某火箭发射塔试验台钢承力架除了承受上部火箭发射试验时施加的荷载外,还会受到火箭尾部火焰的高温烧蚀作用,对承力架的安全性和耐久性亟待探究。对涂有耐高温耐烧蚀防火涂料的Q345-D钢板进行斜向喷火缩尺试验,得到其烧蚀现象、烧蚀率... 某火箭发射塔试验台钢承力架除了承受上部火箭发射试验时施加的荷载外,还会受到火箭尾部火焰的高温烧蚀作用,对承力架的安全性和耐久性亟待探究。对涂有耐高温耐烧蚀防火涂料的Q345-D钢板进行斜向喷火缩尺试验,得到其烧蚀现象、烧蚀率及温度数据;使用FLUENT软件对缩尺模型开展流-固-热耦合数值模拟,其温度及烧蚀率与试验数据符合良好,温度最大误差为8.9%,烧蚀率最大误差为7.14%;利用上述方法对三喷管火箭发射试验过程进行模拟,得到不同喷淋量、不同防火涂料喷涂厚度工况下承力架的表面温度和塔架空间温度及速度流场分布。结果表明:缩尺试验中耐高温耐烧蚀防火涂料具有良好的隔热性能和耐烧蚀性能;温度曲线呈现明显的4个阶段:迅速升温阶段、降温阶段、逐渐回升阶段、稳定阶段;当冷却喷淋量为1m3/s时,承力架表面该防火涂料厚度不应低于15mm,喷淋量在此基础上每增加0.5m3/s,该防火涂料最小厚度可减小5.2mm,当喷淋量高于2.5m3/s,承力架则无需喷涂防火涂料。 展开更多

Novel damage constitutive models and new quantitative identification method for stress thresholds of rocks under uniaxial compression

Four key stress thresholds exist in the compression process of rocks,i.e.,crack closure stress(σ_(cc)),crack initiation stress(σ_(ci)),crack damage stress(σ_(cd))and compressive strength(σ_(c)).The quantitative identifications of the first three stress thresholds are of great significance for characterizing the microcrack growth and damage evolution of rocks under compression.In this paper,a new method based on damage constitutive model is proposed to quantitatively measure the stress thresholds of rocks.Firstly,two different damage constitutive models were constructed based on acoustic emission(AE)counts and Weibull distribution function considering the compaction stages of the rock and the bearing capacity of the damage element.Then,the accumulative AE counts method(ACLM),AE count rate method(CRM)and constitutive model method(CMM)were introduced to determine the stress thresholds of rocks.Finally,the stress thresholds of 9 different rocks were identified by ACLM,CRM,and CMM.The results show that the theoretical stress−strain curves obtained from the two damage constitutive models are in good agreement with that of the experimental data,and the differences between the two damage constitutive models mainly come from the evolutionary differences of the damage variables.The results of the stress thresholds identified by the CMM are in good agreement with those identified by the AE methods,i.e.,ACLM and CRM.Therefore,the proposed CMM can be used to determine the stress thresholds of rocks. 展开更多

During the construction and operation of the abandoned mine pumped storage power station,the underground space surrounding rock body faces the complex stress environment under the action of mining disturbance,frequent pumping,water storage and other dynamic disturbances.The stability of the abandoned mine surrounding rock body is the basis for guaranteeing the safety and effectiveness of water storage in the underground space of the abandoned mine.By considering the two main factors of different stress levels and disturbance amplitudes,the mechanical properties,damage characteristics and acoustic emission characteristics of the abandoned mine perimeter rock body under dynamic disturbance were investigated using a creep-disturbed dynamic impact loading system.The experimental results show that:1)The stress level is considered to be the major contributing factor of the failure of muddy sandstone,followed by the amplitude of the disturbances;2)The time required for the destruction of muddy sandstone decreases with the increase of amplitude.When the stress level is 80%,the sandstone specimens have a decreasing number of cycles as the disturbance amplitude increases.The disturbance amplitude is sequentially increased from 4 MPa to 5,6,7,and 8 MPa,the number of cycles required for specimen destruction decreases significantly by 96.71%,99.13%,99.60%,and 99.93%,respectively;3)Disturbance amplitude and stress level have a significant effect on muddy sandstone damage and damage occurs only after a certain threshold is reached.With the increase of stress level and disturbance amplitude,the macroscopic damage of muddy sandstone is mainly conical,with obvious flake spalling and poor damage integrity;4)According to the time-dependent changes in AE energy and ringing counts,the acoustic emission activity during the failure process could be divided into three phases,namely,weakening period,smooth period,and surge period,corresponding to the compaction phase,elastic rise phase and post-peak damage phase.The research results are of reference significance for the damage evolution analysis of muddy sandstone under dynamic disturbance and the safety and stability of abandoned mine perimeter rock body. 展开更多

