It is the major purpose of the paper to present the urban land-banking planning and its functions of promoting the urban land-banking system and land use administration.The urban land-banking system has the potential ...It is the major purpose of the paper to present the urban land-banking planning and its functions of promoting the urban land-banking system and land use administration.The urban land-banking system has the potential attribute of acting as an irreplaceable role in urban land administration,but its unexpected function-deviation has impacted its implementation effect in China.A few city governments are attempting to deal with the problem by the urban land-banking planning which is expected to contribute to the extension of urban function,optimization of urban patterns,promotion of urban core competitiveness and overall construction of the urban value chain.In this paper,we primarily discuss the necessity,functions,purposes and main contents of the urban land-banking planning.Subsequently,the implementing situation of the urban land-banking system in Nan- jing is analyzed,including its integrated mode,spatio-temporal quantitative distribution and main characteristics.Finally,the background and targets including total,compositions,space,and regulation points are gradually introduced to present the Nanjing land-banking planning version 2.展开更多

In this paper, firstly, explaining the concept of the housing endowment, and summarizing the feasibility and necessity of the housing endowment. Then through the investigation and the analysis of SPSS data, with the housing endowment in the United States and Singapore＇ success, summing up what our country should do to make improvements, and then we will induce the current situation and predicament of the housing endowment in Nanjing. Finally, we can put forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions by the feasibility to the reality to Nanjing city in the future.展开更多
In Hue, the city located in the middle region of Vietnam, the Citadel is known as the place of the last Dynasty in the history of Vietnam, Nguyen （1802-1945）. Whereas Nguyen Kings lived in the Purple Forbidden City ...In Hue, the city located in the middle region of Vietnam, the Citadel is known as the place of the last Dynasty in the history of Vietnam, Nguyen （1802-1945）. Whereas Nguyen Kings lived in the Purple Forbidden City （the third wall of the Citadel）, other members of royal families and high-ranking mandarins lived in Hue Traditional Garden Houses （HTGHs） constructed around and in the Citadel area. This paper is a part of the research that focuses on an approach for sustainable live conservation and application of HTGHs into contemporary use. In this paper, the study aims to consider effects of the Citadel on the layout and arrangement of HTGHs located in its＇ area by studying alteration in layout elements of those house. Based on field surveys of 91 HTGHs in the Citadel area, it is found that although those houses are altered into various configurations under the impacts of urbanization and modernization, several important traditional elements in layout such as Binh Phong （masonry screen）, Be Can （basin）, and facing orientation have been maintained, and their layouts reflect a miniature image of Hue Citadel, i.e., there is an integral relationship between the Citadel and HTGHs located in it. This relationship plays an important role for expressing one of unique characteristics of Hue cultural asset, which is unavailable in other regions of Vietnam.展开更多
A compartmental model is established for schistosomiasis infection in Qianzhou and Zimuzhou, two islets in the center of Yangtzi River near Nanjing, P. R. China. The model consists of five differential equations about...A compartmental model is established for schistosomiasis infection in Qianzhou and Zimuzhou, two islets in the center of Yangtzi River near Nanjing, P. R. China. The model consists of five differential equations about the susceptible and infected subpopu- lations of mammalian Rattus norvegicus and Oncomelania snails. We calculate the basic reproductive number R0 and discuss the global stability of the disease free equilibrium and the unique endemic equilibrium when it exists. The dynamics of the model can be characterized in terms of the basic reproductive number. The parameters in the model are estimated based on the data from the field study of the Nanjing Institute of Para- sitic Diseases. Our analysis shows that in a natural isolated area where schistosomiasis is endemic, killing snails is more effective than killing Rattus norvegicus for the control of schistosomiasis.展开更多
