[Method] With typical sodic saline-alkaline paddy fields of Songnen Plain as study object, field test method was used to explore the dynamic changes was strong alkof nitrogen in paddy field of the region and its potential impact on environment. [Result] The soil in test regionaline with high CEC and C/N ratios,as well as poor preserving capacity of fertilizer. During the two-year field experiment, the indicators of salinization fluctuated. Initially, the concentrations of total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen reached their maximum values, then decreased over time as a result of heavy rain. The maximum of nitrate concentration appeared later than those of total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen. Ammonia volatilization accounted for 18.9%-28.8% of the nitrogen loss. The total nitrogen concentration in surface water was higher than the national Class Ⅲ surface water environmental quality standard. The concentration of ammonia from the recession flow of agricultural field was considerably high, which would potentially threaten the fishery in the downstream of Chagan Lake. [Conclusion] The study provided theoretical basis for saline-alkaline soil management and conservation of water and fishery resources.展开更多

During the evolvement process, human activities have a decisive effect. The purpose of studying vulnerable ecological region is to control human economic activities and to develop a negative feedback modulation mechanism. This paper established a model of vulnerable ecological region's evolvement by considering four synthetic variables. These synthetic variables are ecological carrying capacity, ecological resilience, economic development intensity, and economic development velocity. Finally, Ongniud Banner and Aohan Banner in North China were taken as study cases to simulate the evolvement processes of vulnerable ecological regions under different conditions of economic development. The results show that human activities have an important influence on the evolvement trend of vulnerable ecological region.展开更多

Soil erosion is the first eco-environmental problem particularly in mountainous areas. A major problem in the conversion of farmland to forest is to control soil erosion and improve ecological environment and thus to improve land use sustainability. We report results of calculation and analysis on soil erosion from converted farmland parcels in city of Mangshi (near the SW frontier of China) and the surrounding areas before and after the nine-year (2000-2009) project of converting farmland to forest. There was increased water conservation effect, as a result of decreased soil erosion. The average erosion modulus of the farmland returning to eco-friendly uses decreased by 5,535.59 t/km2·a and the control degree of soil erosion modulus reached 71.00%. The increased soil erosion after the returning in the typical sample area "did not drop, but increased" as the terraced fields decreased but sloping farmland inereased and yet woodland decreased.展开更多

Soil is not onlya certain substance or a certain independent natural historical body but also a spheric layer with peculiarstructure and functions in the earth system. From the viewpoint of the geo-biosphere system of earth, soilscience does deal not only with the soil substances per se but also more importantly with the relationshipsamong soil, the other spheres and the human survival environment in view of the "pedosphere". This is thenew orientation of soil science today and will affect profoundly the studies on the human survival environmentand global changes. To throw more light on this subject, the present paper intends to address the conceptionof pedosphere and its role in global changes. Also addressed are series of environmental issues in China andtheir relations to the global changes. Moreover, research orientation and priorities are indicated, includingexploitation and protection of the soil resources, soil fertility and sustainable agricultural development, construction of the ecological environment, and the material cycling in pedosphere and its relation to globalchanges.展开更多

Among them, 21.05% were abandoned during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, 21.05% during the end of the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties, and 57.9% during the Ming and Qing dynasties. At the same time, main lakes were shrinking rapidly from the 5th Century to the 6th Century and the end of the Qing Dynasty. The climate in these periods was relatively arid and cold with frequent dusts. The phase of these changes indicated that there were three periods of desertification enlargement in the northern China. They were Northern and Southern Dynasties, the end of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties, the Ming and Qing dynasties. The macro-process of desertification in the study area was controlled mainly by the climatic changes. But from the facts that the population density in the middle of Qing Dynasty had exceeded the critical index of population pressure in arid area and the usage rate of water resources had exceeded 40% in Hexi Corridor, this paper also suggests that human activities have played an important role in desertification processes of the study area mainly during the recent 300 years.展开更多

