Two novel adaptive distributed target detectors, the range frequency domain-Rao (RFD-Rao) and range frequency domain-Wald (RFD-Wald) tests are proposed in this work. The application methods for these tests consider a partially homogeneous disturbance environment and a target range walking effect in a coherent processing interval (CPI). The asymptotic performance of the detectors is analyzed, and the constant false alarm rate (CFAR) properties with respect to the clutter covariance matrix and power level are shown. The performances of the proposed adaptive detectors are assessed through Monte-Carlo simulations, and the results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed detection algorithms compared to those of similar existing detectors. 展开更多

Outburst floods caused by breaches of landslide dams may cause serious damages and loss of lives in downstream areas; for this reason the study of the dynamic of the process is of particular interest for hazard and risk assessment. In this paper we report a field-scale landslide dam failure experiment conducted in Nantou County, in the central of Taiwan.The seismic signal generated during the dam failure was monitored using a broadband seismometer and the signal was used to study the dam failure process.We used the short-time Fourier transform(STFT) to obtain the time–frequency characteristics of the signal and analyzed the correlation between the power spectrum density(PSD) of the signal and the water level. The results indicate that the seismic signal generated during the process consisted of three components: a low-frequency band(0–1.5 Hz), an intermediate-frequency band(1.5–10 Hz) and a highfrequency band(10–45 Hz). We obtained the characteristics of each frequency band and the variations of the signal in various stages of the landslide dam failure process. We determined the cause for the signal changes in each frequency band and its relationship with the dam failure process. The PSD sediment flux estimation model was used to interpret the causes of variations in the signal energy before the dam failure and the clockwise hysteresis during the failure. Our results show that the seismic signal reflects the physical characteristics of the landslide dam failure process. The method and equipment used in this study may be used to monitor landslide dams and providing early warnings for dam failures. 展开更多

In this paper, we first give a case study supporting the relation, which does not rely on the localization technique. Especially, we show that the magnetic expansion also satisfies a relation of Matone's type. A three-step damage identification method based on dynamic characteristics is proposed to improve the structure reliability and security and avoid serious accident. In the proposed method, the frequency and difference of modal curvature(DMC) are used as damage indexes. Firstly, the detection of the occurrence of damage is addressed by the frequency or the square of frequency change. Then the damage location inside the structure is measured by the DMC. Finally, with the stiffness reduction rate as a damage factor, the amount of damage is estimated by the optimization algorithm. The three-step damage identification method has been validated by conducting the simulation on a cantilever beam and the shaking table test on a submerged bridge. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively solve the damage identification problem in theory and engineering practice. 展开更多

A new cross-channel interference suppression method is proposed to decrease the cross-channel interference in beat signals based on the short time Fourier transform (STY3") and the inverse short time Fourier transform (ISTFT) when the dual-orthogonal polarimetric frequency-modulated continu- ous wave (FMCW) radar adopts the opposite-slope linear frequency modulation signal pair in the simultaneous measurement mode. The STFT is applied only on the signals in the cross-interference intervals in the four polarimetric channels to decrease the computation complexity. A mask matrix for suppressing the interference is constructed using the constant false alarm ratio (CFAR) detection on the spectrograms by the STFY. The simulative results show that the cross-channel interference is effi- ciently suppressed by the proposed method. The comparison between the proposed method and the rejection method verifies the improved performance of the proposed method. 展开更多

We studied the compressional wave event in Pc5 frequency range observed in the dawn-side magnetic equator on 9 March 1998 by Grad-Shafranov(GS) reconstruction method for the first time. To test the effectiveness of application of GS method on Pc5 compressional wave, we benchmarked our procedure by applying it to a one-dimensional current sheet model first. Excluding the left-hand corners, the average error magnitude was less than 10%. The reconstruction of actual data showed that we obtained the 2-D map of compressional wave without suffering model constraints for the first time. The magnetic filed lines density cyclical changed, and the wavelength was about 2-4 times earth radius. The reconstructed magnetic topology had a shape very similar to the empirical 2-dimensional standing wave model proposed by the former workers. Besides, we also recovered the plasma thermal pressure and current density of the wave quantitatively. 展开更多

In order to suppress the fast decrease of the transfer efficiency of magnetic resonance coupled wireless power transfer system(MRCWPTS) with distance increase,this paper investigates the impact factors of the system transfer efficiency and is,then formulates a new efficiency optimal control method based on frequency control.Based upon this control method two optimal control schemes are designed to achieve transfer efficiency control of the system.Simulations and experiments show that the proposed efficiency optimal control method can effectively stabilize the system transfer efficiency in a certain range so as to successfully solve the subtle issue of transfer efficiency variation with distance. 展开更多
