The (n, a) reaction is a very useful technique for producing heavy neutron-rich nuclei in region not accessible from fission. In the present experiment, 195Os was produced by using 198Pt(n, a)195Os reaction.The 14 MeV neutrons were produced by reaction of TiT targets with deuterons from 600 kV Cockcroft-Walton accelerator at Institute of Modern Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
