The relationship between process parameters of TZCC and surface quality of the alloy plate...Cu-4.7%Sn (mass fraction) alloy plate was prepared by the self-developed two-phase zone continuous casting (TZCC) process. The relationship between process parameters of TZCC and surface quality of the alloy plate was investigated. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the TZCC alloy plate were analyzed. The results show that Cu-4.7%Sn alloy plate with smooth surface can be obtained by means of reasonable matching the entrance temperature of two-phase zone mold and the continuous casting speed. The microstructure of the TZCC alloy is composed of grains-covered grains, small grains with self-closed grain boundaries, columnar grains and equiaxed grains. Compared with cold mold continuous casting Cu-4.7%Sn alloy plate, the room temperature tensile strength and ductility of the TZCC alloy plate are greatly improved.展开更多

Met...Objective: To investigate the feasibility and significance of detecting SYT-SSX fusion gene in paraffin-embedded tissues of synovial sarcoma (SS) by reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) methods. Methods: Twenty cases of SS tumors from archival materials were collected and all samples were formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded (FFPE). SYT-SSX fusion transcript was detected by RT-PCR. Home-keeping gene Porphobilinogen Deaminase (PBGD) was regarded as internal control.Results: PBGD mRNA was detected in all 20 tumor cases (100%). SYT-SSX fusion transcript was detected in 18 tumor cases (90%). In 18 SYT-SSX positive SS cases, there are 12 present SYT-SSX1 fusion transcript and 6 present SYT-SSX2 fusion transcript. SYT-SSX1 fusion transcript can be seen in 9 monophasic SS and 3 biphasic SS. In 6 SYT-SSX2 positive SS cases, 4 were monophasic SS and 2 were biphasic. Conclusion: Detection of SYT-SSX fusion transcripts in FFPE tissues for diagnosis of SS is feasible and sensitive. Subtypes of SYT-SSX fusion gene may provide prognosis information.展开更多

The difference between steel encasedconcrete composite beams with full shear connection and beams with partial shear connection,together with the relationship between the inelastic neutral axis of steel parts and concrete parts,are considered in the formulae. The calculation results of the eight specimens with full shearconnection and the three specimens with partial shear connection are in good agreement with theexperimental data, which validates the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed calculationmethods. Furthermore, the nonlinear finite element analysis of the ultimate flexural capacity of thesteel encased concrete composite beams is performed. Nonlinear material properties and nonlinearcontact properties are considered in the finite element analysis. The finite element analyticalresults also correlate well with the experimental data.展开更多

The load-deflection curve and the load-strain curve of specimens are obtained and analyzed. The test results indicate that effective cooperation can be achieved by the shearresistant connection between the reinforcement in the negative moment area and the outer-plated steel beam, and the overall working performance of the composite beams is favorable. At the load-bearing limiting state, the plastic strain on the maximum negative and positive moment section becomes fully developed so as to form relatively ideal plastic hinges. With the increase in the reinforcement ratio, the moment-carrying capacity of the composite beams improves significantly, but the ductility of the beams and the rotation ability of the plastic hinges decrease. The formulae for calculating the limit bending capacity in the negative moment area of outer-plated steel-concrete composite beams are proposed based on the test data. On the basis of analyzing the principle of the space-time coding technique and the multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) technique, adopting the turbo codes as channel coding and the optimized comple...On the basis of analyzing the principle of the space-time coding technique and the multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) technique, adopting the turbo codes as channel coding and the optimized complex wavelet packet as multi-carrier modulation, a novel space-time block coded the MC-CDMA system based on complex wavelet packet and turbo coding is proposed, and the system bit error rate (BER) performance in the Rayleigh fading channel is investigated. The system can make full use of space-time block codes' transmit diversity and turbo codes' good ability against fading channel to improve the BER performance significantly, and it can also avoid the decrease of spectrum efficiency of conventional MC-CDMA due to inserting cyclic prefix (CP) by utilizing superior characteristics of the optimized complex wavelet packet. Simulation results show that the proposed space-time block coded MC-CDMA system based on the complex wavelet packet performs better than the conventional space-time block coded MC-CDMA (STBC-MC-CDMA) system, and slightly outperforms the STBC-MC-CDMA with CP. Moreover, the application of the space-time block coding technique concatenated with turbo codes strengthens the system ability to combat various interferences in fading channel further.展开更多

