The current state-of-the-art is based on the long-running observation records of the meteorological stations. However, it is common for the developing states to have only relatively short and/or intermittent record histories. The issue becomes even more aggravated under an effort to assess the climatic trends for specific territories with few meteorological stations. The paper offers a simple and effective technique to handle the climate observations; the technique makes the most complete use of an available data set by counting the data provided by all meteorological stations including those with short records and omissions. The method is based on numeric differentiation of source data samples.展开更多

For the purpose to improve the eff...The inlet attack angle of rotor blade reasonably can be adjusted with the change of the stagger angle of inlet guide vane (IGV); so the efficiency of each condition will be affected. For the purpose to improve the efficiency, the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) controller is designed to adjust the stagger angle of IGV automatically in order to optimize the efficiency at any operating condition. The A/D signal collection includes inlet static pressure, outlet static pressure, outlet total pressure, rotor speed and torque signal, the efficiency can be calculated in the DSP, and the angle signal for the stepping motor which control the IGV will be sent out from the D/A. Experimental investigations are performed in a three-stage, low-speed axial compressor with variable inlet guide vanes. It is demonstrated that the DSP designed can well adjust the stagger angle of IGV online, the efficiency under different conditions can be optimized. This establishment of DSP online adjustment scheme may provide a practical solution for improving performance of multi-stage axial flow compressor when its operating condition is varied.展开更多

It needs to continuously evolve to reflect changes in data. Existing auto...Taxonomy is generated to effectively organize and access large volume of data. A taxonomy is a way of representing concepts that exist in data. It needs to continuously evolve to reflect changes in data. Existing automatic taxonomy generation techniques do not handle the evolution of data; therefore, the generated taxonomies do not truly represent the data. The evolution of data can be handled by either regenerating taxonomy from scratch, or allowing taxonomy to incrementally evolve whenever changes occur in the data. The former approach is not economical in terms of time and resources. A taxonomy incremental evolution(TIE) algorithm, as proposed, is a novel attempt to handle the data that evolve in time. It serves as a layer over an existing clustering-based taxonomy generation technique and allows an existing taxonomy to incrementally evolve. The algorithm was evaluated in research articles selected from the computing domain. It was found that the taxonomy using the algorithm that evolved with data needed considerably shorter time, and had better quality per unit time as compared to the taxonomy regenerated from scratch.展开更多

We have investigated the structure evolution of the ^124-134Xe isotopic chain in the framework of the proton-neutron interacting model IBM2. The positive parity spectra of the ground state, quasi-β and quasi-γ bands...We have investigated the structure evolution of the ^124-134Xe isotopic chain in the framework of the proton-neutron interacting model IBM2. The positive parity spectra of the ground state, quasi-β and quasi-γ bands are reproduced well. The staggering in ^124-130Xe are almost completely removed and the ? band agree well with the experiment data, even for the high-spin quasi-3 states. The key quantities of the collective structure evolution, including level energies, the B(E2) transition branching ratios, and the M1 excitations to 11^+ mixer-symmetry states are analyzed by comparing with the experimental data. The parameters for representation of the Oπν(6) and SUπν^*(3) features in isotopes are examined. Both experimental data and theoretical results show that the shape phase transition of ^124-134Xe isotopic chain is from the SUπν^* (3) (triaxial rotation) to the Uπν(5) (vibration motion) with a considerable constituent of the Oπν(6) symmetry (γ-unstable rotation), where the shape phase transition rapidly takes place between the neutron number N = 76 and N = 78.展开更多
