The thermodynamic cycle performance of two kinds of working pairs (R30/R142b, R30/R124) are calculated using the EOS of PR equation of state, and the results are discussed. The theoretical calculations indicate that refrigerating quality can be improved if the binary mixtures evaporate just in the low temperature region. The character of the rejecter to compress two phase medium supports the possibility of this kind of cycle.展开更多
This work represents a 3 D numerical study of the effects of carbon nanotube(CNT)-water nanofluids on the double diffusive convection inside the triangular pyramid solar still.This numerical investigation is performed...This work represents a 3 D numerical study of the effects of carbon nanotube(CNT)-water nanofluids on the double diffusive convection inside the triangular pyramid solar still.This numerical investigation is performed for wide ranges of governing parameters such as buoyancy ratio(-10≤N≤0),volumetric fraction of nanoparticles(0≤Φ≤0.05) and Rayleigh number(10^(3)≤Ra≤10^(5)).The results are presented in terms of flow structure,temperature field,heat and mass transfer rates variations.It was found that the buoyancy ratio can be considered as an optimizing parameter for the heat and mass transfer,and the use of CNT has a positive effect on the solar still performances.展开更多

The mass transfer parameters of the TSBP-RPB were investigated using a chemisorption system. Continuous distillation experiments were conducted in the TSBP-RPB by the methanol–water binary system. Experimental results showed that values of the effective interfacial area and liquid-side mass transfer coefficient of the TSBP-RPB were 93–337 m^2·m^(-3) and 0.05–0.19 cm·s^(-1), respectively. The height of equivalent theoretical plate(HETP) of the TSBP-RPB ranged from 1.9 to 10 cm. Moreover, the TSBP-RPB is easy to be manufactured, which shows great potential for the application of continuous distillation.展开更多