The microstruc...In order to improve the high temperature oxidation resistance of TiAl alloy, Y modified silicide coatings were prepared by pack cementation process at 1030, 1080 and 1130 °C, respectively, for 5 h. The microstructures, phase constitutions and oxidation behavior of these coatings were studied. The results show that the coating prepared by co-depositing Si?Y at 1080 °C for 5 h has a multiple layer structure: a superficial zone consisting of Al-rich (Ti,Nb)5Si4 and (Ti,Nb)5Si3, an out layer consisting of (Ti,Nb)Si2, a middle layer consisting of (Ti,Nb)5Si4 and (Ti,Nb)5Si3, and aγ-TiAl inner layer. Co-deposition temperature imposes strong influences on the coating structure. The coating prepared by Si?Y co-depositing at 1080 °C for 5 h shows relatively good oxidation resistance at 1000 °C in air, and the oxidation rate constant of the coating is about two orders of magnitude lower than that of the bare TiAl alloy.展开更多
AIM:To investigate the ezrin expression in normal colorectal mucosa and colorectal cancer tissues, and study the correlation between ezrin expression in colorectal cancer tissues and tumor invasion and metastasis.METH...AIM:To investigate the ezrin expression in normal colorectal mucosa and colorectal cancer tissues, and study the correlation between ezrin expression in colorectal cancer tissues and tumor invasion and metastasis.METHODS: Eighty paraffin-embedded cancer tissue samples were selected from primary colorectal adenocarcinoma. Twenty-eight patients had well-differentiated, 22 had moderately differentiated and 30 had poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. Forty-five patients and 35 patients had lymph node metastasis. Forty-five patients were of Dukes A to B stage, and 35 were of C to D stage. Another 22 paraffi n-embedded tissue blocks of normal colorectal epithelium (>5 cm away from the edge of the tumor) were selected as the control group. All patients with colorectal cancer were treated surgically and diagnosed histologically, without preoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The immunohistochemistry was used to detect the ezrin expression in paraffin-embedded normal colorectal mucosa tissues and colorectal cancer tissue samples.RESULTS: Ezrin expression in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than in normal colorectal mucosa (75.00% vs 9.09%, P<0.01), and there was a close relationship between ezrin expression and the degree of tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis and Dukes stage (88.46% vs 50.00%, P<0.01; 94.28% vs 51.11%, P<0.01; 94.28% vs 51.11%, P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Ezrin expression is obviously higher in colorectal cancer tissues than in normal colorectal mucosa tissues, and the high level of ezrin expression is closely related to the colorectal cancer invasion and metastasis process.展开更多

