Contrasted with the long-standing Chinese dictionary Erya, A Grand Chinese Dictionary includes nearly 2000 later examples. In this article, 88 examples, selected from 11 different dictionaries, are presented to the editors of A Grand Dictionary for reference when they revise it. Especially, 49 examples are strictly as same as those in Erya. It’s puzzling that Erya is not used for reference when A Grand Chinese Dictionary was being compiled .展开更多