Reliable on line cutting tool conditioning monitoring is an essential feature of automatic machine tool and flexible manufacturing system (FMS) and computer integrated manufacturing system (CIMS). Recently artificial neural networks (ANNs) are used for this purpose in conjunction with suitable sensory systems. The present work in Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) uses back propagation neural networks (BP) and fuzzy neural networks (FNN) to process the cutting tool state data measured with force and acoustic emission (AE) sensors, and implements a valuable on line tool condition monitoring system using the ANNs. Different ANN structures are designed and investigated to estimate the tool wear state based on the fusion of acoustic emission and force signals. Finally, four case studies are introduced for the sensing and ANN processing of the tool wear states and the failures of the tool with practical experiment examples. The results indicate that a tool wear identification system can be achieved using the sensors integration with ANNs, and that ANNs provide a very effective method of implementing sensor integration for on line monitoring of tool wear states and abnormalities. 展开更多

The mechanism of slabbing failure is still unclear. In order to reveal the influence of the intermediate principal stress (σ2) on slabbing failure, true triaxial unloading compressive test was carried out based on the stress path of the underground engineering excavation, i.e., unloading the minimum principal stress (σ3), keeping σ2, increasing the maximum principal stress (σ1). The initiation and the propagation of slabbing fracture in rock specimens were identified by examining the acoustic emission (AE) and the infrared radiation characterization. The test results show that the failure modes of the granite and red sandstone specimens are changed from shear to slabbing with the increase of σ2. The AE characteristic of rock specimen under low σ2 is swarm type which is the main shock type under high σ2. The infrared radiation properties of rock specimen under different σ2 are also different. The temperature change area is just along the shear fracture such as the uniaxial compression. With the increase of σ2, the temperature change area is planar of rock specimen which proofs that the failure mode of rock specimen turns into slabbing. 展开更多

Based on the proper assumptions and approximations, the coupling mechanism of the electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) for ultrasonic generation within ferromagnetic material was studied by analyzing the eddy current distribution, Lorentz force, magnetostriction force and magnetization force. Some useful numerical calculations are presented to explain the EMAT behavior with general geometric arrangements. It is indicated that for the ferromagnetic material the magnetostriction effect dominates the EMAT phenomenon for ultrasonic wave generation in low magnetic field intensity, while the material does not reach its magnetizing saturation. But, with the increase of the bias magnetic field and saturation, the magnetostrictive terms will make no contributions to the ultrasonic generation and the Lorentz force becomes the only exciting mechanism. It is important to determine both the Lorentz and magnetostriction forces and select the appropriate working manner for achieving an optimized design. 展开更多

Based on this theory, I develop an Algorithm-Error (A-E) equation of potential field transformations in the wavenumber domain, which not only gives a more flexible algorithm of potential field transformations, but also reveals the law of error of potential field transformations in the wavenumber domain. The DFT0η η(0.5, 0.5) reduction-to-pole (RTP) technique derived from the A-E equation significantly improves the resolution and accuracy of RTP anomalies at low magnetic latitudes, including the magnetic equator. The law (origin, form mechanism, and essential properties) of the edge oscillation revealed by the A-E equation points out theoretically a way of improving the effect of existing padding methods in high-pass transformations in the wavenumber domain. 展开更多

Strainburst is one type of rockburst that generally occurs in deep tunnel.In this study,the strainburst behaviors of marble specimens were investigated under tunnel-excavation-induced stress condition,and two stress paths were designed,a commonly used stress path in true triaxial unloading rockburst tests and a new test path in which the intermediate principal stress was varied.During the tests,a high-speed camera was used to record the strainburst process,and an acoustic emission(AE)monitoring system was used to monitor the AE characteristics of failure.In these two stress paths,all the marble specimens exhibited strainbursts;however,when the intermediate principal stress was varied,the rockburst became more violent.The obtained results indicate that the intermediate principal stress has a significant effect on rockburst behavior of marble.Under a higher intermediate principal stress before the unloading,more elastic strain energy was accumulated in the specimen,and the cumulative AE energy was higher in the rockburst-induced failure,i.e.,more elastic strain energy was released during the failure.Therefore,more violent failure was observed:more rock fragments with a higher mass and larger size were ejected outward. 展开更多

In this research,a series of biaxial compression and biaxial fatigue tests were conducted to investigate the mechanical behaviors of marble and sandstone under biaxial confinements.Experimental results demonstrate that the biaxial compressive strength of rocks under biaxial compression increases firstly,and subsequently decreases with increase of the intermediate principal stress.The fatigue failure characteristics of the rocks in biaxial fatigue tests are functions of the peak value of fatigue loads,the intermediate principal stress and the rock lithology.With the increase of the peak values of fatigue loads,the fatigue lives of rocks decrease.The intermediate principal stress strengthens the resistance ability of rocks to fatigue loads except considering the strength increasing under biaxial confinements.The fatigue lives of rocks increase with the increase of the intermediate principal stress under the same ratio of the fatigue load and their biaxial compressive strength.The acoustic emission(AE)and fragments studies showed that the sandstone has higher ability to resist the fatigue loads compared to the marble,and the marble generated a greater number of smaller fragments after fatigue failure compared to the sandstone.So,it can be inferred that the rock breaking efficiency and rock burst is higher or severer induced by fatigue loading than that induced by monotonous quasi-static loading,especially for hard rocks. 展开更多