Methods Here we investigated the me...Objective To investigate whether the connection of p27 Kip1 to S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 (Skp2) plays an oncogenic role in intraductal proliferative lesions of the breast. Methods Here we investigated the mechanism involved in association of Skp2's degradation of p27 Kip1 with the breast carcinogenesis by immunohistochemical method through detection of Skp2 and p27 Kip1 protein levels in 120 paraffin-embedded tissues of intraductal proliferative lesions including usual ductal hyperplasia (UDH, n=30), atypical ductal hyperplasia (n=30), flat epithelial atypia (FEA, n=30), and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS, n=30). Moreover, the expression status of Skp2 and p27 Kip1 in 30 cases of the normal breast paraffin-embedded tissues were explored. Results The DCIS group was with the highest Skp2 level and the lowest p27 Kip1 level, and the UDH group was with the lowest Skp2 level and the highest p27 Kip1 level. Both Skp2 and p27 Kip1 levels in the DCIS group were significantly different from those in the UDH group (all P<0.01). The levels of Skp2 and p27 Kip1 in the FEA group were significantly different from both the DCIS and UDH groups (all P<0.05). p27 Kip1 was negatively correlated with Skp2 in both the UDH group (r=-0.629, P=0.026) and DCIS group (r=-0.893, P=0.000). Conclusion Overexpression of Skp2 might be the mechanism underlying p27 Kip1 over degradation.展开更多
OBJECTIVE To summarize a common pathogenefic condition, the pathologic characteristics shown in frozen section and our experience utilizing 2 different common thyroid diseases (TD). diagnostic methods in cases of ME...OBJECTIVE To summarize a common pathogenefic condition, the pathologic characteristics shown in frozen section and our experience utilizing 2 different common thyroid diseases (TD). diagnostic methods in cases of METHODS Data from 638 cases with frozen sections from thyroid tissue were retrospectively analyzed. The intraoperative frozen sections of the patients and postoperative diagnostic results of routine paraffin sections were compared. RESULTS In the 683 patients, the gender ratio of females to males was 2.64 : 1, and the ratio between the patients with nodular goiter (NG) and the patients with thyroid adenoma was 1.5 : 1. The oldest age group of patients with thyroid cancer (TC) ranged from 40 to 49 years. Frozen section pathologic examination has been employed more and more in the diagnosis of thyroid diseases, and the detection rate of TC has increased year by year, i.e., the rate increased to 6.45%, 7.58%, 14.55% and 16.57%, respectively, in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Thyroid papillary carcinoma (TPC) was the most commonly seen malignant tumor of the thyroid (MTT), which accounted for approximately 94.8% of MTTs and 11.44% of the total TDs. Micropapillary carcinoma accounted for 27.4% of TPC, and multifocal carcinomas accounted for 15.58% of TCs. Many of the TCs (19.48%) were complicated by benign diseases such as adenoma, NG and thyroiditis. The coincidence rate of diagnoses made by frozen section and paraffin embedding for thyroid disease was 98.59%. Calcification was rather common in NG and TPC, and there were significant differences in psammoma bodies (PMB) between the calcifications of TPC and NG (P 〈 0.01). CONCLUSION TPC ranks first in the incidence of MTTs and accounts for 94.8% of all MTTs. About 1/4 of TPCs are micropapillary carcinoma, while 1/5 are accompanied by benign disease, such as adenorna, NG and thyroiditis. PMB are of importance and of significance in the diagnosis of TPC.展开更多

AIM:To determine the expression and clinical significance of transcriptional intermediary factor 1 gamma (TIF1γ),Smad4 and transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβR) across a spectrum representing colorectal cancer (CR...AIM:To determine the expression and clinical significance of transcriptional intermediary factor 1 gamma (TIF1γ),Smad4 and transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβR) across a spectrum representing colorectal cancer (CRC) development.METHODS:Tissue microarrays were prepared from archival paraffin embedded tissue,including 51 colorectal carcinomas,25 tubular adenomas (TA) and 26 HPs,each with matched normal colonic epithelium.Immunohistochemistry was performed using antibodies against TIF1γ,Smad4 and TGFβ RⅡ.The levels of expression were scored semi-quantitatively (score 0-3 or loss and retention for Smad4).RESULTS:Overexpression of TIF1γ was detected in 5/26 (19%) HP;however,it was seen in a significantly higher proportion of neoplasms,15/25 (60%) TAs and 24/51 (47%) CRCs (P<0.05).Normal colonic mucosa,HP,and TAs showed strong Smad4 expression,while its expression was absent in 22/51 (43%) CRCs.Over-expression of TGFβ RⅡ was more commonly seen in neoplasms,13/25 (52%) TAs and 29/51 (57%) CRCs compared to 9/26 (35%) HP (P<0.05).Furthermore,there was a correlation between TIF1γ overexpression and Smad4 loss in CRC (Kendall tau rank correlation value=0.35,P<0.05).The levels of TIF1γ overexpression were significantly higher in stage Ⅲ than in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ CRC (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The findings suggest that over-expression of TIF1γ occurs in early stages of colorectal carcinogenesis,is inversely related with Smad4 loss,and may be a prognostic indicator for poor outcome.展开更多

