The optimal selection of schemes of water transportation projects is a process of choosing a relatively optimal scheme from a number of schemes of water transportation programming and management projects, which is of ...The optimal selection of schemes of water transportation projects is a process of choosing a relatively optimal scheme from a number of schemes of water transportation programming and management projects, which is of importance in both theory and practice in water resource systems engineering. In order to achieve consistency and eliminate the dimensions of fuzzy qualitative and fuzzy quantitative evaluation indexes, to determine the weights of the indexes objectively, and to increase the differences among the comprehensive evaluation index values of water transportation project schemes, a projection pursuit method, named FPRM-PP for short, was developed in this work for selecting the optimal water transportation project scheme based on the fuzzy preference relation matrix. The research results show that FPRM-PP is intuitive and practical, the correction range of the fuzzy rained is both stable and accurate; preference relation matrix A it produces is relatively small, and the result obtherefore FPRM-PP can be widely used in the optimal selection of different multi-factor decision-making schemes.展开更多

An industrial sidetrack tester of residual oil separation by hydrocyclones was...The paper focuses on removing catalyst solids from oil slurry using 10 mm hydrocyclones, and aims to test the feasibility of the solution. An industrial sidetrack tester of residual oil separation by hydrocyclones was set up in 1.8 Mt/a resid fluid catalytic cracking (RFCC) unit, the effect of pressure drop, separation efficiency and inlet flowrate were studied. It was observed that an increase in feed flowrate will decrease the pressure drop ratio, and with an increase in feed flowrate, separation efficiency increases gradually. Under the condition that feed fiowrate was ranging from 250L/h to 270L/h, the separation efficiency was 45.77%-82.80%, the recovery rate of catalyst solid panicles was increased from 10 20% of electrostatic catalyst separator to 50 80%. Thus, it is feasible to separate the slurry by using the miniature hydrocyclones in RFCC unit.展开更多
The paper presents researches on increasing the energetic & economic efficiency of the photovoltaic (PV) conversion by designing and optimizing a dual-axis tracking mechanism that simultaneously changes the positio...The paper presents researches on increasing the energetic & economic efficiency of the photovoltaic (PV) conversion by designing and optimizing a dual-axis tracking mechanism that simultaneously changes the position of the modules using two motor sources. The driving source for the daily motion is a rotary motor, while the elevation motion is performed with a linear actuator. The main task in optimizing the tracking mechanism is to maximize the energetic gain by increasing the solar input and minimizing the energy consumption for tracking. The design strategy aims to identify the optimum angular field for the daily motion, as well as the optimum actuating time in the step-by-step motion. The study is made by developing the virtual prototype of the tracking mechanism, in the mechatronic concept. The virtual prototyping platform includes the following software solutions: CATIA (Computer Aided Tri-Dimensional Interface Application)--to create the solid model, which contains information about the mass & inertia properties of the parts, ADAMS (Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems)/View--to model the mechanical structure of the solar tracker, and EASY5 & ADAMS/Controls-for the control system design.展开更多
