Cantonese idioms mainly include proverbs, colloquialisms, allegorical sayings, and idiomatic expressions. Among them, Cantonese animal idioms have a large number and are highly characteristic of Cantonese culture, with stable structure, complete meaning, rich content, and catchy pronunciation. Based on this, this study first analyzes the linguistic value of Cantonese animal idioms, which not only contain dialect words with local characteristics as well as ancient and foreign words, but also use a variety of rhetorical techniques and have rich rhetorical art;then analyzes the cultural meaning they imply, so as to show the vivid face of Cantonese culture.展开更多
