[Method] The dry seeds were irradiated by '2(36. heavy ion beams with absorbed doses: 0, 40, 80, 120, 160 and 200 Gy, respectively. Then, the seed germination potential, survival rate, antioxidant enzyme activities and lipid peroxidation of sweet sorghum were measured. [Result] Heavy-ion beams irradiation exhibited different influence on germination potential and survival rates. Germination rate showed a downward trend, but the corresponding survival curve of seedlings was saddle-shaped. The activities of SOD, POD, CAT and ASA- POD changed in different trends as well. The MDA content rose toward increasing irradiation dose, suggesting that high dose of heavy-ion beams irradiation enhanced the damage to membrane of sweet sorghum seedlings. [Conclusion] After being irra- diated, germination potential and survival rates of sweet sorghum were decreased, and antioxidant enzymes activity changed greatly. This study laid the basis for fur- ther work on breeding and improvement of sweet sorghum irradiated by ,^(12)C^(6+) heavy ion beams.展开更多

The results show that the surface exists not only carbon-hydrogen groups, but also carboxyl, ketene or quinone (carbonyl) oxygen-containing groups. These functional groups were formed in the process of the material growth, which result in large amount of chemical defect sites on the walls.展开更多

Novel visible light-induced Cr-doped Sr Ti O3–carbon nitride intercalation compound(CNIC) composite photocatalysts were synthesized. The composite photocatalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM), Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy, UV-vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy, photoluminescence(PL) spectroscopy, and BET surface area analyzer. The photocatalytic oxidation ability of the novel composite photocatalyst was evaluated using methyl orange(MO) as a target pollutant. The photocatalysts exhibited a significantly enhanced photocatalytic performance in degrading MO. For maximizing the photodegradation activity of the composite photocatalysts, the optimal CNIC content was determined. The improved photocatalytic activity of the as-prepared Cr-doped Sr Ti O3–CNIC composite photocatalyst may be attributed to the enhancement of photo-generated electron–hole separations at the interface.展开更多

In gun propellants, initial temperature is a key factor for both accuracy and safety. Ideally, the initial temperature of the propellant should not influence the ballistic properties of the round. Nevertheless, constant initial temperature coefficients can not be achieved easily. This work focuses on the influence of the firing temperature on the ballistic properties, the mechanical integrity and the sensitivity to impact of nitrocellulose based propellants. Combustion rates have been determined by closed vessel tests. Ballistic properties have been investigated by firing 5.56 cartridges. The propellants have been conditioned at temperatures ranging from -54 ℃ to +71 ℃ before firing. The largest temperature coefficient is observed at high temperatures. The temperature sensitivity of the peak pressure in the combustion chamber can not be fully explained by the results from the closed vessel test. The authors speculated that the mechanical behaviour of the propellant grains at low temperatures influences also the overall ballistic properties of the round. Impact tests with propellants conditioned at low and high temperatures permit to investigate their mechanical strength under extreme temperatures and to better understand the propellant performance during firing. Tests on aged propellants have been conducted as well.展开更多

The structures of the precursor and the catalysts were studied using X-ray diffraction(XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET) analysis, inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES), CO chemisorption, temperature programmed reduction of hydrogen(H_2-TPR) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) techniques. The activity of Fe-Mo and Co-Mo catalysts was compared in a fixed bed reactor at different temperatures. It is shown that the Co-Mo catalyst has higher CO_2 conversion at all temperature level. The time-on-stream(TOS) analysis of the activity of catalysts for the RWGS reaction was carried out over a continuous period of 60h for both catalysts. The Fe-Mo/Al_2O_3 catalyst exhibits good stability within a period of 60h, however, the Co-Mo/Al_2O_3 is gradually deactivated after 50h of reaction time. Existence of(Fe_2(MoO4_))_3 phase in Fe-Mo/Al_2O_3 catalyst makes this catalyst more stable for RWGS reaction.展开更多
