The results showed that under the climate conditions of senii-arid region of the Hnaiig-Huai-Hai Plain, the soils in the columns were under salt accumulation conditions when the groundwater depthwas controlled at less than 2.0 m, and under desalinization conditions when at larger than 2.5 m. In the soilcolnmns with clay soil and silty loam soil intercalated with a clay layer, the aniount of salt accumulated wasfar less than that in the soil column with silty loain soil throughout the whole profile. Under no irrigationconditions crop planting niay increase groundwater evaporation and hence salt accumulation in soil, mforingthe soil colnmns under desalinization be under salt accumulation conditions.展开更多

By using the time-dependent quantum-wave-packet method, the population transfer dynamics is investigated theoretically for the HF molecule. A double-E-type laser scheme is proposed to transfer the population from the |v=16〉 level to the ground vibrational level |v=0〉 on the ground electronic state. The scheme consists of two steps: The first step is to transfer the population from |v=16〉 to |v=7〉 via an intermediate level |v=11〉, and the second one is to transfer the population from |v=7〉 to |v=0〉 via |v=3〉. In each step, three vibrational levels form a E-type population transfer path under the action of two temporally overlapped laser pulses. The maximal population-transfer efficiency is obtained by optimizing the laser inten- sities, frequencies, and relative delays. Cases for the pulses in intuitive and counterintuitive sequences are both calculated and compared. It is found that for both cases the population can be efficiently (over 90%) transferred from the |v=-16〉 level to the |v=0〉 level.展开更多

The ship's parameters were not required to be known. An adaptive observer was first designed to estimate the ship's velocities and parameters. The ship position measurements were also passed through the adaptive observer to reduce high frequency measurement noise from entering the control system. Using these estimate signals, the control was then designed based on Lyapunov's direct method to force the ship's position and orientation to globally asymptotically converge to desired values. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control system. In conclusion, the paper presented a new method to design an effective control system for dynamic positioning of surface ships.展开更多

However, there is no appropriate method for measuring the internal velocity because of the destructive power of debris flow process. In this paper, we address this problem by using the relationship between velocity and kinetic pressure, as described by surface velocity and surface kinetic pressure data. Kinetic pressure is the difference of impact pressure and static pressure. The former is detected by force sensors installed in the flow direction at the sampling section. Observations show that static pressure can be computed using the formula for static water pressure by simply substituting water density for debris flow density. We describe the relationship between surface velocity and surface kinetic pressure using data from seven laboratory flume experiments. It is consistent with the relationship for single phase flow, which is the measurement principle of the Pitot tube.展开更多

Underevaporation conditions, ions moving upward with fresh groundwater were mainly Cl ̄-, SO, Ca ̄(2+), andNa ̄+. When the mineralized groundwater took part in the salt accumulation, the ionic composition in soilswas close to that in ground water supplemented. Under rainfall infiltration conditions, the salt-leaching roleoccurred mainly in the top soil. With the decrease of total salt content, NO and Cl ̄- reduced rapidly, SOdecreased slowly, but HCO had a little change only. Among cations, Na ̄+ and Ca ̄(2+) contents lowered atthe same speed, and Mg ̄(2+) decreased slowly.展开更多
