The chemical element and the UV spectrum of each fraction are analyzed. The effects of several factors on the interfacial tension are investigated, which are the fraction concentration in oil phase, the ratio of oil component, the salts dissolved in the water phase and the pH value. The interfacial tension decreases rapidly as the concentration of the residual fraction in the oil increases, showing a higher interfacial activity of the fraction. The interfacial tension changes, as the amount of absorption or the state of the fractions in the interface changes resulting from different ratios of oil, different kinds or concentrations of salts in water, and different pH values. It is concluded that the interfacial tension changes regularly, corresponding to the regular molecular parameters of the vacuum residual fractions.展开更多

Samples were characterized by negative-ion ESI FT-ICR MS. The O2 class species (petroleum carboxylic acids), which have a close relationship with corrosion of equipment caused by high-acidity crudes, were put in the focus of attention and were discussed in this paper. Monocyclic, bicyclic, and tricyclic naphthenic acids are the main types of petroleum carboxylic acids in naphthenic-base crudes (SZ36-1 and QHD326). But the main types of petroleum carboxylic acids in paraffinic-base crude (Dar) are aliphatic acids and monocyclic naphthenic acids. The O2 class species in SZ36-1 and QHD326 are distributed in a wider range and have bigger DBE value (double-bond equivalence value) and carbon number than Dar. Bicyclic naphthenic acids have the highest proportion among petroleum carboxylie acids in diesel distillates, but monocyclic and tricyclic naphthenic acids also occupy a high proportion. Particularly, aliphatic acids in the diesel distillate of Dar still have high proportion among petroleum carboxylic acids. The distribution of petroleum carboxylic acids in VGO is basically identical. The bicyclic naphthenic acids assume the first place (about 25 m%), while the monocyclic and tricyclic naphthenic acids take the next place. The comparison of petroleum carboxylic acids in diesel distillates and VGOs has revealed that the molecules of carboxylic acids in VGOs are not only bigger but also more complicated.展开更多

In practical crude distillation operation, the distillate yield and product distribution of distillation units are different due to their various equipment and operating parameters, even the same ratio of raw materials is provided, so different process models for multi-refinery planning is therefore required. For process modeling, the relationships between total yields and mixing ratio of different refineries were determined, which is combined with process simulation using production data. Then, the yields and properties of crude distillation unit(CDU) fractions were calculated with the use of true boiling point(TBP) curves and property curves respectively when the initial cutting temperatures were given. Finally,in order to maximize the economic benefit of distillation, the optimal product distribution and the best mixing ratio of crude oil were calculated under the constraints of different properties of fractions. Comparing to previous models, the proposed model takes the influence of different refinery parameters on production process into account, while avoiding the complex process for determining the cutting points, which is considered more efficient and more accurate with respect to heavy crude refinery. Model was successfully verified by a case study, allowing a significant improvement of the refinery profit to be achieved.展开更多