There areto our knowledge no reports of composite carcinomamolecular alterations. We present a case of composite carcinoma of the splenic flexure in a 33 year-old Cau-casian male to investigate the presence and prognos-tic significance of molecular alterations in rare coloniccarcinoma subtypes. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded(FFPE) tissue was hematoxylin and eosin- and mucicar-mine-stained according to protocol,and immuno-stained with cytokeratin(CK) 7,CK20,CDX2,AE1/AE3,chromo-granin-A and synaptophysin. DNA was extracted from FFPE tissues and molecular analyses were performed according to lab-developed methods,followed by capil-lary electrophoresis. Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed admixed neuroendocrine and keratinized squamous cells. Positive nuclear CDX2 expression confirme dintestinal derivation. CK7 and CK20 were negative.Neuroendocrine cells stained positively for synaptophysin and AE1/AE3 and negatively for chromogranin and mucicarmine. Hepatic metastases showed a similar immunohistochemical profile. Molecular analysis revealeda G13D KRAS mutation. BRAF mutational testing wasnegative and microsatellite instability was not detected.The patient had rapid disease progression on chemotherapy and died 60 d after presentation. Although theG13D KRAS mutation normally predicts an intermed iateoutcome,the aggressive tumor behavior suggests other modifying factors in rare types of colonic carcinomas.展开更多

Synthesis of the 112 amino-acid carboxyl-terminal part of TGF-beta1 (amino acid 279-390) was controlled by an inducible gene expression system based on bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase. This system allowed an active and selective synthesis of recombinant TGF-beta1. The molecular weight of expressed TGF-alpha1 monomer determined on SDS-polyacrylamide gel under reducing conditions was about 13 kD. Serial detergent washes combined with a single gel-filtration purification step were sufficient to purify the expression product to homogeneity. Amino-terminal sequencing revealed that the N-terminal of the recombinant protein was identical to the published data. In Western blot analysis the recombinant polypeptide showed excellent antigenicity against polyclonal TGF-beta1 antibody. The mature recombinant rat TGF-beta1 expressed in this study provides a useful tool for future detailed structural and functional studies.展开更多

The system can make full use of space-time block codes' transmit diversity and turbo codes' good ability against fading channel to improve the BER performance significantly, and it can also avoid the decrease of spectrum efficiency of conventional MC-CDMA due to inserting cyclic prefix (CP) by utilizing superior characteristics of the optimized complex wavelet packet. Simulation results show that the proposed space-time block coded MC-CDMA system based on the complex wavelet packet performs better than the conventional space-time block coded MC-CDMA (STBC-MC-CDMA) system, and slightly outperforms the STBC-MC-CDMA with CP. Moreover, the application of the space-time block coding technique concatenated with turbo codes strengthens the system ability to combat various interferences in fading channel further.

文摘In order to improve the high temperature oxidation resistance of TiAl alloy, Y modified silicide coatings were prepared by pack cementation process at 1030, 1080 and 1130 °C, respectively, for 5 h. The microstructures, phase constitutions and oxidation behavior of these coatings were studied. The results show that the coating prepared by co-depositing Si?Y at 1080 °C for 5 h has a multiple layer structure: a superficial zone consisting of Al-rich (Ti,Nb)5Si4 and (Ti,Nb)5Si3, an out layer consisting of (Ti,Nb)Si2, a middle layer consisting of (Ti,Nb)5Si4 and (Ti,Nb)5Si3, and aγ-TiAl inner layer. Co-deposition temperature imposes strong influences on the coating structure. The coating prepared by Si?Y co-depositing at 1080 °C for 5 h shows relatively good oxidation resistance at 1000 °C in air, and the oxidation rate constant of the coating is about two orders of magnitude lower than that of the bare TiAl alloy.

文摘AIM:To investigate the ezrin expression in normal colorectal mucosa and colorectal cancer tissues, and study the correlation between ezrin expression in colorectal cancer tissues and tumor invasion and metastasis.METHODS: Eighty paraffin-embedded cancer tissue samples were selected from primary colorectal adenocarcinoma. Twenty-eight patients had well-differentiated, 22 had moderately differentiated and 30 had poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. Forty-five patients and 35 patients had lymph node metastasis. Forty-five patients were of Dukes A to B stage, and 35 were of C to D stage. Another 22 paraffi n-embedded tissue blocks of normal colorectal epithelium (>5 cm away from the edge of the tumor) were selected as the control group. All patients with colorectal cancer were treated surgically and diagnosed histologically, without preoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The immunohistochemistry was used to detect the ezrin expression in paraffin-embedded normal colorectal mucosa tissues and colorectal cancer tissue samples.RESULTS: Ezrin expression in colorectal cancer was significantly higher than in normal colorectal mucosa (75.00% vs 9.09%, P<0.01), and there was a close relationship between ezrin expression and the degree of tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis and Dukes stage (88.46% vs 50.00%, P<0.01; 94.28% vs 51.11%, P<0.01; 94.28% vs 51.11%, P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Ezrin expression is obviously higher in colorectal cancer tissues than in normal colorectal mucosa tissues, and the high level of ezrin expression is closely related to the colorectal cancer invasion and metastasis process.

