The explicit representations of the tai...This paper considers the upper orthant and extremal tail dependence indices for multivariate t-copula. Where, the multivariate t-copula is defined under a correlation structure. The explicit representations of the tail dependence parameters are deduced since the copula of continuous variables is invariant under strictly increasing transformation about the random variables, which are more simple than those obtained in previous research. Then, the local monotonicity of these indices about the correlation coefficient is discussed, and it is concluded that the upper extremal dependence index increases with the correlation coefficient, but the monotonicity of the upper orthant tail dependence index is complex. Some simulations are performed by the Monte Carlo method to verify the obtained results, which are found to be satisfactory. Meanwhile, it is concluded that the obtained conclusions can be extended to any distribution family in which the generating random variable has a regularly varying distribution.展开更多

Influence mechani...Surface tensions of slag addition Mg O and Si O2 based on conventional 70%CaF 2-30%Al2O3 and 60%Ca F2-20%Ca O-20%Al2O3(mass fraction) at 1300 °C, 1400 °C and 1500 °C were investigated. Influence mechanism of Mg O and Si O2 on slag surface tension was also analyzed. Results indicate that surface tension decreases with the increase of Mg O content in the case of the Mg O content(mass fraction) less than 8%, however, when Mg O content(mass fraction) is from 8% to 30%, surface tension increases with the increase of Mg O content. When Si O2 content(mass fraction) is from 2% to 8%, surface tension decreases with the increase of Si O2 content. Additionally, the relationship between surface tension and optical basicity is a monotonically increasing linear function. Research findings can provide important reference for slag design and the study of slag-metal interfacial tension.展开更多

In this work the authors give a predictor corrector interior point algorithm for monotone variational inequality problems. The algorithm was proved to be equivalent to a level 1 perturbed composite Newton method. Computations in the algorithm do not require the initial iteration to be feasible. Triaxial compression tests on the specimens in various ages and mix designs under different confining pressures hav...The mechanical behavior of plastic concrete used in the cut-off walls of earth dams has been studied. Triaxial compression tests on the specimens in various ages and mix designs under different confining pressures have been done and the stress-strain behavior of such materials and their strength parameter changes have been experimentally investigated. It has been observed that increasing the confining pressures applied on the specimens causes the material behavior to be alike the more ductile materials and the compressive strength increases considerably as well. Moreover, a parametric study has been carded out to investigate the influence of essential parameters on the shear strength parameters of these materials. According to the research, increasing the coarse to fine aggregates ratio leads to the increase of compressive strength of the specimens as well as the increase of the cohesion and internal friction angle of the materials. Furthermore, the bentonite content decrease and the cement factor increase result in an increase of the cohesion parameter of plastic concretes and decrease of the internal friction angle of such materials.展开更多

Supersonic unsteady flows of two and three dimensional cavities, which have the same basic measures, length, depth and aft wall angle, are investigated numerically by using hybrid RANS/LES (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-S...Supersonic unsteady flows of two and three dimensional cavities, which have the same basic measures, length, depth and aft wall angle, are investigated numerically by using hybrid RANS/LES (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes/Large-Eddy Simulation) method. In particular, the mass exchange and oscillation characteristics of the cavities are analyzed and compared. It is shown that the two and three dimensional cavities have almost the same residence time except that the three dimensional one has a little larger mass decay at beginning, which may attribute to the influence of the streamwise vortices. The two dimensional cavity has three dominant frequencies while the three dimensional one has only one oscillation dominant frequency, that is, the three dimensional effects simplify the oscillation modes in the cavity. The distributions of oscillation energy are approximately universal in the transverse and spanwise directions. However, the oscillation energy in the streamwise direction shows a hybrid monotone/periodic distribution, which may be caused by the streamwise-propagating pressure waves.展开更多
