The pore structure of these char samples was studied through mercury intrusion method. Combined with the kinetic theory of gases, the data of surface area was used in fitting the results. As a result, the kinetic triplet was given. The analysis showed that five char samples share almost the same intrinsic activation energy of the overall reaction. The phenomenological implication of the derived combustion rate equation was given. 展开更多

In this essay the idea is put forward that rethinking doing is the task that human sciences will need to undertake in the twenty-first century because the dichotomy do/think is one of the most deceptive and dangerous that the Western furor dividendi has ever formulated. Likewise, this is the time to re-do thinking: Both activities, divided from each other, are today quantitatively efficient, but incapable of making sense of themselves, of their own proceeding and of the world where they operate. Similarly incapable are the people who perform them and suffer cruelly from this defeat. It would take a rehabilitated subject, restored to an active role as interpreter and creator of culture, to remedy these shortcomings, reintegrating the spheres in a tensile equilibrium rich in novelty and significance. To this end, in an interdisciplinary perspective, insights by Dumont, Simmel, and Damasio are discussed and connected to Sennett's crucial intuition of the need for a new craftsmanship. This becomes the model of a foundational cultural act, in which a complex vision of culture joins a subjectivity that is at the same time a dynamic balance between rational and emotional components and a process where body and soul are inextricably entwined. 展开更多

The constitutive behavior of microcrystals remains mysterious since very little,or no information regarding plastic deformation in the measured stress-strain curve is available due to plastic instability.Furthermore,the measured stress-strain curves vary greatly under different control modes,while constitutive behavior should remain unaffected by test methods.Beyond these reasons,probing the real constitutive behavior of microcrystals has long been a challenge because the nonlinear dynamical behaviors of micromechanical testing systems are unclear.Here,we perform and carefully analyze the experiments on singlecrystal aluminum micropillars under displacement control and load control.To interpret these experimental results,a lumpedparameter physical model based on the principle of micromechanical testing is developed,which can directly relate nonlinear dynamics of the micromechanical testing system to the constitutive behavior of microcrystals.This reveals that some stages of the measured stress-strain curve attributed to the control algorithm are not related to constitutive behavior.By solving the nonlinear dynamics of the micromechanical testing system,intense plastic instability(large strain burst)starting from the equilibrium state is attributed to the strain-softening stage of microcrystals.Parametric studies are also performed to reduce the influence of plastic instability on the measured responses.This study provides critical insights for developing various constitutive models and designing a reliable micromechanical testing system. 展开更多

Based upon the stochastic resonance theory,the formation mechanism of 100-kyr cycles in climate system is numerically studied in the perspective of stochastic dynamics.In this study,firstly we combine the idealized albedo model with the geological evidence and observation in climate system to construct a new albedo model.Secondly,a bistable nonlinear system is constructed by introducing the albedo model into zero-dimensional energy balance model.Finally,based on this new system,with the solar radiation cycles and stochastic perturbation simultaneously taken into account,the variation of 100-kyr cycles is analyzed by numerical simulations.The results show that,when the noise intensity reaches a certain value,the stochastic resonance can be triggered.However,the noise intensity in this level does not exist in the actual climate system.In order to explain the formation mechanism of 100-kyr glacial-interglacial cycles forced by the weak solar radiation cycles,besides the solar radiation stochastic perturbation,the stochastic dynamic effects of the other "non-solar" radiation stochastic perturbation in the climate change processes should also be considered.The stochastic dynamic simulations taking the two types of stochastic perturbation into consideration show that,when the two types of appropriately observable stochastic perturbation are introduced,the stochastic resonance also can be generated.In this situation,the contribution rate of solar radiation stochastic perturbation is about 38%,which proves the importance of solar radiation stochastic perturbation in the formation of 100-kyr climate cycles. 展开更多

This paper proposes an ontology-driven discovering model for the geographical information services to improve their recall ratio and precision ratio. This model uses the geographical information service ontology. In this paper, first we study the multilevel matching arithmetic of geographical information services. This arithmetic is used for filtering and matching the services in the service register center according to the similarity between services selected and services requested from the definition of the function similarity and credit standing similarity. The matching arithmetic, geographical information service ontology and semantic description constitute the discovering model. Finally, we test and analyze the model from the recall ratio, precision ratio, responsivity and load balance. The result indicates that the ontology-driven discovering model is excellent in recall ratio and precision ratio, and can maintain the dynamic load balance of service copy. 展开更多
