This paper reports two newly recorded species, lsohypsibius lunulatus Iharos, 1966 and lsohypsibiusprosostomus Thulin, 1928, of the genus lsohypsibius (Tardigrada; Hypsibiidae) from China. The specimens of lsohysibius lunulatus were collected from Taibai Mt (34°18′N, 107°42′E) at 2,500 m a.s.1, and those oflsohypsibius prosostomus from Taibai Mt (34°10′N, 107°35′E) at 2,000 m above sea level. All specimens are deposited at the College of Life Sciences, Shaanxi Normal University, China. A key to the Chinese species of lsohypsibius was also given. 展开更多

[Result] The main arthropod species in erueiferous vegetables fields at high mountainous area were similar, but had different quantity compositions. The richness was the highest in radish field. [Objective] The aim was to study seasonal dynamics of biomass under different land use patterns. [Methed] Aboveground biomass and underground biomass of plants under 3 different surface cover conditions of Stipa krylovii, Leymus chinensis and farmland were determined in growing season ( from May to October) of 2008. [ Result ] The aboveground biomass of Stipa krylovii, Leymus chinensis and farmland in August all reached the highest value, which of Stipa krylovii, Leymus chinensis and farmland was 287.91,117.05 and 193.59 g/m2, respectively. The total biomass of plant roots of the 3 plots in July all reached the highest value, which of Stipa krylovii, Leymus chinensis and farmland was 1 683.9, 1 601.9 and 513.9 g/m2, respectively. Leymus chinensis had the biggest biomass ratio of upper plant roots (0 - 15 cm) to lower plant roots (15 -30 cm), Stipa krylovii took second place, and farmland had the smallest one. ~ Conclusion The research provides theoretical basis for the ecological environment protection of ecological fragile area. 展开更多

Many new marine microbial EPSs with novel chemical compositions, properties and structures have been found to have potential applications in fields such as adhesives, textiles, Pharmaceuticals and medicine for anti-cancer, food additives, oil recovery and metal removal in mining and indus- trial waste treatments, etc This paper gives a brief summary of the information about the EPSs produced by marine bacteria, including their chemical compositions, properties and structures, together with their potential applications in industry. 展开更多

Paracalanus parvus, Paracalanus crassirostris , and Acartia bifilosa are dominant and widely distributed in the Bohai Sea, and comprise an important part of zooplankton in terms of biomass as well as production rate. ... Paracalanus parvus, Paracalanus crassirostris , and Acartia bifilosa are dominant and widely distributed in the Bohai Sea, and comprise an important part of zooplankton in terms of biomass as well as production rate. In order to understand their seasonal distribution and population dynamics, their stage specific abundance in different months of the year were analyzed based on the never analyzed yet samples collected in 1959. The three species showed clear and remarkable seasonal variation in abundance, which maximized in spring and summer, when they formed high biomass patches or concentrations in the nearshore area. For Paracalanus parvus , two peaks were observed in the annual circle, one in June and the other in September. For Paracalanus crassirostris , one peak occurred in summer and a small one in December. The seasonal pattern of Acartia bifilosa was different in different regions. In Bohai Bay it had a two peak pattern, with the first large peak occurring in May and the second one in October. In Laizhou Bay, a winter peak in December and January could be observed besides the spring one. The number of generations during the reproductive season for the three species was estimated based on the annual cycle in abundance and ambient temperature. 展开更多

Soil fauna have been receiving more and more attention because they play an important role in nutrient cycling.However,there is a lack of information on soil arthropods in the forest-steppe ecotone in the mountainous region of northern Hebei,which makes it difficult to meet the need of protecting biodiversity in this area.Soil arthropod communities were investigated in the forest-steppe ecotone in northern Hebei province to provide basic information on changes in mountain soil fertility,which could promote the development of soil arthropod communities in mountain ecotones.From the preliminary identification,a total of 7994 individual soil arthropods were collected,which belonged to 25 groups,6 classes and 24 orders.Acarina,Hymenoptera and Collembola were the dominant groups in the ecotone.The number of Acarina was higher than Collembola,and this phenomenon was obviously different from other areas in the same climate zone.The increased abundance of rare groups in the Forest zone with the richer vegetation,higher arthropod abundance and more substantial litter depth,could be interpreted as a reaction to the suitable soil environment and food supply.And these rare groups were sensitive to environmental changes,which could be regarded as biotic indicators for evaluating soil quality.The analysis of community diversity showed that the abundance index (d),the Shannon-Wiener index (H'),the evenness index (J) and the density-group index (DG) were significantly higher in the forest zone,lower in the forest-steppe zone,and lowest in the meadow-steppe zone.Seasonal variations in community composition correlated with changes in average air temperature and precipitation in this ecotone.Groups and individuals of soil arthropod communities in the three zones were present in greater numbers in the middle of the rainy season than in the early or late periods of the rainy season as a whole.At the same time,seasonal changes in soil arthropod communities from different plots were also influenced by habitat condition. 展开更多

To study the effect of speed on the biomechanics of a knee joint during running, a biomechanical model of human lower limb joints is established based on the Kane method and semi-physical simulation. Experiments on the running process were made at different speeds for healthy young men. The influence of running speed on knee Joint motion is analyzed quantitatively and a mathematical model of the knee angle is established with speed as the independent variable. Results show that, at the moment of the heel contacting with theground, with the increase of speed, the more, and the calf and thigh are closer to the same line. In the middle stage of a gait cycle, the thigh stretches back, and then the calf and thigh are close to collineation. At that moment, the stretch of the posterior cruciate ligament is the largest, and the slower the speed, the more obvious the collineation. The maximal joint angle of the calf relative to the thigh appears in the later stage, and themaximal joint angle increases with the increase of the velocity. With the increase of the running speed, the phase of the cure of knee angle moves forward. The results can be used in the field of rehabilitation robotics and humanoid robot. 展开更多
