The algorithm is applied to photodynamic therapy binocular surveillance system for port wine stain (PWS) when it monitors the position of the treatment region. The corner matching based on Hu moments is used to calculate the fundamental matrix of the binocular vision system. Experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical calculation.展开更多

We find that the B-S approach can be consistently applied to study the diqaurks with two heavy quarks or one heavy and one light quarks, but for two light-quark systems, the results are not reliable. There are a few free parameters in the whole scenario which can only be fixed phenomenologically. Thus, to determine them, one has to study baryons which are composed of quarks and diquarks.展开更多

Although the copious sand and fly ash resources found in these areas can be used as fi...North and west China has abundant coal resources, however, such resources make these regions prone to serious mine fire disasters. Although the copious sand and fly ash resources found in these areas can be used as fire-fighting materials, conventional grouting is expensive because of water shortage and loess particles. A new compound material(i.e., a sand-suspended colloid), which comprises a mineral inorganic gel and an organic polymer, is developed in the current study to improve the quality of sand injection and reduce water wastage when grouting. The new material can steadily suspend the sand, through the addition of a small amount of colloid yielding steady sand-suspended slurry. The process of producing the slurry is convenient and quick, overcoming the shortage of sand-suspending thickeners which need heat and are difficult to produce. The space work model based on the theory of the double-electric layer is established to study the suspended mechanism of the solid particles in the sand-suspended colloid.The dispersion effect of the sand-suspended colloid is demonstrated by the incorporation of the electrostatic effect by the double-electric layer and the steric hindrance effect on the sand particles, ensuring the stability of the colloid system and the steady suspension of sand particles in the sand-suspended colloid.Mechanical analysis indicates that the sand is suspended steadily under the condition that the rock sand particles stress on the lower part of the fluid is less than the yield stress of the colloid. Finally, the fireprevention technology of sand suspension was applied and tested in the Daliuta Coal Mine, achieving successful results.展开更多

We show that the structure of the pieeewise C^1 solution u = u(t, x) of the problem, which can be regarded as a perturbation of the corresponding Riemann problem, is globally similar to that of the solution u = U(x/t) of the corresponding Riemann problem. The piecewise C^1 solution u = u(t, x) to this kind of problems is globally structure-stable if and only if it contains only non-degenerate shocks and contact discontinuities, but no rarefaction waves and other weak discontinuities.展开更多

This increas...Large-capacity compressors in industrial plants and the compressors in gas turbine engines consume a considerable amount of power. The compression work is a strong fimction of the ambient air temperature. This increase in compression work presents a significant problem to utilities, generators and power producers when electric demands are high during the hot months. In many petrochemical process industries and gas turbine engines, the in- crease in compression work curtails plant output, demanding more electric power to drive the system. One way to counter this problem is to directly cool the inlet air. Inlet fogging is a popular means of cooling the inlet air to air compressors. In the present study, experiments have been performed to investigate the suitability of two-fluid nozzle for inlet fogging. Compressed air is used as the driving working gas for two-fluid nozzle and water at am- bient conditions is dragged into the high-speed air jet, thus enabling the entrained water to be atomized in a very short distance from the exit of the two-fluid nozzle. The air supply pressure is varied between 2.0 and 5.0 bar and the water flow rate entrained is measured. The flow visualization and temperature and relative humidity measurements are carried out to specify the fogging characteristics of the two-fluid nozzle.展开更多

Three new isostructural binuclear transition metal complexes with azido ion and 1,2-bis(3-(pyridin-2-yl)-lH-pyrazol-1- yl)ethane (bppe), formulated as [M2(N3)2(bppe)2](C104)2 (M = Co, 1; Ni, 2; Cu, 3), w...Three new isostructural binuclear transition metal complexes with azido ion and 1,2-bis(3-(pyridin-2-yl)-lH-pyrazol-1- yl)ethane (bppe), formulated as [M2(N3)2(bppe)2](C104)2 (M = Co, 1; Ni, 2; Cu, 3), were successfully synthesized. They were structurally and magnetically characterized. In 1-3, the double azido ions link two adjacent octahedral metal centers together in the end-to-on mode (EO), with the M-NEo-M angles of 99.41°, 100.24° and 99.80°, respectively. The co-ligand bppe acts as terminal ligand to saturate the remaining coordination sites. The magnetic properties of 1-3 have been investigated in the tem- perature range of 2-300 K. Fitting of the magnetic susceptibility data revealed the occurrence of the strong ferromagnetic in- teractions [J = 26.32 cm-1 (1), J = 38.23 cm-1 (2) and J = 139.83 cm-1 (3)]. Density functional theory calculations have been performed on 1-3 to provide a magneto-structural correlation of the ferromagnetic behavior.展开更多

It has an (n - 1)-dimensional invariant surface called carrying simplex E as a globe attractor, hence the long term dynamics of the system is com- pletely determined by the dynamics on E. For the three-dimensional system, the whole dynamical behavior was presented. It has a unique positive equilibrium point and any limit set is either an equilibrium point or a limit cycle. The system is permanent and it is proved that the number of periodic orbits is finite and non-periodic oscillation the May Leonard phenomenon does not exist. A criterion for the positive equilibrium to be globally asymptotically stable is provided. Whether there exist limit cycles or not remains open.展开更多
