The novel zirconium oxide, nickel oxide and zinc oxide nanoparticles supported activated carbons(Zr-AC, Ni-AC, Zn-AC) were successfully fabricated through microwave irradiation method. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using XRD, HR-SEM, XPS and BET. The optical properties of Zr-AC, Ni-AC and Zn-AC composites were investigated using UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The photocatalytic efficiency was verified in the degradation of textile dyeing wastewater(TDW) in UV light irradiation. The chemical oxygen demand(COD) of TDW was observed at regular intervals to calculate the removal rate of COD. Zn-AC composites showed impressive photocatalytic enrichment, which can be ascribed to the enhanced absorbance in the UV light region, the effective adsorptive capacity to dye molecules, the assisted charge transfer and the inhibited recombination of electron-hole pairs. The maximum TDW degradation(82% COD removal) was achieved with Zn-AC. A possible synergy mechanism on the surface of Zn-AC was also designed. Zn-AC could be reused five times without exceptional loss of its activity. 展开更多

A liquid solid semi-moving bed with non-mechanical particle transport system is proposed and used for fractionation of cesium ion in wastewater. The particle transport system, which consists of a suction chamber, a mixing chamber, a nozzle and a riser tube, is designed to be controlled completely by hydraulic force. Experiments show that continuous feeding and discharging of resin can be realized by the transport system. The removal of cesium ion from wastewater is realized, The concentration of cesium ion in effluent liquid remains below 0,1g·L^-1 (the initial concentration is 5,3g·L^-1) during the 73 hours' experiment. The average exchange capacity of resin discharged from the bed is 0.57mmol,(g dry resin)^-1, which is close to the saturated capacity of 0.65mmol·g^-1. And it is also proved that the non-homogeneity of particle vertical velocity along the radial direction can seriously influence the ion-exchange process. 展开更多

J63, producing a high activity of laccase, is a new marine-derived fungus isolated from the oceanic sediment of the East China Sea. Since the marine environment is oligotrophic nutrient, marine derived fungi may use small amount of nutrients to grow and produce laccases. Agricultural residues that are mainly composed of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose are difficult to be degraded and few microbes can take them as substrates, so they are considered as oligotrophic nutrient and have the potential to be used to produce value added products. In this study, the ability of Pestalotiopsis sp. J63 to use agricultural residues to produce laccases was tested in the submerged fermentation. The combination of 3 g·L 1maltose and 20 g·L 1rice straw was the best carbon sources and 8 g·L 1ammonium sulfate was the best nitrogen source under the condition without inducers. The effects of five inducers, the feeding time and concentration of inducer on laccase production were investigated.Adding 0.09 mmol·L 1phenol after 24 h of incubation led to high laccase activity(5089 U·L 1), while with 0.09mmol·L 1phenol in the medium and wheat bran as the nitrogen source, the laccase activity could reach 5791.7U·L 1. Native-PAGE results showed that two laccase isozymes were present in the cultures. One existed in both induced and non-induced culture filtrates, while the other was only found in the fermentation with the addition of phenol, guaiacol and veratryl alcohol. 展开更多

The central composite process optimization was performed by response surface methodology technique using a design for the treatment of methyltin mercaptide with modified semi-coke. The semi-coke from the coal industry was suitably modified by treating it with phosphoric acid, with a thermal activation process. The objective of the process optimization is to reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and NH4+-N in the methyltin mercaptide industrial effluent. The process variables considered for process optimization are the semi-coke dosage, adsorption time and effluent pH. The optimized process conditions are identified to be a semi-coke dosage of 80 g/L, adsorption time of 90 min and a pH value of 8.34. The ANOVA results indicate that the adsorbent dosage and pH are the significant parameters, while the adsorption time is insignificant, possibly owing to the large range of adsorption time chosen. The textural characteristics of modified semi-coke were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and nitrogen adsorption isotherm. The average BET surface area of modified semi-coke is estimated to be 915 mE/g, with the average pore volume of 0.71 cm3/g and a average pore diameter of 3.09 nm, with micropore volume contributing to 52.36%. 展开更多

A field experiment was carried out in southern Tunisia. OMWW application was done at rates equivalent to 0, 15, 30 and 45 m^3/ha. Results showed that increasing rates of OMWW enhance the soil fertility due to its richness in organic matter such as N and P. A rapid increase of microbial biomass (during 14 days of incubation) of OMWW amended soils occurred. However, a high increase in salinity values and phenolic compounds concentrations was observed during this experiment. 展开更多

In this study, a novel Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x heterostructure was synthesized by a simple hydrobromic (HBr) acid etching method through transforming partial of Bi5O7I to I ion doped BiOBr (BiOBrxI1-x) at room temperature without adding extra dopant. Both the band structure and component content of Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x alter with the additive HBr acid. The Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x (S3.0) sample exhibits the best photocatalytic activity, 6 times higher than that of pure Bis071, for the degradation of methyl orange under visible-light (2 〉 420 nm). The activity enhancement of Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x is primarily ascribed to the improved separation efficiency of photocharges, originated from the adjustable band structure and component content, The significant findings of this paper provide a facile way to construct highly efficient semiconductor heterojunction via playing the synergetic effect of adjustable band struc- ture and component content for purifying organic pollutants in wastewater. 展开更多
