Building on an extended life-cycle model, this paper shows that prolonged life expectancy will cause individuals to increase their time in education but may not warrant rises in labor input.Later we show that higher improvement rate of longevity rather than initial life expectancy will promote economic growth, even we exclude the mechanism of human capital formation, and only consider growth effects of higher improvement rate of life expectancy from physical capital investment.展开更多

This paper provides an overview and discussion of the two years results of a longitudinal study performed with users and several cork products. The research aimed to tackle the process of life-span, and the results include: (1) the identification and interrelation of the aspects influencing the life-span of the products; (2) the evolution of life-span over time; and (3) new knowledge and guidelines arising about the material. Overall, most cork products are still being used, have a very good life-span, and most issues arising are material related.展开更多

For present investigation, 17 linear type traits were measured, scaled and scored as per the guidelines of International Committee for Animal Recording (2001). The average score point (ASP) under 1-9 point scale score system along with respective observed group for different linear type traits were stature (6.88; taller), chest width (5.30; intermediate), body depth (4.11; intermediate), rump angle (4.27; intermediate), rump width (5.09; intermediate), rear leg set-side view (4.55; intermediate), rear leg set-rear view (5.95; intermediate), foot angle (5.66; intermediate), udder depth (5.71; intermediate), rear udder height (4.90; intermediate), udder balance (5.27; intermediate), udder cleft (3.75; intermediate), fore udder attachment (5.55; intermediate), teat length (3.54; intermediate), fore teat placement (5.33; intermediate), rear teat placement (6.37; intermediate) and teat thickness (2.76; narrow). For most of the traits, ASP which lies near midpoint (i.e. near five) is known to be ideal for dairy type cattle. Moreover, some traits also showed the presence of undesirable ASP. Hence, the traits such as body depth, rump angle, foot angle, udder depth, rear udder height, udder cleft, fore udder attachment, teat length, and teat thickness needs to be improved for improving the production sustainability and herd life of Sahiwal cattle. Thus, present investigation gives explicit clue to incorporate these conformation traits in selection program of this valuable germplasm commonly found in Southern part of Asia (India, Pakistan, Srilanka, etc.).展开更多

More and more countries are beginning to impose extended retirement policies, like United States, South Korea, Canada and Nordic countries and so on, all have taken some measures to delay retirement. However, the general social recognition is not high. Both the aged group, the education level and the individual's lifestyle have a significant impact on the delayed retirement age policy. Severe aging situation puts the future pension system at risk, based on the interests of the country, delayed retirement will help utilize the human capital and relieve the country' s financial pressure; from individual perspective, extending retirement age can help reduce the provision for the aged people. This article based on previous literatures review, through conducted the survey of people in Halmstad to analyze the local citizen's perception on delayed retirement and the influencing factors behind. Concluded that willingness of delayed retirement among people is not very high, reasons vary from different kinds of people.展开更多

The population ageing is not a worldwide problem yet, it concerns mostly world developed countries. On the other hand, it is a known fact that the population ageing in developing countries will culminate in few decades and will be more dramatic as the current population ageing in the developed world. In the developed countries, the population ageing is cause by the prolonged human life and the decrease of natality. This trend is resulting from many factors that are related to the modernization of the society which caused the decrease in fertility and natality. The health care improvement resulted in the prolonged life expectancy and a better health condition of the population. The science advance prolonged the average life expectancy which is the main reason for the population ageing.展开更多
