Rock bursts with source in the seismic tremor within the roof rock layers are prevailing. A seismic tremor is an effect of rupture or sliding in roof layers above the exploited panel in coal seam, sometime in a distance from actual exploitation. Sliding, as a rule occurs in fault zone and tremors in it are expected, but monolithic layer rupture is very hard to predict. In a past few years a practice of analyzing state of deformation in high energy seismic tremors zones has been employed. It let gathering experience thanks to witch determination of dangerous shape of reformatted roof is possible. In the paper some typical forms of roof rocks deformations leading to seismic tremor occurrence will be presented. In general these are various types of multidirectional rock layers bending. Real examples of seismic events and rock bursts will be shown.展开更多

It has carried out the analysis and research on the deformation measurement level of the building subsidence, as well as put forward requirements on the benchmark, layout and observation. Smoothly attaching the stretchable epidermal electronic devices(EEDs) onto the skin surface is highly desired to improve the measurement accuracy of electrophysiological signal.The paper presents an analytical approac...Smoothly attaching the stretchable epidermal electronic devices(EEDs) onto the skin surface is highly desired to improve the measurement accuracy of electrophysiological signal.The paper presents an analytical approach to study interfacial mechanics of the 2D planar EEDs on the checkerboard buckling patterns of human skin.Energy variation method is proposed to determine a criterion whether EEDs laminate conformally onto the skin surface under undeformed and stretched cases.EEDs with low bending stiffness(thin,soft devices/backing layer),smooth and soft skin,and strong adhesion promote conformal contact.Furthermore,the adhesion energy at the EED/skin interface is measured by the homemade peeling experiment platform with different substrate thicknesses and areal coverages.The upper limit of the areal coverage for EED conformal contact with the skin is proposed with given EED/skin properties.Conformability of EEDs are validated by experiments with different substrate thickness,areal coverage and external loadings.It provides a design guideline for EED to conformally contact with the skin surface for more accurate biological signal monitoring.展开更多
The "solidified liquid layer" model has been examined using a quartz crystal microbalance(QCM) with a polymeric matrix.The model is shown to give a reasonable explanation for the following experimental obser...The "solidified liquid layer" model has been examined using a quartz crystal microbalance(QCM) with a polymeric matrix.The model is shown to give a reasonable explanation for the following experimental observations:(i) The opposite response of the QCM and surface plasmon resonance(SPR) for the activation process;(ii) the marked difference in the responses for IgG/anti-IgG interaction between QCM and SPR.Theoretical analysis and experimental results indicated that QCM is sensitive to the thickness change of the "solidified liquid layer" but not the mass of captured biomolecules(i.e.,the immobilized mass),implying caution must be taken in interpreting QCM results.展开更多
