Considering the nonlinearity characteristic of deformation and locality otherness of surrounding rock, deterioration parameter field of deformation modulus of rockmass around opening was quantitatively calculated through a given function. Applicability for multi-cavern condition and parameter sensibility of the model was analyzed by numerical experiments using synthetic data. Furthermore, the model was applied to identify EDZ of underground caverns of Pubugou hydropower station by calculating deterioration parameter field. Based on the parametric analysis of spatial effect and geological investigation, it is recognized that large radial deformation of deep fractured rock at the spandrel position and insufficient supporting bolts mainly result in great deformation pressure to act on the shotcrete and cause partial crack and spalling. It is shown that deterioration parameter field along the longitudinal axis of main powerhouse is evidently non-homogeneous in space and distributes exponentially along the radius from the opening. The model provides a simple and convenient way to identify the EDZ in the working state for rapid construction feedback analysis and support optimization of underground cavem from quantitative point of view and also aids in interpreting monitoring displacements and estimating support requirements.展开更多

A total of eight phyla, 97 genera, and 310 species were found, including 232 diatom species, 45 dinoflageUate species and 33 other taxa. The phytoplankton abundances presented a significant (P〈0.001) seasonal difference with the average of 60.66x104 cells/m3. Diatoms (mainly consisting of Coscinodiscus jonesianus, Cerataulina pelagica, Skeletonema costatum, and genus Chaetoceros) dominated the phytoplankton assemblage in all seasons. We found great spatio-temporal variation in community composition based on the multidimensional scaling and similarity analysis. Canonical correspondence analysis show that temperature, nutrition, illumination, and salinity were the main variables associated with microalgal assemblage. Compared with the previous studies, an increase in phytoplankton abundance and change in the dominant species coincided with increased exploitation activities in this bay (e.g. operation of coastal power plants, intensive mariculture, tidal fiat reclamation, and industrial and agricultural development). The present findings suggest that the government should exercise caution when deciding upon developmental patterns in the sea-related economy.展开更多

The power engineering as area of science and industry is subjected to rapid modernization, which is caused by technological progress. However, not all elements of the power system are developing simultaneously. The old type of elements sometimes is sufficient to adapt old system to the new operational conditions. The work developed and proposed in this paper deals with analysis of possible optimization of synchronous generator's excitation system. Authors examined influence of excitation system's parameters to the dynamics of transient processes in the power system. Authors investigated optimal parameters of excitation system of the Kegums hydro power plant. For optimization of parameters objective functions were used. The problem of the mutual influence of excitation systems of neighbor power plants was investigated. Investigation of transient processes using developed model proved that optimization of excitation parameters improves efficiency of regulation of excitation system, damping of active power oscillation and in some cases can prevent out-of-step condition.展开更多

APS is a versatile technique to produce coatings of powder material at high deposition rates. Using this technique, powder particles are injected into a plasma jet, where they are melted and accelerated towards a substrate. The coating microstructures and properties depend strongly on the characteristics of the plasma jet, which can be controlled by the adjustment of the process parameters. However, the imeractions among the spray variables, render optimization and control of this process are quite complex. Understanding relationships between coating properties and process parameters is mandatory to optimize the process technique and the product quality. We are interested in this work to build an on-line control model for the APS process based on the elements of artificial intelligence and to build an emulator that replicates the dynamic behavior of the process as closely as possible.展开更多

This paper covers the development of a parameterization modeling, to be used in the preliminary design phase, for the turbine cover plate of an aero-engine. The parameterization modeling of the turbine cover plate is achieved by using commercial CAD (computer aided design) software processing in batch mode. Two main approaches are presented the outer face and the skeleton models. These models can then be integrated into an iterative process for designing optimal shapes. Both models are capable of reproducing existing cover plate with reasonable accuracy in relatively shorter time periods. However, the skeleton approach provides probably the best results in terms of flexibility and accuracy, but increases programming complexity and requires greater run times.展开更多

Two representative convection schemes are compared in terms of their performances on precipitation types, individual physical tendencies, and temperature and moisture fields. The main difference between the two selected schemes is in their representation of entraining/detraining process. The Tiedtke scheme assumes bulk entrainment, while the Zhang–Mc Farlane scheme parameterizes entrainment/detrainment rates under the spectrum concept. Large-scale forcing and verification data are taken from the GATE phase III field campaign, during which abundant convective events were observed. Given the same triggering function and closure assumption, results show that entrainment/detrainment representation remains the dominant factor on the simulation of cumulus mass flux and of temperature and moisture fields. By analyzing sources and sinks of heat and moisture, this study reveals how parameterization components compensate for each other and make model results insensitive to parameterization changes in certain fields, thus suggesting the need to treat parameterizations as systems rather than individual components.展开更多
