Rice is the most important and extravagant food in Burundian consumption for no more than 5 kg on average per people by year. It's especially suitable to plant rice in Burundi because of the sufficient sunlight and rain. But the lack of new varieties, practical technology and modern service make it very difficult for rice production. According to this significant roll, the rice production has to be increased in order to satisfy the consumption needs which are now becoming higher and keep the food safe. This article mainly shows the rice ecological types, production facts and the major constraints of rice production in Burundi, and then look into the distance on how to solve the problems.展开更多

The investigation and analysis of the actual situation of Hubei Province showed that since the implementation of the household contract management system in rural areas, the family farm has followed the track of gradual development, breakthrough development and normal standardization development. In order to promote the family farm to develop rapidly, orderly and healthily, work must be well done to land circulation, scale management, financial support, financial subsidy, cultivation of leading talents and professional farmers, and providing all-round services.展开更多

This paper, with the cooperation on Galileo Program between Europe and China as background, gives an overview of the development of test ranges for satellite navigation, proposes an implementation plan for China Galileo Test Range (CGTR), presents an analysis of CGTR and describes its overall objective, architecture, function and services, as well as operating modes. Particular analysis and study are given to the critical technologies related to CGTR implementation, including test range simulation and evaluation, time syn-chronizing and keeping, and pseudolite time division multiple access (TDMA) signal design. Research results of this paper can be helpful to GNSS testing and related applications.展开更多

Mountain tourism is thought to be an effective and important means for maintaining and expanding rural economies and, thus, improving the living conditions of rural societies. As mountain tourism service research is a professional field with several disciplines involved, a multi-disciplinary management pIatform is needed and it facilitates participation in sustainable mountain development by diverse stakeholders. With the source regions of the Yangtze and the Yellow River as a case study, this paper presents a conceptual framework for an adaptation management of mountain tourism services according to technical, policy, social and economic dimensions. The framework is based on a vulnerability assessment of mountain ecosystems, and can serve as a reference for the development of tourism service in other mountain areas.展开更多

The operational actualization of this in theory and practice exemplifies a paradigm of news and other editorial contents reporting slant that pays more attention to dramatizing events and incidents, at best exacerbating, psychologically, panic, apprehension, and tension, but hardly focusing on solution to critical situation in society. However, journalism may not always be about the curses; it could be about cures, particularly in regard to climate change/global warming issues in developing economies like Africa's. Hence, the thrust of this paper is a strong advocacy for curative journalism that should issue from a well fed body of science-based information on how to adapt to the menace of global warming palaver in developing nations of the world, especially Nigeria. It advances that new media scientific journalism that could benefit society should do more of probing solution rather than concentrate on the throes: the former acting as an anti-depressant journalism instead of a hopeless journalism.展开更多

Notable safety studies, including WASH-1400,Sandia Siting Study and the NUREG1150 probabilistic risk study, are briefly reviewed in terms of their relevance to extreme accidents arising from seismic and other severe accident initiators. Specific characteristic about the nature of severe accidents in nuclear power plant (NPP) are reviewed along with present day state-of-art analysis methodologies (methods for estimation of leakages and consequences of releases (MELCOR) and MELCOR accident consequence code system (MACCS)) that are used to evaluate severe accidents and to optimize mitigative and protective actions against such accidents. It is the aim of this paper to make nuclear operating nations aware of the risks that accompany a much needed energy resource and to identify some of the tools, techniques and landmark safety studies that serve to make the technology safer and to maintain vigilance and adequate safety culture for the responsible management of this valuable but unforgiving technology.展开更多

Attempts have been made to review and analyse existing literatures and theories of e-government and to develop a conceptual framework for evaluating factors influencing e-government implementing in both developing and developed countries. This is necessary to build trust amongst stakeholders, to encourage collaborative working, and to ensure that transparent and generally acceptable systems are in place. It is expected that the proposed conceptual model would be validated by researchers and academicians in future, since it would be relevant for analysing those wider social and economic factors that have an impact on e-government and other information and communication technologies (ICTs).展开更多

Reserved area for public transport may be the redesign much more to take advantage of without taking up new space in cities. Redesigned solutions shown in the work of public mass transport and the redesign of non-motorized transport, bicycle and pedestrian paths point to the improved use and safety of movement of passengers, cyclists and pedestrians. This paper presents five redesigned concept designs as improving existing forms of transport and movement of cyclists and pedestrians in cities. Redesigned conceptual designs of motorized and non-motorized transport in cities should serve as ideas for the growing problems of urban development in the segment of insufficient surface for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as sustainable mobility transport people in the city.展开更多
