To avoid the limitations involved in Terzaghi’s theory, many efforts are being made by scholars to solve the problems in practical engineering situations. This paper presents a generalized theory for one dimensional consolidation of saturated soft clay with variable compressibility and permeability. The semi-analytical solution presented here takes into account the well known empirical e-logk and e-logp′(σ′) relations under instantaneous loading. Study of the consolida- tion behaviors showed that the ratio of Cc and Ck (the slope of e-logp and e-logk respectively) govern the ratio of consolidation. A simulative laboratory investigation with GDS advanced consolidation system was made to analyze the clay consolidation process and compare the results with the semi-analytical solution.展开更多

These materials are filled in the space between a canister containing radioactive nuclear waste and an underground chamber to absorb the radionuclide emitting from the canister and simultaneously retard its migration accompanying the perrneation of underground water to prevent the surrounding environment from po1lution. On the basis of the established elastoplastic strain-hardening mechanical model considering the material’s dilatancy character, the authors carry out the stress-strain analysis of a thick-wa1l cylinder in a plane strain state subJected to a pressure difference between internal and external pressures. The analysis may be expected to be a theoretical basis for developing a coupled shear and permeability test apparatus for conducting a permeability test along a sheared plane in a specimen. The apparatus will be used to study the effects of shear strain on the variation of geotechnical materials’ permeability coefficient in order to evaluate the influence of shear strain caused by nonuniform deformation and/or earthquake on the long-term safety of the disposal system of radioactive nuclear waste. The theoretlcal analysls methods in this paper can be directly spread to the analysis of the deformation and stability of tunnels or roadways driven in soft soils or high moisture-bearing soft rocks.展开更多

And observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on such changes. Methods: Using microdialysis sampling, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) detecting technology, dynamic sampling from experimental animals at multiple moments to observe the changes of dopamine in striatum with ischemia. And observe the effect of EA at Fengchi (GB 20) on such changes. Result: About the extracellular level of DA in normal group, sham-operation group and sham-operation + EA group, no significant changes were observed during the measuring period. The extracellular level of DA peaked at 15-45 min after MCAO and 0-30 min (P〈0.05) after reperfusion. A rising trend was also observed following 120 min after reperfusion. After EA, the extracellular level of DA was significant lower than ischemia group following 90 min after reperfusion (P 〈0.05). And there was no peak again. Conclusion: EA at Fenchi (GB 20) can regulate the disorder of DA. EA can improve the integrity neurological function. This may be one of the mechanisms of acupuncture treating the lesion of cerebral ischemia and reperfusion.展开更多
