Facilitated by the LED （light-emitting diode） as an additional chromatic lighting source, observers selected the best and worst lighting colors by themselves using a ＂Mini Living Colors （PhilipsTM）＂ in the preliminary test （N = 30） and then color picker software in the main experiment （N = 30）. Food stimuli were composed of two aspects, type--natural or processed--and complexity--low or high, and consequently they were grouped into four categories. We measured the selected lighting color in terms of chromaticity and illumination level, and analyzed the best and worst combinations based on these measurements. Throughout the two empirical studies, we found three tendencies： First, except for the white, yellow lighting stimulates while red and blue discourages one＇s appetite. Second, when color categories of lighting and food are similar to each other, it stimulates the appetite whereas complementary, it discourages it. Third, the type of food does not act as an influencing factor.展开更多

With this system, the related operations such as color Doppler ultrasound images acquisition, processing, preservation, and medical records are implemented. In the design of the system, a professional acquisition card is used for implementing the acquisition of ordinary video signals. In the meantime, DICOM interface is designed using DICOM3.0 protocol for implementing multi-mode acquisition.展开更多
Beyond doubt, the gaming industry is the most important to the sustained success for Macao. While the industry has been growing spectacularly well since its liberalization in 2004, now, it is time to critically review...Beyond doubt, the gaming industry is the most important to the sustained success for Macao. While the industry has been growing spectacularly well since its liberalization in 2004, now, it is time to critically review the risk factors that may adversely affect its long-term, healthy, and harmonious development. People and organizations need to be vigilant in peace time. Being able to think of possible crises while living in a safe environment has been our traditional wisdom. There is an obvious need to develop and maintain a risk management mechanism for the gaming industry in Macao. Appropriate precautionary measures developed through rigorous study can help mitigate the damage brought by crises and in turn will ensure the sustained development of Macao. Risks and crises, if handled properly, can possibly be transformed into opportunities. This research adopts an integrative approach through systematic and comprehensive investigation to establish an approach to monitor and predict risks and crises for the gaming industry in Macao. This would provide a useful reference for the society and government of Macao in handling them.展开更多
