain range of plastic zone appears within a local area of arc transition structure of the bucket foundation, and the concrete plastic zone is seriously damaged. As the stress level of OWT tower is relatively low, the OWT tower is less affected. A great inertial force is generated at the top of the OWT tower as the mass of nacelle and blades is up to 400 t. The displacement of the tower is in the opposite direction of the ship collision at the end of 1 s under the action of inertial force. There is only a minor damage in the ship bow. Most of the kinetic energy is transformed into the plastic dissipation and absorbed by the arc transition structure of bucket foundation. 展开更多

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of cavitating flow through water hydraulic poppet valves were performed using advanced RNG k-epsilon turbulence model. The flow was turbulent, incompressible and unsteady, for Reynolds numbers greater than 43 000. The working fluid was water, and the structure of the valve was simplified as a two dimensional axisymmetric geometrical model. Flow field visualization was numerically achieved. The effects of inlet velocity, outlet pressure, opening size as well as poppet angle on cavitation intensity in the poppet valve were numerically investigated. Experimental flow visualization was conducted to capture cavitation images near the orifice in the poppet valve with 30° poppet angle using high speed video camera. The binary cavitating flow field distribution obtained from digital processing of the original cavitation image showed a good agreement with the numerical result. 展开更多

For a single cylinder engine, the total unbalanced inertial forces occur in the engine block, which results in engine’s vibration and deteriorated noise. In order to eliminate the unbalanced forces, counterweight and primary balance shaft should be attached to the cylinder block so that engine durability and ride comfortability may be further improved. Traditionally one third of connecting rod assembly’s mass is treated as reciprocating mass, and two thirds as rotating mass when designing balance mechanism. In this paper, a new method based on the multibody dynamics simulation is introduced to separate the reciprocating mass and rotating mass of connecting rod assembly. The model consists of crankshaft, connecting rod, piston and the simulation is performed subsequently. According to the simulation results of the main bearing loads, the reciprocating mass and rotating mass are separated. Finally a new balance mechanism is designed and simulation results show that it completely balances inertial forces to improve the engine’s noise vibration and harshness performance. 展开更多

To generate dynamic planning for coal mine safety investment, this study applies system dynamics to decision-making, classifying safety investments by accident type. It validates the relationship between safety investments and accident cost, by structurally analyzing the causality between safety investments and their influence factors. Our simulation model, based on Vensim software, conducts simulation analysis on a series of actual data from a coalmine in Shanxi Province. Our results indicate a lag phase in safety investments, and that increasing pre-phase safety investment reduces accident costs. We found that a 24% increase in initial safety investment could help reach the target accident costs level 14 months earlier. Our simulation test included nine kinds of variation trends of accident costs brought by different investment ratios on accident prevention. We found an optimized ratio of accident prevention investments allowing a mine to reach accident cost goals 4 months earlier, without changing its total investment. 展开更多

The obtained results showed that this reaction belongs to the pseudo-first-order reaction with a rate constant kobs of 1.4×10?5 s?1 at room temperature. The feasibility study of the AlCl(g) generated by Al_2O-AlCl_2-C system under vacuum was carried out by thermodynamic analysis and CASTEP package of the Material Studio program which was based on density functional theory(DFT) formalism. Thermodynamic calculations indicate that Al Cl and CO molecules can be formed under conditions of temperature 1760 K and the pressure of 60 Pa. The interaction of Al_2O and AlCl_2 with C shows that the chemical adsorption of Al_2O and AlCl_2 does take place on C(001) crystal plane, and at the same time, new chemical bond is formed between Al atom in Al_2O and Cl atoms from one of the Al—Cl bonds in AlCl_2. The results, after 1.25 ps dynamics simulation, indicate that adsorbed Al Cl molecules are generated and CO molecule will be formed in this system, and they will escape from C(001) surface after a longer period of dynamic simulation time. It means that the reaction of Al_2O and AlCl_2 with C can be carried out under given constraint condition. 展开更多

The purpose of studying vulnerable ecological region is to control human economic activities and to develop a negative feedback modulation mechanism.This paper established a model of vulnerable ecological region's evolvement by considering four synthetic variables.These synthetic variables are ecological carrying capacity, ecological resilience, economic development intensity, and economic development velocity. Finally, Ongniud Banner and Aohan Banner in North China were taken as study cases to simulate the evolvement processes of vulnerable ecological regions under different conditions of economic development. The flow of pseudoplastic power-law fluids with different flow indexes at a microchannel plate was studied using computational fluid dynamic simulation.The velocity distribution along the microchannel plate and especially in the microchannel slits,flow pattern along the outlet arc and the pressure drop through the whole of microchannel plate were investigated at different power-law flow indexes.The results showed that the velocity profile in the microchannel slits for low flow index fluids was similar to the plug flow and had uniform pattern.Also the power-law fluids with lower flow indexes had lower stagnation zones near the outlet of the microchannel plate.The pressure drop through the microchannel plate showed huge differences between the fluids.The most interesting result was that the pressure drops for power-law fluids were very smaller than that of Newtonian fluids.In addition,the heat transfer of the fluids through the microchannel with different channel numbers in a wide range of Reynolds number was investigated.For power-law fluid with flow index(n=0.4),the Nusselt number increases continuously as the number of channels increases.The results highlight the potential use of using pseudoplastic fluids in the microheat exchangers which can lower the pressure drop and increase the heat transfer efficiency. 展开更多

Electromechanical dynamics analysis and simulation on a rollforming equipment with both sides variable cross-section are discussed in this study.The system includes mechanical parts and electromagnetism parts,and it is a strongly coupled electromechanical system.Based on a virtual work principle and given power,generalized forces of this system are obtained.By using Lagrange-Maxwell equations,a model of electromechanical dynamics is established.Differential equations of two-phase winding on d-q axis are obtained by Park transformation,which comes from three-phase winding equations on the A-B-C axis.This system is solved with the 4th order Runge-Kutta's method,and discrete solutions of all variables are obtained.Finally,by using Matlab language,the system is simulated.The results show that the proposed method works very well. 展开更多

A method based on the virtual prototype technology simulating the separation of a launch vehicle from its aircraft in the aircraft wake was proposed based on the internally carried air-launched launch vehicle program.In this method,the full-scale model of the aircraft,the vehicle and the parachute are constructed.Then,they are imported into the ADAMS software,constraint solutions and driving forces are then added for visual dynamic simulation.The unsteady aerodynamic forces of the vehicle in the aircraft wake are calculated by CFD and the moving grid technique.The forces generated by the parachute can be derived from the Kirchhoff motion equation.Through comparing and analyzing the simulation results under different launch conditions,it has been proven that this method simulates the separation of a launch vehicle from the aircraft in the aircraft wake accurately.It provides the foundation for the aggregate project of internally carried air-launch vehicles,and offers a new referenced method for multi-body dynamic simulation. 展开更多

This paper presents the results of an investigation to use arc-length mesh generation and finite volume TVD scheme to calculate Euler equations for predicting the effect of geometry parameters in reducing the drag force and improving the lift-drag ratio of grid fin in the supersonic flow regime. The effects of frame and web, whose cross section shape and thickness and spacing,on the aerodynamic character of the grid fin were studied. Calculations were made at Mach 2.5 and several angles of attack. The results were validated by comparing the computed aerodynamic coefficients against wind tunnel experimental data. Good agreement was found between computed and experimental results. The computed results suggest that parameters of the grid fin's frame have the greatest effect on the grid fin aerodynamic character, especially on its drag force. It was concluded proper choice of appropriate grid fin geometry parameters could reduce the drag force and improve the lift-drag ratios. 展开更多
