Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) measurement and microanalysis were adopted in order to understand the microstructure evolution and deformation behavior of the as-cast NiTi SMA under compression at various strain rates and temperatures. The microstructures of as-cast NiTi SMA composed of dendritic grains and equiaxed grains are inhomogeneous and show segregation. The as-cast NiTi SMA consists of B19′ martensite, B2 austenite and Ti2Ni phase simultaneously at room temperature. The as-cast NiTi SMA is sensitive to strain rate under compression at high temperature, at which NiTi SMA is characterized by dynamic recrystallization at strain rates of 0.1 and 0.01 s-1, but by dynamic recovery at strain rate of 0.001s-1. The strain rates have little influence on the true stress—strain curves as well as microstructure of NiTi SMA at room temperature and -100 °C.展开更多

The automatic organization whole refers to a life body with the thinking. The thinking is the core of automatic organization. The thinking is at eternal restless motion and binds to substances. The universe, organism and society are the automatic organization unities or life systems with the thinking. The thinking can perceive, attract, drive, organize and control all individuals and it is a force of life structure or universal gravitation and universal repulsion. The thinking has a life structure, a template and dynamic of entity-life's automatic organization. Life body has five dynamic systems: the thinking motion and information flow, breathing motion, closed-loop current (particle flow) and energy flow, interaction among state-varying, state-stabilizing and control organizations and active & automatic chemical-physical reactions, cardiac pulsation and active motion and transportation. Human, galaxies and society can change from low to high energy state initiatively. This is realized by controlling the desires of life entity via the thinking and breathing motions and by altering the body's binding forces dominating the life entity (in turn, by bond force, strong interaction and quark confinement). All forces in the universe present in the universe of life: force of the thinking-universal gravitation and universal repulsion, electromagnetic interaction, bond force, strong interaction, quark confinement and weak interaction. Under the automatic organization of the thinking, these forces bind into a 4-season' whole. The united state of these forces is controlled by the thinking and breathing motion, which is capable of changing from 3-, 2- and 1-dimensional states to a 0-dimensional state.展开更多

Our results imply that some qutrits states display both distillability sudden death and entanglement sudden death, while some states do not display distillability sudden death but only entanglement sudden death.展开更多

The results show a dextral strike-slip feature in the Weifang- Tancheng segment and sinistral strike-slip in the Tancheng-Lujiang segment. And the deformation perpendicular to the Tancheng-Lujiang fault zone alternates between tension and compression in different time-intervals. Then we resolve the relative rigid motion of blocks around Bohai Bay to the Circum-Bohai Sea area by deducting the entire rigid motion of the Circum-Bohai Sea area. We find that the Yanshan-Bohai seismic belt split this area into two parts, the northern part moving NW,and the other SE.展开更多

The secondary purpose was to determine the extent that gender issues and the transition age (50-65) are specifically addressed. Of 3,256 titles identified, 111 articles meet the inclusion criteria. Information was often indirect but addressed varying health domains that significantly influence transitional stages toward retirement and illustrating the burden of chronic comorbid health problems, unequal gender positions with differences in labour force participation, retirement pensions, and changing social dynamics. Few studies directly addressed the complex interaction of chronic health outcomes, psychological well-being, social and financial health as a significant paradigm in determining a successful transition into retirement. Needed are prospective longitudinal studies that measure predictors and outcomes of retirement transitioning along with qualitative studies that define the decision-making process. Given the substantial differential impact in respect to retirement risk factors and opportunities, there must be consideration in design and analysis for future high quality research.展开更多

How do we recognize the characteristics of global seismic activities with space observation technology? A preliminary model of Cellular Automata that could simulate the global seismic activities both in time and space has been established based on the results of global strain rate field provided by the GSRM Program. The grid of the model is evenly divided, which is consistent with that of GSRM.The status of each cell is its strain state, and is adjusted according to the evolution rules.Maximum shear strain criterion is adopted in the evolution of the Cellular Automata. The threshold for cells in surface expansion is 80% of that for those in compression. The preliminary model could in general simulate the main characteristics of the distribution of the global seismic activities. It could exhibit in general the global distribution of weak and active tectonic activities. Although the preliminary Cellular Automata model needs to be improved in many aspects, the result suggests the possibility of modeling the general features of rather complicated global seismic activities based on the strain rates obtained by GPS and other observations.展开更多

With the increase of strain amplitude, internal friction (IF) of the alloy increases in martensite and austenite states while decreases in transformation region. Based on the regularity of IF attenuation in isothermal condition, IFTr and (IFpT+ 1FI) are decomposed from the strain amplitude dependent IF in transformation region. For practical application of shape memory alloys as a damping material, it is significant to evaluate the damping capacity by eliminating the influence of IFTr and consider its time independent real IF (IFpT+ IFI).展开更多

Clinical data on TCM symptom patterns in patients with colorectal cancer in the perioperative period(210 cases) and adjuvant treatment period(160 cases)were collected. EPIData 3.1 together with frequency statistics and cluster analyses were performed to identify the TCM patterns based on symptom characteristics in patients with colorectal cancer, and to assess the dynamic changes in these patterns.RESULTS: In the perioperative period, from the first day of perioperative care to postoperative days 3,7, and 10, the TCM pattern showed a process of dynamic change from blood deficiency to deficiency of both Qi and Yin and the pattern of dampness and hot accumulative knotting. In the adjuvant treatment period, the TCM pattern changed from Qi deficiency and Yin deficiency inner-heat with dampness to a deficiency pattern, primarily including Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, deficiency of Qi and blood, and spleen deficiency.CONCLUSION: Our study confirmed that variations in the dynamic evolution of TCM symptom patterns exist in patients with colorectal cancer during different treatment periods. This information is of great value in the individualized management of colorectal cancer.展开更多

It is thought to influence how traits evolve and in some cases to promote speciation. Recently there has been increasing interest in how sexual imprinting itself evolves. Theoretical work on polygynous mating systems predicts that females will evolve paternal imprinting, which means they learn to prefer phenotypes expressed by their fathers. In nature however, females of some species learn to prefer phenotypes expressed by their mothers instead. We used a dynamical systems model and tools from adaptive dynamics to study how sexual imprinting evolves in species with socially monogamous mating systems. We considered cases in which the target trait for imprinting is un- der viability selection but is not a reliable signal of paternal investment. Thus, the target trait signals the genetic benefits rather than the parental care benefits of mate choice. When mating is socially monogamous and there is some extra-pair patemity, we show that maternal imprinting can be favored over paternal imprinting. Counterintuitively, females often become choosier when selecting social partners in systems where extra-pair mating is more frequent. That is, females may be more selective when choosing social partners that will sire a smaller percentage of their offspring. Our results offer new testable hypotheses, and ad- vance our understanding of the mechanisms that drive the evolution of mate choice strategies in nature .展开更多

We find that the granular flow under non-uniform force field can be well described by a density wave with fixed time period if a fixed partiele number condition is used. The base frequency of the density wave does not depend on the position of the flow, while both the average density and oseillation amplitude of the flow vary continuously with the position. The formation of the density wave results from the aggregation of the granules in the decelerated region and the feed-back mechanism in the fixed particle number condition.展开更多
