The effects of raw materials composition and holding time on synthesis process were investigated, and the formation process of the composites was also discussed. The phase composition and microstructure of the composites were characterized by means of XRD and SEM. It was found that increasing carbon content in a sample and holding time could promote the formation of β-Sialon, ZrN and ZrON. The proper processing parameters to synthesize β-Sialon/ZrN/ZrON composites were mass ratio of zircon to fly ash to active carbon of 49:100:100, synthesis temperature of 1550 °C and holding time of 15 h. The average grain size ofβ-Sialon and ZrN(ZrON) synthesized at 1550 °C for 15 h reached about 2 and 1μm, respectively. The fabrication process ofβ-Sialon/ZrN/ZrON composites included the formation ofβ-Sialon and ZrO2 as well as the conversion of ZrO2 to ZrN and ZrON.展开更多

Pre-alloyed powders prepared by different processes including UPWA, conventional water atomization (CWA) and elemental metal mechanical mixing (EMMM) were sintered to segments and then compared in mechanical properties, holding force between matrix and diamond, fracture morphology of blank and sintering diamond section containing matrix. The results showed that the pre-alloyed powder prepared by UPWA exhibits the best mechanical properties including the relative density, the hardness and the bending strength of matrix sinteredsegment. Sintered segments fractography of UPWA pre-alloyed powder indicatesmechanical mosaic strength and chemical bonding force between the pre-alloyed powder and the diamond, leading to the great increase in the holding force between matrix and diamond. The mechanical performance andthe service life of diamond tools were greatly improved by UPWA pre-alloyed powders.展开更多

The evolution of GO to RGO has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveal that the atomic ratio of carbon to oxygen in the RGO can be tuned from 1.67 to 13.7 through controlling the reduction time. Moreover, the conductivity of the RGO is measured to be 26.9±2.2 kS/m, much larger than those previously obtained by chemical reduction through other reducing agents. More importantly, the resistance of the RGO film with 20 nm thickhess can be as low as 2 kΩ/square, while a high transparency over 70% within a broad spectral range from 0.45 pm to 1.50 p.m can be retained. The proposed method is low-cost, eco-friendly and highly-eiffcient, the as-prepared thinner RGO films are useful in a variety of potential application fields such as optoelectronics, photovoltaics and electrochemistry by serving as an ultralight, flexible and transparent electrode material.展开更多

The pollen and phytolith analyses of two soil profiles from the northeastern part of this site were carried out to trace the agricultural practices of the Neolithic period. The phytolith results showed that rice domestication in the Yangtze River Delta could be traced back to as early as the Majiabang Culture. The pollen assemblage also revealed low levels of aquatic species, similar to that in modern paddy fields. This finding suggested that humans might have removed weeds for rice cultivation during the Neolithic period. Thus, pollen analysis in association with phytolith analysis was a promising method for identifying ancient paddy fields.展开更多

The fly ash was mixed with an aqueous NaOH solution, the alkali melted fly ash was also adopted, which is hydrothermally treated at about 104 ℃, and the liquid/solid ratio was controlled at 6:1. In order to control Si/Al molar ratio, SiO2 or Al2O3 powers were added to the fly ash. The results of XRD and SEM show that the alkali melted can activate fly ash and eliminate its quartz and mullite, along with the improvement of Si/Al molar ratio and alkalinity. In addition, zeolite Na-A changes into sodalite gradually, and nepheline is the synthesized intermediate product. Those results were discussed on the basis of a formation mechanism of zeolite from fly ash.展开更多

The concretes are intended for sealing segments of deep boreholes and have a small amount of cement for minimizing the mutual chemical impact on the contacting clay seals. The composition is examined by application of packing theory with respect to the cement/aggregate ratio and the gradation of the aggregate material which is crushed quartzite for providing high internal friction after maturation, as well as to talc added for fluidity and to the small amount of cement. Low porosity and micro-structural stability must be guaranteed for very long periods of time. The study exemplifies how packing theory assist designers in selecting optimal proportions of the various components. Optimum particle packing implies minimizing the porosity and thereby reducing the amount of cement paste needed to fill the voids between the aggregate particles. The use of talc as inorganic super-plasticizer since ordinary organic additives for reaching high fluidity at casting are undesirable, and since talc reacts with cement and provides high strength in along-term perspective.展开更多

