PWS is caused by disruption of normal, epigenetically controlled gene function in the chromosome 15q11-q13 region. Clinical symptoms are difficult to diagnose in infants and only become clearer at later ages as the patients develop hyperphagia and morbid obesity. Molecular genetic tests are able to definitively diagnose PWS and allow early diagnosis of the syndrome. High resolution cytogenetic testing, methylation-specific PCR (MS-PCR), and linkage analysis are routinely used to diagnose PWS. To establish a linkage analysis method for Chinese patients, this study identified a useful set of STR markers in the typical PWS deletion and adjacent area, for linkage analysis in two Chinese families with PWS offspring. Using this method, the authors confn'rned that one patient had a paternal deletion in chromosome 15q 11-q 13 and the other patient had maternal uniparental heterodisomy of chromosome 15. MS -PCR and high resolution chromosome G-banding also confirmed this diagnosis. This linkage analysis method can detect both deletion and uniparental disomy, thus providing valuable information for genetic counseling and the opportunity to analyze the relationship between the genotype and phenotype of PWS.展开更多

With a particular focus on the connection between liquid flow distribution and gas-liquid mass transfer in monolithic beds in the Taylor flow regime, hydrodynamic and gas-liquid mass transfer experiments were carriedo...With a particular focus on the connection between liquid flow distribution and gas-liquid mass transfer in monolithic beds in the Taylor flow regime, hydrodynamic and gas-liquid mass transfer experiments were carriedout in a column with a monolithic bed of cell density of 50 cpsi with trio different distributors (nozzle and packed bed distributors). Liquid saturation in individual channels was measured by using self-made micro-conductivity probes. A mal-distribution factor was used to evaluate uniform degree of phase distribution in monoliths. Overall bed pressure drop and mass transfer coefficients were measured. For liquid flow distribution and gas-liquid masstransfer, it is found that the superficial liquid velocity is a crucial factor and the packed bed distributor is better than the nozzle distributor. A semi-theoretical analysis using single channel models shows that the packed bed distributor always yields shorter and uniformly distributed liquid slugs compared to the nozzle distributor, which in turn ensures a better mass transfer performance. A bed scale mass transfer model is proposed by employing the single channel models in individual channels and incorporating effects of non-uniform liquid distribution along the bedcross-section. The model predicts the overall gas-liquid mass transfer coefficient wig a relative error within +30%.展开更多

The maximum output power of 62 mW is achieved with an incident pump power of 1.8 W. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency is up to 3.4% ,and the power instability in 24 h is better than ± 2.7 %.展开更多

All those symmetric graphs appear as normal Cayley graphs on some groups of order 2p^3 and their automorphism groups are determined. For p = 3, no connected pentavalent symmetric graphs of order 2p^3 exist. However, for p = 2 or 5, such symmetric graph exists uniquely in each case. A multiresolution hexahedron element is presented with a new multiresolution analysis(MRA)framework.The MRA framework is formulated out of a mutually nesting displacement subspace sequence,whose basis functions are co...A multiresolution hexahedron element is presented with a new multiresolution analysis(MRA)framework.The MRA framework is formulated out of a mutually nesting displacement subspace sequence,whose basis functions are constructed of scaling and shifting on element domain of a basic node shape function.The basic node shape function is constructed from shifting to other seven quadrants around a specific node of a basic isoparametric element in one quadrant and joining the corresponding node shape functions of eight elements at the specific node.The MRA endows the proposed element with the resolution level(RL)to adjust structural analysis accuracy.As a result,the traditional 8-node hexahedron element is a monoresolution one and also a special case of the proposed element.The meshing for the monoresolution finite element model is based on the empiricism while the RL adjusting for the multiresolution is laid on the solid mathematical basis.The simplicity and clarity of shape function construction with the Kronecker delta property and the rational MRA enable the proposed element method to be more rational,easier and efficient in its implementation than the conventional mono-resolution solid element method or other MRA methods.The multiresolution hexahedron element method is more adapted to dealing with the accurate computation of structural problems.展开更多
