Performance test of RAX-2000A showed that the average purity of the PX product reached 99.81%, with an average PX yield of 98.6% per pass. The new generation of PX adsorbents, RAX-3000 not only retains most advantages of the adsorbent RAX-2000A, but also has higher selective adsorption capacity by at least 8%. The actual unit production capability of the adsorbent RAX- 3000 was increased by about 18%. The RAX series PX adsorbents exhibited good adaptability to unfavorable feedstock containing high ethyl benzene (EB) fraction besides their better mechanical strength. Preliminary test results indicated that compared to the adsorbent RAX-2000A, the A/Fa and D/F relating to the adsorbent RAX-3000 were notably decreased due to the hi^her selective adsorotion canacitv of the adsorbent RAX-3000.展开更多

Chemical engineers as project managers are faced with decision environments and problems in chemical industry projects that are complex. Multiple-criteria decision making (MCDM) approaches are major parts of decision theory and analysis. This paper presents all of MCDM approaches for use in chemical engineering management decisions. In this work, case study is Research and Development (R&D) project selection in chemical industry. The ability to make sound decisions is very important to success of R&D projects. It is hoped that this work will provide a ready reference on MCDM and this will encourage the application of the MCDM in chemical engineering management.展开更多

A lot of kinetic models have been developed for fuels from hydrogen to transportation fuel surrogates. Besides, multi-scale research method has been widely adopted to develop comprehensive models, which are expected to cover combustion conditions in real combustion devices. However, critical gaps still remain between the laboratory research and real engine application due to the insufficient research work on high pressure and low temperature combustion chemistry. Besides, there is also a great need of predictive pollutant formation model. Further development of combustion chemistry research depends on a closer interaction of combustion diagnostics, theoretical calculation and kinetic model development. This paper summarizes the recent progress in combustion chemistry research briefly and outlines the challenges and perspectives.展开更多
