A new method for simultaneous determination of four phthalate esters ( PAEs) in commercial fat-containing foods was developed by the combination of a packed nanofibers column based on solid-phase extraction with gas...A new method for simultaneous determination of four phthalate esters ( PAEs) in commercial fat-containing foods was developed by the combination of a packed nanofibers column based on solid-phase extraction with gas chromatography-flame ionization detector ( GC-FID ). Conditions for obtaining optimum extraction efficiency such as extraction solvents, morphologies of adsorbent, ion strength and pH were investigated and optimized in detail. Under the optimized conditions, the limits of detection (LODs) found for dibutyl phthalate (DBP) , butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), diethyl hexyl phthalate (DEHP) and di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP) were 50, 25, 50 and 25 ng/g, respectively. Good linearity of four PAEs was achieved in the range of 50 to 4 000 ng/g. The proposed method was applied for analyzing different kinds of fat-containing samples. PAEs in commercial fat-containing samples can be highly extracted by a packed solid-phase extraction column of 5 mg polystyrene ( PS) nanofibers. The satisfactory average recoveries were obtained in the range of 96. 7% to 102. 3% , and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) below 5% were achieved. The proposed method reduces the organic solvent consumption, the complex and tedious procedures for sample pretreatment, and achieves high sensitivity and reproducibility for the investigated PAEs.展开更多

Dibenzothio- phe...Homogeneous oxidation using an oil-soluble oxidant, tert-amyl hydroperoxide (TAHP), for ultra-deep desulfurization was performed under mild conditions in the presence of molybdenum oxide catalysts. Dibenzothio- phene (DBT), benzothiophene (BT) and 4, 6-dimethyl-dibenzothiophene (DMDBT), which are the refractory sulfur compounds for hydrodesulfurization (HDS), were employed as model substrates for a simulated diesel fuel. Activity of molybdenum oxide supported on a macroporous weak acidic resin was investigated. The mass conversion of DBT reached near 100% at 90℃ and a TAHP/DBT molar ratio of 3 with 1% of molybdenum oxide supported on Amberlite IRC-748 resin for 1 h. It was further found that the activities of the model substrates decreased in the or- der of DMDBT 〉DBT 〉BT. In the flow oxidation using TAHP as the oxidant, mass conversion of DBT increased remarkably from 61.3% to 98.5% when dropping the weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) from 40 h^-1 to 10 h^-1. A series of experiments dealt with selectivity of this oxidation using TAHP revealed that the model unsaturated compounds, i.e. 4, 6, 8-trimethyl-2-nonylene, and 2-methylnaphthalene did not affect the oxidation of DBT. Carbazole had nearly no effect on the conversion of DBT using TAHP, but had some influence on the one using tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP). The mass conversion of DBT decreased remarkably from 75.2% to 3.6% when the content of carbazole increased from 0 to 500μg·g^-1. In the flow oxidation using TAHP as the oxidant, the concentration of DBT in model fuels was reduced from 500 μg·g^-1 to 7.2 μg·g^-1 at WHSV of 10 h^-1, and then reduced to 3.8 μg·g^-1 by adsorntion of Al2O3.展开更多

FAS inhibitors are widely existed in pl...Fatty acid synthase (FAS) attracts more and more attention recently as a potential target for metabolic syndrome,such as cancer, obesity, diabetes and cerebrovascular disease. FAS inhibitors are widely existed in plants, consisting of diversiform compounds. These inhibitors exist not only in herbs also in many plant foods, such as teas, allium vegetables and some fruits. These effective components include gallated catechins, theaflavins,flavonoids, condensed and hydrolysable tannins, thioethers,pentacyclic triterpenes, stilbene derivatives, etc, and they target at the different domains of FAS, showing different inhibitory mechanisms. Interestingly, these FAS inhibitor-contained herbs and plant foods and their effective components are commonly related to the prevention of metabolic syndromes including fatreducing and depression of cancer. From biochemical angle,FAS can control the balance between energy provision and fat production. Some studies have shown that the effects of those effective components in plants on metabolic syndromes are mediated by inhibiting FAS. This suggests that FAS plays a critical role in the regulation of energy metabolism, and the FAS inhibitors from plants have significant potential application value in the treatment and prevention of metabolic syndromes.展开更多

