Methods Select two groups of PD patients according to same criterion. One of them was one target lesion(posteroventral pallidotomy) group. Another was two targets lesions(posteroventral pallidotomy and vim thalamotomy) group. Each group had 50 cases. We analysed and compared the main symptoms and improvement in UPDRS and complications between two groups postoperatively. Results Improvement in tremor and UPDRS of the two targets lesions group were significantly better than that of the one target lesion group. Other symptoms improvement of the two groups were similar. Although specific complications of the two targets lesions group occurred more frequently than one target lesion group, all were transient and recovered in short time. Conclusions With strict selection criteria and skillful microelectrode guided techniques, the two targets lesions method alleviates symptoms of PD patients with severe rest tremor. Complications of the operation is mild and transient.展开更多
