In the last century, there has been a significant development in the evaluation of methods to predict ground movement due to underground extraction. Some remarkable developments in three-dimensional computational methods have been supported in civil engineering, subsidence engineering and mining engineering practice. However, ground movement problem due to mining extraction sequence is effectively four dimensional (4D). A rational prediction is getting more and more important for long-term underground mining planning. Hence, computer-based analytical methods that realistically simulate spatially distributed time-dependent ground movement process are needed for the reliable long-term underground mining planning to minimize the surface environmental damages. In this research, a new computational system is developed to simulate four-dimensional (4D) ground movement by combining a stochastic medium theory, Knothe time-delay model and geographic information system (GIS) technology. All the calculations are implemented by a computational program, in which the components of GIS are used to fulfill the spatial-temporal analysis model. In this paper a tight coupling strategy based on component object model of GIS technology is used to overcome the problems of complex three-dimensional extraction model and spatial data integration. Moreover, the implementation of computational of the interfaces of the developed tool is described. The GIS based developed tool is validated by two study cases. The developed computational tool and models are achieved within the GIS system so the effective and efficient calculation methodology can be obtained, so the simulation problems of 4D ground movement due to underground mining extraction sequence can be solved by implementation of the developed tool in GIS. 展开更多

This paper presents modified version of a realistic test tool suitable to Design For Testability (DFT) and Built-ln Self Test (BIST) environments. A comprehensive tool is developed in the form of a test simulator. The simulator is capable of providing a required goal of test for the Circuit Under Test (CUT). The simulator uses the approach of fault diagnostics with fault grading procedures to provide the optimum tests. The current version of the simulator embeds features of exhaustive and pseudo-random test generation schemes along with the search solutions of cost effective test goals. The simulator provides facilities of realizing all possible pseudo-random sequence generators with all possible combinations of seeds. The tool is developed on a common Personal Computer (PC) platform and hence no special software is required. Thereby, it is a low cost tool hence economical. The tool is very much suitable for determining realistic test sequences for a targeted goal of testing for any CUT. The developed tool incorporates flexible Graphical User Interface (GUI) procedures and can be operated without any special programming skill. The tool is debugged and tested with the results of many bench mark circuits. Further, this developed tool can be utilized for educational purposes for many courses such as fault-tolerant computing, fault diagnosis, digital electronics, and safe-reliable-testable digital logic designs. 展开更多

Competitiveness is the most important internal factor to determine a country's export performance. This factor is referenced constantly and it is considered as a necessary condition when it comes to staying in foreign markets, gaining new ones, and increasing the share of exports. This paper is a preliminary study that aims to develop a software tool which is able to characterize the competitiveness of Argentina in the international market for fishery products. We propose to use predicates generated from the knowledge of experts in the study area and evaluate them through Compensatory Fuzzy Logic. The predicates were related to obtain a value that quantifies the competitiveness of Argentina in the various markets in which it provides. The analysis of results verifies the consistency of the computer tool developed. This methodology applied to the fishing industry is an innovative approach to Argentina, not only for the sector in question but also for other industrial sectors that make up the country's productive system 展开更多

Qualitatively excellent results can only be achieved in a shorter time by using a highly efficient calibration system. An exhaustive structural analysis was carried out on three Indian coals (ranging from sub-bituminous to high volatile bituminous coal) using a range of advanced characterization tools. Detailed investigations were carded out using UV-Visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy coupled energy dispersive spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The X-ray and Raman peaks were deconvoluted and analyzed in details. Coal crystallites possess turbostratic structure, whose crystallite diameter and height increase with rank. The tJdC ratio plotted against aromaticity exhibited a decreasing trend, confirming the graphitization of coal upon leaching. It is also found that, with the increase of coal rank, the dependency of I20/I26 on La is saturated, due to the increase in average size of sp2 nanoclusters. In Raman spectra, the observed G peak (1585 cm^-1) and the D2 band arises from graphitic lattices. In IR spectrum, two distinct peaks at 2850 and 2920 cm i are attributed to the symmetric and asymmetric -CH2 stretching vibrations. The intense peak at - 1620 cm^-1, is either attributed to the aromatic ring stretching of C=C nucleus. 展开更多

A tool was developed to assist the cooling systems designer in designing and installing the microsprinklers and fan cooling system. The tool was developed by integrating a mathematical model into an electronic spark map in order to use the mathematical model practically. The mathematical model was developed using the designs, parameters, variables, and constant values of the microsprinklers and fans cooling system. Subsequently, an electronic spark map (decision tree) was developed, and then the mathematical model was integrated into the electronic spark map. Afterwards, C# (C Sharp) programming language was used to develop a computer system via the electronic spark map, and to make the user interface. The developed computer system assists the designer in making decisions to specify and to calculate the required discharge of cooling system pump, length and diameter of cooling system pipelines, number of cooling fans, and number of microsprinklers. Moreover, this tool calculates the capital investment and the fixed, variable, and total costs of the cooling system. However, the mathematical model of the spark map requires some input data such as: pressure and discharge of microsprinklers, and some other engineering parameters. Data of 4 cooling systems were used to carry out the model validation. The differences between actual and calculated values were determined, and the standard deviations were calculated. The coefficients of variation were between 2.25% and 4.13%. 展开更多