The physical and chemical properties of the above materials were first analyzed. This study focused on compressive strength of concrete with different mixes at different ages. In many cases, products made with fly ash, micro silica, nano silica and bottom ash perform better than products made without them. Test results obtained in this study indicate that up to 5% nano silica, 10% micro silica, 20-30% fly ash and 10% bottom ash could be advantageously blended with cement without adversely affecting the strength. However, optimum levels of these materials are 1-3% nano silica, 3-8% micro silica, 10% fly ash and 5% of bottom ash when we consider the strength of concrete. All percentages are defined by weight unless otherwise mentioned.展开更多

The OHS (Ohekisawa slide) occurred on a dip slope of sedimentary rocks from the Upper Miocene Shikerepe Formation within a homocline, and also on weathered and hydrothermally altered rocks within the boundary area between the hydrothermal smectite zone and smectite-bearing mordenite zone. The SHS (Shikerebembetsugawa slide) occurred on a dip slope of sedimentary rocks from the Upper Miocene Hanakushibe Formation within wavy folds and was also controlled by a cap rock of Teshikaga Volcano Somma Lava. The SHS occurred also on weathered and hydrothermally altered rocks within the boundary area between the hydrothermal smectite zone and smectite-bearing laumontite zone. The mechanical properties of smectite, smectite-bearing mordenite, and smectite-bearing laumontite zone weakly weathered rocks indicate that they are very weak, soft rocks. These landslides are regarded as HAZLs (hydrothermal alteration zone landslides). The hydrothermal alteration yielding smectite is thus closely related to these two ancient landslides, suggesting that the potential for HAZLs within a hydrothermal area can be assessed based on the swelling clay mineral-beating hydrothermal alteration types, dip slope, and cap rock.展开更多

The EG on a 2-inch SiC (0001) showed an average sheet resistance about 720 D,/~5 with a non-uniformity 7.2%. The FETs fabricated on the EG possessed a cutoff frequency 80 GHz. Based on the VAGS derived from a completely carbonized SiC slice, a magnetic phase diagram of graphene with irregu- lar zigzag edges is also reported.展开更多

文摘This paper elucidates the relationship between landslides, geologic structures, and hydrothermal alteration zones based primarily on X-ray powder diffraction and uniaxial compressive strength tests on weakly weathered and hydrothermally altered rocks from the Ohekisawa-Shikerebembetsugawa landslide area in Teshikaga Town, Hokkaido, Japan. The hydrothermal alteration yielding smectite is thus closely related to these two ancient landslides, suggesting that the potential for HAZLs within a hydrothermal area can be assessed based on the swelling clay mineral-beating hydrothermal alteration types, dip slope, and cap rock.

文摘Using novel ideas for the fabrication of epitaxial graphene (EG) on SiC, two forms of graphene termed as vertical aligned gra- phene sheets (VAGS) and graphene covered SiC powder (GCSP) were derived, respectively, from SiC slices and SiC powder, aimed for applications in energy storage and photocatalysis. Herein, the fabrication procedures, morphology characteristics, some intrinsic physical properties and performances for applications in field effect transistor (FET) and cold cathode field emission source are revealed and analyzed based on the graphene materials. The EG on a 2-inch SiC (0001) showed an average sheet resistance about 720 D,/~5 with a non-uniformity 7.2%. The FETs fabricated on the EG possessed a cutoff frequency 80 GHz. Based on the VAGS derived from a completely carbonized SiC slice, a magnetic phase diagram of graphene with irregu- lar zigzag edges is also reported.
