RFe 7Mn 4Ti samples (R=Y,Tb,Dy,Ho,Er) were prepared by means of vacuum arc-melting and subsequent vacuum annealing. The structure and magnetic properties of RFe 7Mn 4Ti compounds were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction and magnetic measurements. The following conclusions were obtained: all the RFe tMn 4Ti compounds crystallize in the ThMn 12-type structure. The lattice constants and the unit-cell volume changed with the increase of atomic number for R=Y, Tb, Dy, Ho, and Er. The compensation characters appear for the DyFe 7Mn 4Ti and HoFe 7Mn 4Ti compounds, and the compensation temperatures were about 123 K and 90 K, respectively. The Curie temperature, the saturation magnetization, and saturation moment of RFe 7Mn 4Ti compounds were given.展开更多

However, since the list of materials that may gen- erate such concerns is very long, it is impossible to test them all. It is therefore usually recommended to use some small compositional nanomaterial libraries to perform ini- tial toxicity screening, based on which combinatorial libraries are then introduced for more in-depth studies. All nanomaterials in the compositional and combinatorial libraries must be rigorously characterized before any bio- logical studies. In this review, several major categories of physicochemical properties that must be characterized are discussed, along with different analytical techniques that are commonly used. Some case studies from the University of California Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology are also chosen to demonstrate the effec- tive use of compositional and combinatorial nanomaterials libraries to identify the role of some key physicochemical properties and to establish true quantitative structure-ac- tivity relationships. Examples on how to use the knowledge generated from those studies to design safer nanomaterials for improved biological applications are also presented.展开更多

For this kind of games, the cooperation among unions and within each union will be the convex sets, i.e., the feasible subsets of the coalition structure and that of each union belong to a convex geometry, respectively. The explicit form of the generalized Owen value for this kind of games is given, which can be seen as an extension of the Owen value. Eklrthermore, two special cases of this kind of games are researched. The corresponding Davoff indices are also stHdied. Fin~.llv ~n ilhl^r~'i, ~r^l~ to ~展开更多

The widely used Mualem model is inadequate for deformable soils because of its assumption of a rigid pore structure and the resultant unique dependence of the tortuosity factor on the volumetric water content. In this study, a unified relationship between the relative permeability and the effective degree of saturation was proposed for deformable soils by incorporating our newly developed water retention curve model into the original Mualem model, in which a new tortuosity factor was defined using the fractal dimension of flow paths and the mean radius of water-filled pores for representing the effect of pore structure variation. The modified deformation-dependent relative permeability model was verified using test data on five types of soils; the verification revealed a much better performance of the proposed model than the original model, which commonly overestimates the relative permeability of deformable soils. Finally, the proposed model was implemented in a coupled numerical model for examining the unsaturated flow and elastoplastic deformation processes in a soil slope induced by rain infiltration. The numerical results showed that the deformation-dependent nature of relative permeability has a remarkable effect on the elastoplastic deformation in the slope and that neglect of the deformation-dependent behavior of relative permeability causes overestimation of the depth of failure.展开更多