His historical-cultural analysis of the "crisis in psychology" showed that, beyond contradictions between the two main methodological currents---"objective/explanatory" and "subjective/intuitive"--psychology is primarily influenced by its empirical-sensory foundations. This influence is actually at the origin of the disagreement since it maintains the obligation for the two currents to make reference to empirical-sensory data. Only a general model of the developing human being, assessed by its usefulness, will allow reorienting psychology towards a broader science. This would lead to a general theory of psychology, which could then facilitate the search for tools for an indirect method enabling it to go beyond empiricism. 展开更多

Currently the innovation of material building for main frame and wall component has present for residential projects in Indonesia. Attempt to replace the traditional material such as brick or pozzolan lime concrete block is developed a new material include utilization of coal combustion waste for concrete block, lightweight concrete, or prefab panel wall. This paper presents the research result to develop a tool support for material and system construction selecting that facilitates the selection an optimal material for a simple house construction. This study proposes a real time 3D virtual model controll and a virtual dressing room application to enable users to try virtual garments and shoes on in front of a virtual mirror. A virtual representation of the user appears in a virtual changing room and the user's hand motions select the clothes from a list on the screen. Afterwards, the selected virtual clothes appear on a humanoid model in the virtual mirror. For the purpose of aligning the 3D garments and shoes with the model, 3D locations of the joints are used for positioning, scaling and rotating. By using our developed algorithm, small, medium, large or xlarge garment size is selected automatically and this information is shown on the screen. Then, we apply skin color detection to handle the unwanted occlusions between the user and the model. To create a more realistic effect, the system takes into account different images of the clothes according to different human poses and movements. Optional mirror selection buttons make it possible to have multiple viewing angles on the model. Additionally, we developed an algorithm for matching up all motions between the model and garments. In this study, we benefit from the Microsoft Kinect SDK (software development kit) in order to follow the user's movements, coordinate the suitable clothe try-ons and provide depth sort effect to the human body and clothes. AIM:To investigate the role of 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography(FDG-PET) in the diagnosis of small pancreatic cancer. METHODS:This study involved 31 patients with proven invasive ductal cancer of the pancreas.The patients were divided into 3 groups according to the maximum diameter of the tumor:TS1(maximum tumor size≤2.0 cm) ,TS2(>2.0 cm and≤4.0 cm) or TS3-4(>4.0 cm) .The relationships between the TS and various diagnostic tools,including FDG-PET with dual time point evaluation,were analyzed. RESULTS:The tumors ranged from 1.3 to 11.0 cm in diameter.Thirty of the 31 patients(97%) had a positive FDG-PET study.There were 5 patients classified as TS1,15 as TS2 and 11 as TS3-4.The sensitivity of FDG-PET,computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonanceimaging(MRI) were 100%,40%,0%in TS1,93%,93%,89%in TS2 and 100%,100%,100%in TS3-4. The sensitivity of FDG-PET was significantly higher in comparison to CT and MRI in patients with TS1(P< 0.032) .The mean standardized uptake values(SUVs) did not show a significant difference in relation to the TS(TS1:5.8±4.5,TS2:5.7±2.2,TS3-4:8.2±3.9) ,respectively.All the TS1 tumors(from 13 to 20 mm) showed higher SUVs in FDG-PET with dual time point evaluation in the delayed phase compared with the early phase,which suggested the lesions were malignant. CONCLUSION:These results indicate that FDG-PET with dual time point evaluation is a useful modality for the detection of small pancreatic cancers with a diameter of less than 20 mm. 展开更多

Objective:This study aimed to develop the Hospital Nurse Interpersonal Empathy Questionnaire(HNIEQ)and evaluate its psychometric properties.Methods:The primary version of HNIEQ was deductively developed through reviewing the literature,and then,its face and content validity were assessed.For construct validity assessment,250 hospital nurses were randomly selected from hospitals of Kashan,Iran.Their data were used for exploratory factor analysis.Internal consistency was assessed through Cronbach's α coefficient and questionnaire stability was assessed through test-retest intraclass correlation coefficient.Ceiling and floor effects were also assessed.Data analysis was done via the SPSS program(v.16.0).Results:The final version of HNIEQ contained 45 items.Exploratory factor analysis revealed a six-factor structure(empathetic and ethical attention,perspective adoption,emotional affectability,altruism,emotion identification and responsivity,and reflection forecasting)for the questionnaire which explained 52.7%of the total variance of its total score.The Cronbach's α coefficient and the intraclass correlation coefficient of HNIEQ were 0.953 and 0.972,respectively.Conclusion:HNIEQ is a valid and reliable instrument for empathy assessment among nurses. 展开更多