This study establishes the launch dynamics method,sensitivity analysis method,and multiobjective dynamic optimization method for the dynamic simulation analysis of the multiple launch rocket system(MLRS)based on the Riccati transfer matrix method for multibody systems(RMSTMM),direct differentiation method(DDM),and genetic algorithm(GA),respectively.Results show that simulation results of the dynamic response agree well with test results.The sensitivity analysis method is highly programming,the matrix order is low,and the calculation time is much shorter than that of the Lagrange method.With the increase of system complexity,the advantage of a high computing speed becomes more evident.Structural parameters that have the greatest influence on the dynamic response include the connection stiffness between the pitching body and the rotating body,the connection stiffness between the rotating body and the vehicle body,and the connection stiffnesses among 14^(#),16^(#),and 17^(#)wheels and the ground,which are the optimization design variables.After optimization,angular velocity variances of the pitching body in the revolving and pitching directions are reduced by 97.84%and 95.22%,respectively. 展开更多

To investigate the progressive fracture processes around a tunnel triggered by static stress and dynamic disturbance,experiments and numerical simulations were performed.The results show that the spatial distributions of acoustic emission(AE)events become very different as lateral pressure coefficients change.The combined effect of static stress and dynamic disturbance causes the damage around the tunnel,and initial stress conditions control the damage morphology.The blast disturbance cannot fundamentally change the damaged area but will deepen the extent of damage and accelerate the failure speed.The more significant the difference between the vertical and horizontal stresses is,the higher the impact on the tunnel by the dynamic disturbance is.The AE activity recovers to a relatively stable state within a short time after the blast and conforms to power-law characteristics. 展开更多

Hydraulic fracturing,as a key technology of deep energy exploitation,accelerates the rapid development of the modern petroleum industry.To study the mechanisms of hydraulic fracture propagation and rock failure mode of the vertical well hydraulic fracturing,the true triaxial hydraulic fracturing test and numerical simulation are carried out,and the influence of the principal stress difference,water injection displacement,perforation angle and natural fracture on fracture propagation is analyzed.The results show that the fracture propagation mode of limestone is mainly divided into two types:the single vertical fracture and the transverse-longitudinal crossed complex fracture.Under high displacement,the fracturing pressure is larger,and the secondary fracture is more likely to occur,while variable displacement loading is more likely to induce fracture network.Meanwhile,the amplitude of acoustic emission(AE)waveform of limestone during fracturing is between 0.01 and 0.02 mV,and the main frequency is maintained in the range of 230−300 kHz.When perforation angleθ=45°,it is easy to produce the T-type fracture that connects with the natural fracture,while X-type cracks are generated whenθ=30°.The results can be used as a reference for further study on the mechanism of limestone hydraulic fracturing. 展开更多

Based on statistical damage mechanics,the constitutive model of a rock underthree-dimensional stress was established by the law that the statistical strength of rockmicro-element obeys Weibull distribution.The acoustic emission (AE) evolution model ofrock failure was put forward according to the view that rock damage and AE were consistent.Moreover,in the failure process of rock under three-dimensional stress,the change inrelationship between stress condition parameter and the characteristic parameters of AE,such as the event number and its change rate,were studied.Also,the rock AE characteristicunder uniaxial compression was analyzed in theory and verified with examples.Theresults indicate that the cumulative event number and change rate of AE in rock failure aredetermined by stress state parameter F.Along with the gradual increase of F,first the cumulativeevent number increases gradually,then rapidly,and then slowly after the stresspeak.The form of change rate of an event by increasing F is consistent with the distributionform of rock micro-element strength.The model explained the phenomenon that a relativelyquiet period of AE appears before rock rupture that is observed by many researchersin experiments.Verification examples indicate that the AE evolution model is consistentwith the test results,so the model is reasonable and correct. 展开更多

We propose a scheme for realization a quantum Controlled-NOT gate operation using two four-level atoms through a selective atom cavity interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. In our protocol, the quantum information is encoded on the stable ground states of the two atoms. During the interaction between atoms and single-mode vacuum cavity-field, the atomic spontaneous emission is negligible as the large atom-cavity detuning effectively suppresses the spontaneous decay of the atoms. The influences of the dissipation and the deviation of interaction time on fidelity and corresponding success probability of the quantum Controlled-NOT gate and the experimental feasibility of our proposal are also discussed. 展开更多
