An improved deformable model is used to simultaneously segment and register feature from multiple images. The objects in the image pair are segmented by evolving a single contour and meanwhile the parameters of affine registration transformation are found out. After that, a contour-constrained elastic registration is applied to register the images correctly. The experimental results indicate that the proposed approach is effective to segment and register medical images.展开更多
This work considers those road networks in which there are multi-route choices for bifurcation-destination(or origin-destination) pairs, and designs a real-time variable message sign(VMS)-based routing control strateg...This work considers those road networks in which there are multi-route choices for bifurcation-destination(or origin-destination) pairs, and designs a real-time variable message sign(VMS)-based routing control strategy in the model predictive control(MPC) framework. The VMS route recommendation provided by the traffic management authority is directly considered as the control variable, and the routing control model is established, in which a multi-dimensional control vector is introduced to describe the influence of route recommendations on flow distribution. In the MPC framework, a system optimum routing strategy with the constraints regarding drivers' acceptability with recommended routes is designed, which can not only meet the traffic management authority's control requirement but also improve drivers' satisfaction with the route guidance system. The simulation carried out shows that the proposed routing control can effectively mitigate traffic congestion, reduces followers' time delay, and improves drivers' satisfaction with routing control in road networks.展开更多
In snow-icy road environment, the survey data indicate that the largest decrease in traffic flow running characters occurs when snow and ice begin to accumulate on the road surface. Saturation flow is decreased by 16%...In snow-icy road environment, the survey data indicate that the largest decrease in traffic flow running characters occurs when snow and ice begin to accumulate on the road surface. Saturation flow is decreased by 16% , speed is decreased by 30% , and start-up lost time is increased by 27%. Based on the signal control theory of HCM and Webster, the character values of traffic flow in different urban road environments were investigated, and the evolvement regularity of signal control parameters such as cycle, split, green time, offset, yellow time and red time in snow-icy road environment was analyzed. The impact factors and the changes in the scope of signal control parameters were achieved. Simulation results and practical application show that the signal control plan of road enviromnent without snow and ice will increase the vehicle delay, stop length and traffic congestion in snow-icy road environment. Thus, the traffic signal control system should address a suitable signal control plan based on different road environments.展开更多

In this model, put forward for the first time using "the space-time distance" to replace "the space- linear distance" and "the city comprehensiveness quality- fuzzy comprehensive assessment Index" to "the urban population or GDP'. Set up the algorithm of including "the space- time distance" and the city radiation scope changed with the changes of traffic conditions. Thus has realized "dynamically" tracing of the city radiation scope influenced by the traffic conditions. Taking Yichang city as an example, the paper analyzed the city function localization in the times of new traffic environments. Because China's cities are at the times of the traffic great changes, therefore, the method and the main conclusions of this paper have some methodology guiding sense to the majority cities of deffernt country to re-position.展开更多

It is a common comorbidity in intensive care units (ICU), resulting in delayed withdrawal of mechanical ventilation, prolonged length of stay in ICU, increased ICU mortality and impaired long-term cognitive function of the survivors. Narcotic or psychoactive medication is one of the major risk factors that contribute to ICU delirium. Surveys conducted in several countries indicated that delirium in ICU was inad- equately monitored, underdiagnosed and lacked standardized treatment. In order to improve the prevention and treatment of ICU delirium, it is imperative that the ICU professionals should enrich their knowledge about this comorbidity, familiarize themselves with its screening and management, as well as standardize the administration of narcotic and psychoactive medications.展开更多