The temporal-spatial variability of SOC stockswas determined in a basin of over 579 km^2 in subtropical China from 1981to 2002. ArcGIS8.l softwarewas utilized for spatial analysis of semivariance, ordinary kriging (OK), and probability kriging(PK). Grid and hierarchical approaches were employed for the sampling scenario in 2002 with 106Global Position System (GPS) established spots sampled. Bulk topsoil samples (0—30 cm) werecollected at three random sites on each spot. The SOC content for 1981 came from the SOC map of theSecond National Soil Survey. Geostatistical results of the nugget to sill ratio (0.215-0.640)in therehabilitating ecosystem indicated a moderate spatial dependence for SOC on this large scale. Therange of SOC changed from 2.04 km in 1981 to 7.15 km in 2002. The mean topsoil SOC increased by 4.6%from 10.63 g kg^(-1) (1981) to 11.12 g kg^(-1)(2002). However, during this 21-year period 25.2% ofthe total basin area experienced a decrease in SOC. Also, the probability kriging results showedthat the geometric mean probabilities of SOC <= 6.0 g kg^(-1), <= 11.0 g kg^(-1) and > 15.0 gkg^(-1) were 0.188, 0.534 and 0.378, respectively in 2002, comparing to 0.234, 0.416 and 0.234 inthat order in 1981, respectively. The SOC storage in the topsoil increased by 17.0% during this timewith the main increase occurring in forests and cultivated land, which amounted to 82.5% and 17.0%of the total increase, respectively.展开更多

We monitored nutrients, temperature, dissolved oxygen,p H,conductivity,turbidity,chlorophyll-a and phytoplankton levels. The lower biomass in all flowing enclosures showed that flow rate significantly inhibited the growth of phytoplankton. A critical flow rate occurred near 0.06 m/s,which was the lowest relative inhibitory rate. Changes in flow conditions affected algal competition for light, resulting in a dramatic shift in phytoplankton composition, from blue-green algae in still waters to green algae in flowing conditions. These findings indicate that critical flow rate can be useful in developing methods to reduce algal bloom occurrence. However, flow rate significantly enhanced the inter-relationships among environmental variables,in particular by inducing higher water turbidity and vegetative reproduction of periphyton( Spirogyra). These changes were accompanied by a decrease in underwater light intensity, which consequently inhibited the photosynthetic intensity of phytoplankton. These results warn that a universal critical flow rate might not exist, because the effect of flow rate on phytoplankton is interlinked with many other environmental variables.展开更多

Lateral friction and overlapping driving are introduced to describe the interactions between motorized vehicles and non-motorized vehicles. By numerical simulations, the flux-density relation, the temporal-spatial dynamics, and the velocity evolution are investigated in detail The results indicate non-motorized vehicles have a significant impact on the motorized vehicle flow and cause the maximum flux to decline by about 13%. Non-motorized vehicles can decrease the motorized vehicle velocity and cause velocity oscillation when the motorized vehicle density is low. Moreover, non-motorized vehicles show a significant damping effect on the oscillating velocity when the density is medium and high, and such an effect weakens as motorized vehicle density increases. The results also stress the necessity for separating motorized vehicles from non-motorized vehicles.展开更多

The great increase of urban population has resulted in various environmental changes, of which urban water shortage and water environment problems have occurred in most cities, especially in the rapidly developing urban agglomerations in the eastern coastal region. This research, taking Shandong Peninsula Urban Agglomeration (SPUA) as a case study area analyzes the urbanization expansion in the last decades, discusses the water shortage and water environment changes following the rapid economic development and urbanization sueh as groundwater sinking in the urban and plain area, sea water and saltwater intrusion in the coastal cities, water pollution overspreading and water ecosystem degradation, and puts forwards some strategies for sustainabilitv in populous regions with severe water shortage. Some countermeasures for sustainable development of SPUA are put forward, such as constructing modern water resources inter-city networks to regulate water resouree between cities, adjnsting urbanization policy and urban scale planning to promote the development of small towns and medium sized cities, optimizing urban industry structure by restricting high water consumption enterprises and stimulating the growth of tertiary industry. improving water use efficiency to rednce fresh water consumption and wastewater discharge, introducing economic means to water pricing and water management system, and restoring ecological conditions to strengthen the natural water-making capacity.展开更多

