The effect has proved good. China has the greatest population, who learn English as foreign language. Kindergartens and schools of all stages have English course. Therefore, there have been extensive studies and researches concerning bilingual education in the context of China. The effectiveness of bilingual education should be discussed and tested by more relevant studies. This paper introduces linguistic policies and phenomena in China, and reviews the current studies on bilingual education in China both at home and abroad. Finally, some implications for English teaching are put forward to inform teaching practitioners.展开更多