文摘Objective To investigate whether the connection of p27 Kip1 to S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 (Skp2) plays an oncogenic role in intraductal proliferative lesions of the breast. Methods Here we investigated the mechanism involved in association of Skp2's degradation of p27 Kip1 with the breast carcinogenesis by immunohistochemical method through detection of Skp2 and p27 Kip1 protein levels in 120 paraffin-embedded tissues of intraductal proliferative lesions including usual ductal hyperplasia (UDH, n=30), atypical ductal hyperplasia (n=30), flat epithelial atypia (FEA, n=30), and ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS, n=30). Moreover, the expression status of Skp2 and p27 Kip1 in 30 cases of the normal breast paraffin-embedded tissues were explored. Results The DCIS group was with the highest Skp2 level and the lowest p27 Kip1 level, and the UDH group was with the lowest Skp2 level and the highest p27 Kip1 level. Both Skp2 and p27 Kip1 levels in the DCIS group were significantly different from those in the UDH group (all P<0.01). The levels of Skp2 and p27 Kip1 in the FEA group were significantly different from both the DCIS and UDH groups (all P<0.05). p27 Kip1 was negatively correlated with Skp2 in both the UDH group (r=-0.629, P=0.026) and DCIS group (r=-0.893, P=0.000). Conclusion Overexpression of Skp2 might be the mechanism underlying p27 Kip1 over degradation.
文摘OBJECTIVE To summarize a common pathogenefic condition, the pathologic characteristics shown in frozen section and our experience utilizing 2 different common thyroid diseases (TD). diagnostic methods in cases of METHODS Data from 638 cases with frozen sections from thyroid tissue were retrospectively analyzed. The intraoperative frozen sections of the patients and postoperative diagnostic results of routine paraffin sections were compared. RESULTS In the 683 patients, the gender ratio of females to males was 2.64 : 1, and the ratio between the patients with nodular goiter (NG) and the patients with thyroid adenoma was 1.5 : 1. The oldest age group of patients with thyroid cancer (TC) ranged from 40 to 49 years. Frozen section pathologic examination has been employed more and more in the diagnosis of thyroid diseases, and the detection rate of TC has increased year by year, i.e., the rate increased to 6.45%, 7.58%, 14.55% and 16.57%, respectively, in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Thyroid papillary carcinoma (TPC) was the most commonly seen malignant tumor of the thyroid (MTT), which accounted for approximately 94.8% of MTTs and 11.44% of the total TDs. Micropapillary carcinoma accounted for 27.4% of TPC, and multifocal carcinomas accounted for 15.58% of TCs. Many of the TCs (19.48%) were complicated by benign diseases such as adenoma, NG and thyroiditis. The coincidence rate of diagnoses made by frozen section and paraffin embedding for thyroid disease was 98.59%. Calcification was rather common in NG and TPC, and there were significant differences in psammoma bodies (PMB) between the calcifications of TPC and NG (P 〈 0.01). CONCLUSION TPC ranks first in the incidence of MTTs and accounts for 94.8% of all MTTs. About 1/4 of TPCs are micropapillary carcinoma, while 1/5 are accompanied by benign disease, such as adenorna, NG and thyroiditis. PMB are of importance and of significance in the diagnosis of TPC.
文摘In this paper, we first introduce a new class of generalized accretive operators named (H,η)-accretive in Banach space. By studying the properties of (H,η)-accretive, we extend the concept of resolvent operators associated with m-accretive operators to the new (H,η)-accretive operators. In terms of the new resolvent operator technique, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions for this new system of variational inclusions. We also construct a new algorithm for approximating the solution of this system and discuss the convergence of the sequence of iterates generated by the algorithm.

