It is found that there are great differences between two models. This paper compares the maximum and minimum values of the radial temperature in the hot spot in case that a single exothermic reaction is carried out, a correlation is obtained with pseudo-homogeneous one-dimensional model to describe the entire reactor behavior. A new runaway criterion, based on the occurrence of inflection in the hot spot locus, is developed for the case of pseudo-homogeneous two-dimensional model. This criterion predicts the maximum allowable temperature for safe operation and the regions of runaway, respectively. The calculated results show that, compared with the results based on pseudo-homogeneous one-dimensional model, runaway will easily occur when the radial temperature gradient has to be considered.展开更多

Multi-tubular fixed-bed reactor used for ODHP process, employing 10000 of small diameter tubes immersed in a shell through a proper coolant flows. Herein, a theory-based pseudo-homogeneous model to describe the operation of a fixed bed reactor for the ODHP to correspondence olefln over V2O5/γ-Al203 catalyst was presented. Steady state one dimensional model has been developed to identify the operation parameters and to describe the propane and oxygen conversions, gas process and coolant temperatures, as well as other pa- rameters affecting the reactor performance such as pressure. Furthermore, the applied model showed that a double-bed multitubular reactor with intermediate air injection scheme was superior to a single-bed design due to the increasing of propylene selectivity while operating under lower oxygen partial pressures resulting in propane conversion of about 37.3%. The optimized length of the reactor needed to reach 100% conversion of the oxygen was theoretically determined. For the single-bed reactor the optimized length of 11.96 m including 0.5 m of inert section at the entrance region and for the double-bed reactor design the optimized lengths of 5.72 m for the first and 7.32 m for the second reactor were calculated. Ultimately, the use of a distributed oxygen feed with limited number of injection points indicated a significant improvement on the reactor performance in terms of propane conversion and propylene selectivity. Besides, this concept could overcome the reactor run- away temperature problem and enabled operations at the wider range of conditions to obtain enhanced propyl- ene production in an industrial scale reactor.展开更多

The experiments of start-up, nor- mal operation and parameter adjustment are carried out. The re- sults show that the bioreactor can be quickly started up in the condition that the fill is 50%, the hydraulic retention time is 72 min, aerate speed is 2.5 m3/h, rotation-cage rotated speed is 1.5 r/min, and the removal rates of chemical oxygen demand (CODCr) and Ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) are 75.34% and 80.98% respec- tively. The influence of the operation parameter on removal rates of the bioreactor is analyzed, and an appropriate operation pa- rameter is provided.展开更多

In order to describe the effect of 1,2-C2H4Cl2(EDC) inhibitor on the ethylene epoxidation process, the reversible reactions between EDC and vinyl chloride(VC) on the active sites of silver catalyst was introduced. According to the assumed mechanism, the hyperbolic macro-kinetic model of ethylene epoxidation over the A-type silver catalyst was established, and the macrokinetic experiments were carried out in an internal-recycle gradientless reactor operating at a pressure of 2.1 MPa and a temperature in the range of 217.8—249.0 ℃, with the gas composition(molar fraction) consisting of 15.82%—34.65% C2H4, 2.55%—7.80% O2, 0.88%—6.15% CO2, 0.15—2.61 μmol/mol of 1,2-C2H4Cl2 and 0.14—1.28 μmol/mol of C2H3 Cl. By means of the Simplex Optimal Method, the parameters of the macrokinetic models were estimated. Statistical test showed that the macrokinetic models developed for the A-type silver catalyst agree well with the experimental results.展开更多
