Molecular parameters including molecular weight and its distribution, degree of polymerization, and radii of gyration were measured by size exclusion chromatography coupled with multi-angle laser light scattering. No significant change in MCC chains was found during the whole reaction period, indicating that CBH digestion follows a layer-by-layer solubilization manner. This reaction mode might be the major reason for slow enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose. On the other hand, the degree of polymerization of FPC chains decreases rapidly in the initial reaction, indicating that EG digestion follows a random scission manner, which may create new ends for CBH easily. The slopes of the conformation plots for MCC and FPC increase gradually, indicating stronger chain stiffness of cellulose during hvdrolvsis展开更多
The rotating disk electrode technique is commonly used for screening and characterizing the performance of electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).However,a reliable performance comparison of different...The rotating disk electrode technique is commonly used for screening and characterizing the performance of electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).However,a reliable performance comparison of different electrocatalysts from different labs remains a challenge because of the inconsistency in the measurement of commercial Pt/C.Commercial Pt/C has been adopted extensively as a reference for evaluating the ORR performance of a new electrocatalyst.However,the reported ORR performances of commercial Pt/C from different labs could be significantly different because of multiple factors.Herein,we conducted a meta‐analysis of the ORR performance of commercial Pt/C via data mining of the literature.This revealed the optimal testing conditions for the most repeatable ORR performance,with commercial Pt/C in both acid and alkaline electrolytes;the optimal Pt loading was 20μg/cm^(2) on a 4 mm glassy carbon working electrode.The value of 0.84±0.03 V was suggested as the“Golden reference”of the commercial Pt/C(with Pt 20 wt%)ORR half‐wave potential for the performance evaluation of other ORR catalysts in both acid and alkaline electrolytes.The conclusion obtained through the meta‐analysis was confirmed by experiments.This study provides general guidance for a reliable measurement of the ORR performance of commercial Pt/C as a reference.展开更多

Models are for dissolved oxygen (DO in mg/L): R720/R680 = 20.362×(R720/R680)2?31.438×(R720/R680)+19.156; for turbidity (NTU): R*714.5 = 206.07× (R*714.5)2?582.5×R*714.5 + 423.24; and for total phosphorus (TP in mg/L): R*509.5 = 16.661× (R*509.5)2?32.646×R*509.5+16.116. The R2 values are 0.770 8, 0.660 4 and 0.738 7, respectively, showing strong positive relationships. The models were then applied to assess water quality of different times. Their commercial application and technical principle are analyzed too. The MIP technology with wide feed adaptability can form a good combination with other technologies. The MIP technology has been applied extensively in China. Based on this platform, the CGP, MIP-LTG and MIP-DCR technologies have been developed, which can further improve the flexibility of MIP technology. Based on its novel reaction control technique with a sole sequential two-zone riser, the MIP users can easily switch to different operating modes between producing either more clean gasoline and propylene or diesel through changing the catalysts and varying the operating conditions. That offers MIP users with enough production flexibility and a rational production arrangement to meet the market demand. The MIP-DCR technology with less dry gas and coke yields can provide a more flexible operating mode since the catalysts to oil ratio has become an independent variable.展开更多

The specimens were sampled from December 2014 to November 2015, using bottom trawls with various mesh sizes by commercial vessels. The species were Nemapteryx caelatus, Sciades sona, Arius gagora, Batrachocephalus mino, Neturna thalassina, N. bilineata, Osteogeneiosus militaris, Plicofollis dussumieri, P. tenuispinis, Plotosus limbatus, and P. lineatus. Of the eleven species, two species A. gagora and N. bilineata were recorded for the first time and LWRs for four species A. gagora, N. bilineata, S. sona, and B. mino still have no data in the FishBase database. In addition, new maximum length for each of the three species N. bilineata, O. militaris andB. mino was also found.展开更多

Catalyst performance tests were carded out in a fixed-bed quartz reactor under different operating conditions. Generally, as the factors improving propane conversion decrease the propylene selectivity, the optimal operating condition to maximize propylene yield is expected. The optimal condition was obtamed by the experimental design method. The investigated parameters were temperature, hydrogen/hydrocarbon (HE/HC) ratio and space velocity, being changed in three levels. Constrains such as the susceptibility of the catalyst components to sintering or phase transformation were also taken into account. Activity, selectivity and stability of the catalyst were considered as the measured response factors, while the space-time-yield (STY) was considered as the variable to be optimized due to its commercial interest. A STY of 16 mol.kg^-1.h^-1 was achieved under the optimal conditions of T= 620 ℃, H2/HC = 0.6 and, weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) = 2.2 h^-1. Single carbon-carbon bond rupture was found to be the main route for the formation of lower hydrocarbon byproducts.展开更多

A traditional and patented type of three different surfactants was used for stabilizing of the emulsion phase. The results for the emulsion made by the synthesized surfactant showed much better stability and performance in the separation process compared to that by conventionally used Span 80. To determine the optimum operation conditions, the effect of several parameters such as initial oil concentration, amount of resin in the solid phase, adding or not a surfactant, resin type, and stabilizer concentration have been investigated. It was found that under the optimum conditions, more than 98% ofoil can be removed in a single batch process.展开更多

To understand the effect of Cl anions, HCl-impre...Gas-phase dehydration of glycerol to produce acmlein was investigated over commercial catalysts based on γ-Al2O3, viz. A-64, A-56,1-62, AP-10, AP-56, AP-64 and KR-104. To understand the effect of Cl anions, HCl-impregnated sup- ports have been investigated in the dehydration reaction of glycerol at 375 ℃. For comparison, various H-zeolites were also examined. It was found that the glycerol conversion over the solid acid catalysts was strongly dependent on their acidity and surface area. And the relationship between the catalytic activity and the acidity of the catalysts was discussed. The outstanding properties of Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalyst systems for the dehydration of glycerol were revealed. Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalyst (AP-64) showed the highest catalytic activity after 50 h of reaction with an acrolein selectivity of 65% at a conversion of glycerol of 90%. Based on these results, catalysts based on γ-Al2O3 appear to be most promising for gas phase dehydration of glycerol.展开更多

Our...This paper presents an empirical study of how U.S. antidumping (AD) actions against China affect China 's inward and outward foreign direct investment (FDI) based on the international division of labor model. Our findings are as follows: (1) The U.S.-China trade deficit has been widened by both downstream firms in China established through vertical FDI and also inward enterprises established through horizontal FDI. The widening deficit in turn exacerbates vitriolic complaints in the U.S. about injury to its industries. This will lead to further U.S. AD actions discouraging FDI in China. (2) U.S. AD cases against China have negatively impacted China's metal manufacturing, chemical and, especially, textile industries in terms of exports and inward FDI. From 2004 to 2009, the share of total inward FDI going to China's manufacturing sector has dropped drastically by almost 20 percent. This supports predictions made using the international division of labor model. (3) With U.S. AD actions against Chinese products on the rise, Chinese firms chose not to circumvent such barriers through outward FDI in the U.S. but rather through outward FDI in tax havens. Such a pattern of outward FDI is not helpful for China to establish its own successful industrial development model.展开更多