文摘AIM:To determine the expression and clinical significance of transcriptional intermediary factor 1 gamma (TIF1γ),Smad4 and transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβR) across a spectrum representing colorectal cancer (CRC) development.METHODS:Tissue microarrays were prepared from archival paraffin embedded tissue,including 51 colorectal carcinomas,25 tubular adenomas (TA) and 26 HPs,each with matched normal colonic epithelium.Immunohistochemistry was performed using antibodies against TIF1γ,Smad4 and TGFβ RⅡ.The levels of expression were scored semi-quantitatively (score 0-3 or loss and retention for Smad4).RESULTS:Overexpression of TIF1γ was detected in 5/26 (19%) HP;however,it was seen in a significantly higher proportion of neoplasms,15/25 (60%) TAs and 24/51 (47%) CRCs (P<0.05).Normal colonic mucosa,HP,and TAs showed strong Smad4 expression,while its expression was absent in 22/51 (43%) CRCs.Over-expression of TGFβ RⅡ was more commonly seen in neoplasms,13/25 (52%) TAs and 29/51 (57%) CRCs compared to 9/26 (35%) HP (P<0.05).Furthermore,there was a correlation between TIF1γ overexpression and Smad4 loss in CRC (Kendall tau rank correlation value=0.35,P<0.05).The levels of TIF1γ overexpression were significantly higher in stage Ⅲ than in stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ CRC (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The findings suggest that over-expression of TIF1γ occurs in early stages of colorectal carcinogenesis,is inversely related with Smad4 loss,and may be a prognostic indicator for poor outcome.

文摘Composite colorectal carcinomas are rare. There are amodest number of cases in the medical literature,with even fewer cases describing composite carcinoma with neuroendocrine and squamous components. There areto our knowledge no reports of composite carcinomamolecular alterations. We present a case of composite carcinoma of the splenic flexure in a 33 year-old Cau-casian male to investigate the presence and prognos-tic significance of molecular alterations in rare coloniccarcinoma subtypes. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded(FFPE) tissue was hematoxylin and eosin- and mucicar-mine-stained according to protocol,and immuno-stained with cytokeratin(CK) 7,CK20,CDX2,AE1/AE3,chromo-granin-A and synaptophysin. DNA was extracted from FFPE tissues and molecular analyses were performed according to lab-developed methods,followed by capil-lary electrophoresis. Hematoxylin and eosin staining showed admixed neuroendocrine and keratinized squamous cells. Positive nuclear CDX2 expression confirme dintestinal derivation. CK7 and CK20 were negative.Neuroendocrine cells stained positively for synaptophysin and AE1/AE3 and negatively for chromogranin and mucicarmine. Hepatic metastases showed a similar immunohistochemical profile. Molecular analysis revealeda G13D KRAS mutation. BRAF mutational testing wasnegative and microsatellite instability was not detected.The patient had rapid disease progression on chemotherapy and died 60 d after presentation. Although theG13D KRAS mutation normally predicts an intermed iateoutcome,the aggressive tumor behavior suggests other modifying factors in rare types of colonic carcinomas.

文摘In order to study structure-function details of TGF-beta1, the recombinant mature form of rat TGF-beta1 was expressed in bacteria. Synthesis of the 112 amino-acid carboxyl-terminal part of TGF-beta1 (amino acid 279-390) was controlled by an inducible gene expression system based on bacteriophage T7 RNA polymerase. This system allowed an active and selective synthesis of recombinant TGF-beta1. The molecular weight of expressed TGF-alpha1 monomer determined on SDS-polyacrylamide gel under reducing conditions was about 13 kD. Serial detergent washes combined with a single gel-filtration purification step were sufficient to purify the expression product to homogeneity. Amino-terminal sequencing revealed that the N-terminal of the recombinant protein was identical to the published data. In Western blot analysis the recombinant polypeptide showed excellent antigenicity against polyclonal TGF-beta1 antibody. The mature recombinant rat TGF-beta1 expressed in this study provides a useful tool for future detailed structural and functional studies.
