双馈风电场的柔性高压直流输电系统控制 被引量:41

风电场采用柔性高压直流输电(voltage sourceconverter-high voltage direct current,VSC-HVDC)方式接入系统后,风电场母线电压的控制效果将影响风电场的稳定运行和受端系统的电能质量,而传统的风电场母线电压的幅相控制方式是间接电流... 风电场采用柔性高压直流输电(voltage sourceconverter-high voltage direct current,VSC-HVDC)方式接入系统后,风电场母线电压的控制效果将影响风电场的稳定运行和受端系统的电能质量,而传统的风电场母线电压的幅相控制方式是间接电流控制方式,风电场交流侧电流动态响应缓慢且易受系统参数变化影响,从而导致风电场母线电压控制效果变差。因此有必要寻求更佳的风电场母线电压控制方案来确保整个系统的运行效果。针对双馈风力发电机(doubly-fed induction generator,DFIG)风电场VSC-HVDC的系统接入方式,分析系统各部分的动态模型,对风电场侧电压源换流器(wind farm side voltage source converter,WFVSC),依据其稳态方程设计了一种新的风电场母线电压矢量控制结构,该结构引入带有交叉乘积项的电流环,在实现电流环解耦控制的同时,可有效克服风电场接入参数变化所带来的不利影响;对电网侧电压源换流器(gridside voltage source converter,GSVSC)通过输入输出线性化设计来控制直流电压。最后通过对风电场输出功率波动、风电场当地负荷波动以及风电场系统接入侧电阻参数变化的情况进行仿真分析,仿真结果验证了该控制方案的正确性和有效性。 展开更多

An input-output signal selection based on Phillips-Heffron model of a parallel high voltage alternative current/high voltage direct current(HVAC/HVDC) power system is presented to study power system stability. It is well known that appropriate coupling of inputs-outputs signals in the multivariable HVDC-HVAC system can improve the performance of designed supplemetary controller. In this work, different analysis techniques are used to measure controllability and observability of electromechanical oscillation mode. Also inputs–outputs interactions are considered and suggestions are drawn to select the best signal pair through the system inputs-outputs. In addition, a supplementary online adaptive controller for nonlinear HVDC to damp low frequency oscillations in a weakly connected system is proposed. The results obtained using MATLAB software show that the best output-input for damping controller design is rotor speed deviation as out put and phase angle of rectifier as in put. Also response of system equipped with adaptive damping controller based on HVDC system has appropriate performance when it is faced with faults and disturbance. 展开更多

Variable speed pumped storage machines are used extensively in wind power plant and pumped storage power plant. This paper presents direct torque and flux control(DTFC) of a variable speed pumped storage power plant(VSPSP). By this method both torque and flux have been applied to control the VSPSP. The comparison between VSPSP's control strategies is studied. At the first, a wind turbine with the capacity 2.2 k W and DTFC control strategies simulated then a 250 MW VSPSP is simulated with all of its parts(including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and its control system) by MATLAB software. In all of simulations, both converters including two-level voltage source converter(2LVSC) and three-level voltage source converter(3LVSC) are applied. The results of applying 2LVSC and 3LVSC are the rapid dynamic responses with better efficiency, reducing the total harmonic distortion(THD) and ripple of rotor torque and flux. 展开更多

This paper deals with the operation and performance of VSC (voltage source converter) based HVDC (high voltage direct current) interconnecting two extremely weak AC networks, the experience of Caprivilink project. It is shown in the paper that the HVDC converter automatically provides the supreme voltage and frequency stabilizing function when a critical situation is detected, no matter the disturbances appeared in sending end or receiving end AC networks. This supreme voltage and frequency stabilizing function makes it possible to avoid the blackout even if all the generators are tripped under an extra-ordinary worst contingency. By plots of recorded transients, the paper will show how the eventual blackouts are avoided. 展开更多

Flexible HVDC Transformer for Next Generation Renewable Energy Industry

The growing demand on non-fossil fuel energy has escalated the desire for mega-scale renewable energy power generation, which can no longer be satisfied solely by relying on onshore renewable energy power plants. The growing demand on non-fossil fuel energy has escalated the desire for mega-scale renewable energy power generation, which can no longer be satisfied solely by relying on onshore renewable energy power plants. Outcomes from a recent project funded by the Sixth European Union Framework Programme (FP6), Project "Upwind" concluded that larger offshore wind turbines (i.e., 〉 10 MW) are feasible and cost effective. It will be beneficial for such future large scale renewable energy power generators (i.e., large offshore turbines) and plant (i.e., large offshore wind farms) to have a dedicated high efficiency, robust, flexible and low cost power collection, transmission and distribution technology. Proposed in this paper is a compact and effective hybrid HVDC (high voltage direct current) transformer that allows realisation of a highly robust and financially rewarding next generation multi-terminal HVDC system for future offshore renewable energy power plant. This concept, potentially, allows the elimination or minimisation of the need for a centralised local offshore HVDC platform or substation in each wind farm, solar farm, or tidal farm. This paper discusses the study outcome of the proposed hybrid HVDC transformer and the application of a multi-terminal HVDC system in the renewable energy industry, compared to the existing HVAC and VSC (voltage source converters) type HVDC systems. 展开更多

In the circumstances, a smart power conversion unit is one of key components, which can integrate these DC or AC apparatus and trade power among them. Authors have developed an integrated power converter based on a well-known circuit topology of flying capacitor multilevel converter. This paper describes the detail of the circuit topology and its characteristics depending on designed parameters. The achieved power quality is also verified by simulation study. 展开更多

This paper proposes a current control scheme for a grid-connected pulse width modulator(PWM) voltage source converter(GC-VSC) under imbalanced and distorted supply voltage conditions.The control scheme is implemented in the positive synchronously rotating reference frame and composed of a single proportional integral(PI) regulator and multi-frequency resonant controllers tuned at the frequencies of 2ω and 6ω,respectively.The experimental results,with the target of eliminating the active power oscillations and current harmonics on a prototype GC-VSC system,validate the feasibility of the proposed current control scheme during supply voltage imbalance and distortion. 展开更多

The hybrid-HVDC topology,which consists of line-commutated-converter(LCC)and voltage source converter(VSC)and combines their advantages,has extensive application prospects.A hybrid-HVDC system,adopting VSC on rectifier side and LCC on inverter side,is investigated,and its mathematic model is deduced.The commutation failure issue of the LCC converter in the hybrid-HVDC system is considered,and a novel coordinated control method is proposed to enhance the system commutation failure immunity.A voltage dependent voltage order limiter(VDVOL)is designed based on the constant DC voltage control on the rectifier side,and constant extinction angle backup control is introduced based on the constant DC current control with voltage dependent current order limiter(VDCOL)on the inverter side.The hybrid-HVDC system performances under normal operation state and fault state are simulated in the PSCAD/EMTDC.Then,system transient state performances with or without the proposed control methods under fault condition are further compared and analyzed.It is concluded that the proposed control method has the ability to effectively reduce the probability of commutation failure and improve the fault recovery performance of the hybrid-HVDC system. 展开更多