A series of biodegradable aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters, poly(butylene terephthalate-co-butylene adipate-co- ethylene terephthalate-co-ethylene adipate) (PBATE), were synthesized from terephthalic acid (PTA), adipic...A series of biodegradable aliphatic-aromatic copolyesters, poly(butylene terephthalate-co-butylene adipate-co- ethylene terephthalate-co-ethylene adipate) (PBATE), were synthesized from terephthalic acid (PTA), adipic acid (AA), 1,4-butanediol (BG) and ethylene glycol (EG) through direct esterification and polycondensation. The sequence structure and crystallinity of the copolyester were investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopy and the wide-angle X-ray diffractometry (WAXD). The analytical results showed that the PBATE copolyester was a random copolymer and the composition of PBATE copolyester was almost consistent with the feed molar ratios. The crystal structure of PBATE copolyester belonged to the triclinic crystalline system; The variation in melting point of the synthesized PBATE copolyester agreed well with the estimation obtained by the Flory equation and was applicable to the random copolymer.展开更多

Castor oil, phenolic resin were taken in the molar ratio 0.07:0.027 and diethylene glycol (DEG) was also taken in varying hydroxyl numbers to achieve chemical modification in the backbone of synthesized polyol. Physico-chemical properties like acid value, OH value and moisture content of the modified polyol were measured. The prepared phenolic resin blended polyol were reacted with 4, 4-methylene diisocyanate and 2, 4-toluene diisocyanate to formulate the two component polyurethane (PU) coatings. Prepared coating is used to study properties such as gel time, surface dry, tack free and hard surface drying times. It was found that phenolic resin and diethyleneglycol used in synthesizing castor oil based modified polyols show the significant changes in physico-chemical properties of synthesized polyols. The variation in physico-chemical properties of synthesized polyol provide the information for desirable curing of polyurethane systems.展开更多
A phosphorus-containing bio-based epoxy resin(EADI)was synthesized from itaconic acid(IA)and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide(DOPO).As a matrix,its cured epoxy network with methyl hexahydrophthalic a...A phosphorus-containing bio-based epoxy resin(EADI)was synthesized from itaconic acid(IA)and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide(DOPO).As a matrix,its cured epoxy network with methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride(MHHPA)as the curing agent showed comparable glass-transition temperature and mechanical properties to diglycidyl ether in a bisphenol A(DGEBA)system as well as good flame retardancy with UL94 V-0 grade during a vertical burning test.As a reactive flame retardant,its flame-resistant effect on DGEBA/MHHPA system as well as its influence on the curing behavior and the thermal and mechanical properties of the modified epoxy resin were investigated.Results showed that after the introduction of EADI,not only were the flame retardancy determined by vertical burning test,LOI measurement,and thermogravimetric analysis significantly improved,but also the curing reactivity,glass transition temperature(T g),initial degradation temperature for 5%weight loss(T d(5%)),and flexural modulus of the cured system improved as well.EADI has great potential to be used as a green flame retardant in epoxy resin systems.展开更多

The influence of these anodes on FOLED (Flexible Organic Light-emitting Diodes) is investigate...The transparent ITO/Ag/ITO multi-layers are developed as anodes on flexible PET (poly(ethylene terephthalate)) substrates. The influence of these anodes on FOLED (Flexible Organic Light-emitting Diodes) is investigated. From the results of research, it can be seen that the multi-layer anode has optimum characteristics, whose sheetresistance is 11 Ω and optical transmittance is about 80%,when the thickness of Ag sandwiched by two ITO layers is in the range of 14--18 nm. It is demonstrated that the OLED devices with multi-layer anodes give better luminescence and higher efficiency compared with those with single ITO anodes.展开更多
