Seventeen kinds of the high-entropy alloys with different components were prepared, the influencing factors (the comprehensive atomic radius difference δ, the mixing enthalpy AH and the mixing entropy AS) of phase composition of the alloys were calculated, and the microstructure and phase compositions of alloys were analyzed by using SEM and XRD. The result shows that only the systems with δ≤2.77 and △H≥-8.8 kJ/mol will form high entropy alloy with simple solid solution. Otherwise, intermetallic compounds will exist in the alloys. So, selection of the type of element has important effects on microstructure and properties of high entropy alloys.展开更多

The temperature and com...A thermodynamic model was developed for determining the surface tension of RE2O3-MgO-SiO2(RE=La, Nd, Sm, Gd and Y) melts considering the ionic radii of the components and Butler's equation. The temperature and composition dependence of the surface tensions in molten RE2O3-MgO-SiO2 slag systems was reproduced by the present model using surface tensions and molar volumes of pure oxides, as well as the anionic and cationic radii of the melt components. The iso-surface tension lines of La2O3-MgO-SiO2 slag melt at 1873 K were calculated and the effects of slag composition on the surface tension were also investigated. The surface tensions of La2O3, Gd2O3, Nd2O3 and Y2O3 at 1873 K were evaluated as 686, 677, 664 and 541 m N/m, respectively. The surface tension of pure rare earth oxide melts linearly decreases with increasing cationic field strength, except for Y2O3 oxide, while Y2O3 has a much weaker surface tension. The evaluated results of the surface tension show good agreements with literature data, and the mean deviation of the present model is found to be 1.05% at 1873 K.展开更多

[Method] Monkshood alcohol extract was prepared using soxhlet extractor. The maximum drug dose, which was the minimum dose causing 100% lethally rate in the preliminary test, was diluted into seven con- centrations in formal test. Then every mouse was orally administrated with 0.04 ml/g of the monkshood solution at single time for 7 d. Median lethal dose (LD50) and 95% confidence limit were calculated by the improved Karber method formulas. [Result] LD50 of monkshood ethanol extract was 230.12 mg/kg and 95% confidence limit of LD50 was 80.39-658.57 mg/kg. [Conclusion] Crude monkshood alcohol extract can quickly induce acute toxicity in mice.展开更多
The electronic packaging box with high silicon aluminum-base alloy was prepared by semi-solid thixoforming technique.The flow characteristic of the Si phase was analyzed.The microstructures of different parts of the b...The electronic packaging box with high silicon aluminum-base alloy was prepared by semi-solid thixoforming technique.The flow characteristic of the Si phase was analyzed.The microstructures of different parts of the box were observed by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy,and the thermophysical and mechanical properties of the box were tested.The results show that there exists the segregation phenomenon between the primary Si phase and the liquid phase during thixoforming,the liquid phase flows from the box,and the primary Si phase accumulates at the bottom of the box.The volume fraction of primary Si phase decreases gradually from the bottom to the walls.Accordingly,the thermal conductivities of bottom center and walls are 107.6 and 131.5 W/(m·K),the coefficients of thermal expansion(CTE) are 7.9×10-6 and 10.6×10-6 K-1,respectively.The flexural strength increases slightly from 167 to 180 MPa.The microstructures and properties of the box show gradient distribution overall.展开更多

Three gate-oxide layers embedded...We propose and analyze a novel Si-based electro-optic modulator with an improved metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) capacitor configuration integrated into silicon-on-insulator (SOl). Three gate-oxide layers embedded in the silicon waveguide constitute a triple MOS capacitor structure, which boosts the modulation efficiency compared with a single MOS capacitor. The simulation results demonstrate that the Vπ Lπ product is 2. 4V · cm. The rise time and fall time of the proposed device are calculated to be 80 and 40ps from the transient response curve, respectively,indicating a bandwidth of 8GHz. The phase shift efficiency and bandwidth can be enhanced by rib width scaling.展开更多

The influence of th...A new facile method for preparing water-soluble near-infrared (NIR)-emitting PbS quantum dots (QDs) is proposed by using N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC, a derivate of L-cysteine) as its stabilizer. The influence of the precursor Pb/S molar ratio, the Pb/NAC molar ratio, and the pH of original solution on optical properties is explored. Results show that aqueous PbS QDs with strong NIR fluorescence can be prepared and their photoluminescence emission peaks can be tuned from 895 nm to 970 nm. Studies indicate that such aqueous QDs have a potential application in biomedical imaging, especially in noninvasive in vivo fluorescence imaging. In addition, the resulting PbS QDs are further characterized by a transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis.展开更多

The en...We investigate the electronic and magnetic properties of the diluted magnetic semiconductors Zn1-xMnxS(001) thin films with different Mn doping concentrations using the total energy density functional theory. The energy stability and density of states of a single Mn atom and two Mn atoms at various doped configurations and different magnetic coupling state were calculated. Different doping configurations have different degrees of p-d hybridization, and because Mn atoms are located in different crystal-field environment, the 3d projected densities of states peak splitting of different Mn doping configurations are quite different. In the two Mn atoms doped, the calculated ground states of three kinds of stable configurations are anti-ferromagnetic state. We analyzed the 3d density of states diagram of three kinds of energy stability configurations with the two Mn atoms in different magnetic coupling state. When the two Mn atoms are ferromagnetic coupling, due to d-d electron interactions, density of states of anti-bonding state have significant broadening peaks. As the concentration of Mn atoms increases, there is a tendency for Mn atoms to form nearest neighbors and cluster around S. For such these configurations, the antiferromagnetic coupling between Mn atoms is energetically more favorable.展开更多
