It is shown that the composition of η phase in the core zone is Co_3W_3C (M_6 C type). The structure of cobalt based solid solution binder phase is fcc type. At the cooling stage of the sintering process, the phase transition of η phase, i.e. M_6C→M_12C and the martensitic phase transition of the cobalt based solid solution binder phase, i.e. fcc→hcp are suppressed, which facilitates the strengthening of the alloy. Because the instantaneous temperature of the discharge channel is as high as 10 000 ℃ during the wire cutting process, the processed surface is oxidized. Nevertheless, the oxide layer thickness is in micro grade. In the oxide film, η phase is decomposed into W_2C and CoO, and cobalt based solid solution binder is selectively oxidized, while WC remains stable due to the existence of carbon containing liquid organic cutting medium.展开更多

We lind that when the mass of one kicked rotor is much smaller than the other's, the influence of the light kicked rotor is still able to make decoherence of the heavy one. This leads to the quantum-classical transition of the heavy kicked rotor. We demonstrate this by two different coupling potentials.展开更多

The microstructure evolution was observed by confocal laser scanning microscope, and the austenite isothermal and non-isothermal transformation kinetics were studied by dilatometry. The results indicate that banded structure is produced for the reason of composition segregation and the competition between recrystallization and phase transformation. Austenite prefers to nucleate not only at ferrite/ferrite grain boundaries, but also inside the grains of ferrite.Furthermore, the austenitizing process is accomplished mainly via migration of the existing austenite/ferrite interface rather than nucleation of new grains. The incubation process can be divided into two stages which are controlled by carbon and manganese diffusion, respectively. During the incubation process, the nucleation rate of austenite decreases, and austenite growth changes from two-dimensional to one-dimensional. The partitioning coefficient, defined as the ratio of manganese content in the austenite to that in the adjacent ferrite, increases with increasing soaking time.展开更多

It is found that in the one-site drive case, the intersubsystem coupling can be equivalent to a static quasi-magnetic field in the parameter space. This perspective has satisfactorily explained the irregular asymptote effect of geometric phase. We discuss the property of the two-site magnetic drive spin system and discover that a stationary state with no geometric phase shift is generated.展开更多

Major attention has been paid to non-equilibrium hybrid microstructure consisting of both prior a and β phases, and a plates transformed from new β phases to probe α→β transformation characteristics in the alloy. The origin of the hybrid microstructure is attributed to the specific thermodynamic conditions induced by the pulsed laser treatment. ECC observation shows that newly formed [3 phases during laser heating prefer to nucleate and grow at the expense of edges of prior α grains rather than their interiors. EBSD analyses further reveal that orientations of the new β phases are not determined by the prior a grains according to the Burgers relationship but maintain those of the prior β phases in an epitaxial growth way.展开更多

The pressure field on the casing wall and the velocity fields at the rotor inlet and outlet were measured under rotating stall condition with a fast response pressure transducer and a single slant hot-wire probe, respectively. The data were processed using the “Double Phase-Locked Averaging (DPLA)”technique, which enabled to obtain the unsteady flow field with a rotating stall cell in the relative co-ordinate system fixed to the rotor. As a result, the structure and behavior of the rotating stall cell in a high specific-speed diagonal flow fan were shown.展开更多

However, the fre- quency up-conversion efficiency is limited to a small number in a single stage setup. In this paper, we propose a new scheme to produce coherent hard X-ray FEL with two- beam based two-stage echo-enabled harmonic generation configuration. Electron beams with quite different proper- ties are separately used in each stage and a monochromator is adopted to purify the radiation from first stage for seeding the second stage. Three-dimensional start-to-end simulations have been performed with realistic parameters to show the feasibility of the proposed scheme.展开更多

Rotor deformations heavily influence the backflow of the multiphase fluid through clearances within the twin screw multiphase pump and these deformations may even lead to pump failures. An accurate temperature and pressure distribution on the screw rotors need be obtained before the deformation analysis can be carried out. By means of small temperature and pressure sensors embedded into the groove at the root of the rotors, the temperatures of 12 points on the rotors and the pressure distributions of a twin screw multiphase pump under high GVFs conditions were recorded. Temperature test results were adopted to perform a heat transfer analysis for determining the temperature distribution on the screw rotors. Then deformation analyses, including thermal deformation, force deformation, and total deformation, were conducted according to the pressure and temperature distributions. Deformation analysis for different materials was also conducted under the same boundary conditions. A material was suggested for the manufacturing of rotors in a twin screw multiphase pump under the condition of high gas volume fractions.展开更多

We studied the bioconversion of phenylpyruvate (PPA) to PLA using whole recombinant Escherichia coli cells in a series of buffer/organic solvent systems. Octane was found to be the best organic solvent. The optimum volume ratio of the water phase to the n-octane phase, conversion temperature, substrate concentration, and cell concentration were 6:4, 40 ℃, 12.5 g/L, and 30 g/L wet cells, respectively. Under the optimized conditions, the average PLA productivity in the aqueous/ n-octane system was 30.69% higher than that in the aqueous system, and 32.31 g/L PLA was obtained with the use of a stirred reactor (2-L scale). Taken together, our findings indicated that PLA biosynthesis was more efficient in an aqueous/n-octane biphasic system than in a monophasic aqueous system. The proposed biphasic system is an effective strategy for enhancing PLA yield and the biosynthesis of its analogues.展开更多

The experimental moments of inertia and alignments and their variations with the rotational frequency hw are reproduced very well by the particle-number conserving calculations, which provides a reliable support to the configuration assignments in previous works for these bands. The backbendings in these two-quasiparticle bands are analyzed by the calculated occupation probabilities and the contributions of each orbital to the total angular momentum alignments. The moments of inertia and alignments for the Gallagher-Moszkowski partners of these observed two-quasiparticle rotational bands are also predicted.展开更多