We identified the modal parameters with the stochastic subspace identification( SSI) algorithm, and continuously monitored the temporal velocity variation with coda wave interferometry. The results show that:( 1) the highly sensitive Guralp CMG-6TD broadband seismometer, which records the three-component vibration signal within broad frequency range,is well suited for long-term bridge health monitoring.( 2) With the continuous vibration signal from ambient excitation, the stochastic subspace algorithm can robustly identify the low-order modal parameters and the coda wave interferometry can accurately monitor the tiny velocity variation.( 3) The elastic modulus of bridge materials changes significantly associated with varying temperature, leading to diurnal velocity variation with amplitude of approximately 1%. The velocity variation shows strong negative correlation with temperature fluctuation. Meanwhile, the modal frequencies remain quite stable, suggesting that the velocity variation may be a more sensitive quantitative damage index.( 4) While the modal frequencies reflect the integrated health status of the bridge, the velocity variation can be utilized to monitor the local elastic modulus. Therefore,it is crucial for bridge health monitoring to continuously monitor the two key damage indexes under ambient excitation.展开更多

Some countermeasures for sustainable development of SPUA are put forward, such as constructing modern water resources inter-city networks to regulate water resouree between cities, adjnsting urbanization policy and urban scale planning to promote the development of small towns and medium sized cities, optimizing urban industry structure by restricting high water consumption enterprises and stimulating the growth of tertiary industry. improving water use efficiency to rednce fresh water consumption and wastewater discharge, introducing economic means to water pricing and water management system, and restoring ecological conditions to strengthen the natural water-making capacity.

文摘The problem of global warming has been identif ied as the f irst in the list of the top ten environmental prob-lems in the world. As climate change will seriously affect the social and natural world that people live in,so it may lay serious repercussions on economic progress, social improvement, and sustainable development.International bodies everywhere and many of the countries' governments are responding urgently to this call.In recent years, climate change has affected different regions in China in different ways.In its national agenda, the Chinese government should address the problem of climate change and its negative impact on socio-economic development. In this endeavor the nation should introduce policies which will help its people and economy to adapt to these effects and changes.Priorityf ields of adaptation to climate change are the sensitive areas or departments which are more vulnerable to the negative influences of climate change. The negative impacts of climate change in some parts of China are considered to be very serious indeed as they affect the whole economy and community. As a result, priority should be given to these more affected regions for the limited state f inancing. This paper def ines adaptation and discusses the basic principles and programs in the identif ication of national priority areas where adaptation should be exercised.Based on the past studies, four priority areas in China are identif ied, namely, disaster prevention and mitigation, water resources, agriculture, and ecosystem. An analysis on the identifi cation procedures, and the reasons and tasks involved are given for each.

文摘Based on statistical analysis on morphological data of nebkhas surveyed in the Hotan River Basin,Xinjiang, the changing regularity and characters of nebkhas’ morphology in different development stageshave been discussed. Results indicate that there exist better correlation among length, width and altitudeof all kinds of nebkhas, but there are certain various shape characters in different nebkhas and the sametype of nebkhas in differential development stages. On account of analysis on mathematical imitation ofnebkhas’ shape characters, regional ecological environmental and aeolian characters, the development ofthe nebkha can be divided into a growing stage, a stabilizing stage and a declining stage.

文摘We conducted a long-term monitoring experiment on the Lutuanxilu Bridge located in Changping District of Beijing, employing our recently developed real-time bridge monitoring system based on the Guralp CMG-6TD broadband seismometer. Therefore,it is crucial for bridge health monitoring to continuously monitor the two key damage indexes under ambient excitation.

文摘New open manufacturing environments have been proposed aiming at realizing more flexible distributed manufacturing paradigms, which can deal with not only dynamic changes in volume and variety of products, but also changes of machining equipments, dispersals of processing locations, and also with unscheduled disruptions. This research is to develop an integrated process planning and scheduling system, which is suited to this open, dynamic, distributed manufacturing environment.Multi-agent system(MAS)approaches are used for integration of manufacturing processing planning and scheduling in an open distributed manufacturing environment,in which process planning can be adjusted dynamically and manufacturing resources can increase/decrease according to the requirements. One kind of multi-level dynamic negotiated approaches to process planning and scheduling is presented for the integration of manufacturing process planning and scheduling.
