The interaction between the active chips mounted and the same base plate is considered as a thermoelectrical coupling effect.An approach to coupling effect analysis of a multi-chip system is presented with IGBT as a sample.Finite element method is used to evaluate the temperature distribution in power modules.The precise electrothermal model is obtained by fitting the curve of transient thermal impedance with a finite series of exponential terms,in which,the thermal-coupling effect among chips is considered as a prediction of the highest transient temperature of the chips.This model can be used in many thermal monitoring systems.Both ANSYS and PSPICE si- mulation software have been employed,and the simulation results agree with the experimental ones very well. 展开更多

The extent of liquid mixing is calculated by means of a mixing pool model. The results indicate that liquid mixing in a downcomer is actually incomplete. It is a significant correction to the assumption of complete downcomer mixing or no downcomer mixing which is generally adopted in many distillation calculations. Besides, the present results are used in a two dimensional eddy diffusion model to calculate the distillation tray efficiency. It is shown that the assumption of complete downcomer mixing is closer to the actual situation than that of no downcomer mixing. 展开更多

A programmable multi-modulus frequency divider is designed and implemented in a 0. 35μm CMOS process. The multi-modulus frequency divider is a single chip with two dividers in series,which are divided by 4 or 5 prescaler and by 128-255 multi-modulus frequency divider. In the circuit design, power and speed trade-offs are analyzed for the prescaler, and power optimization techniques are used according to the input frequency of each divider cell for the 128-255 multimodulus frequency divider. The chip is designed with ESD protected I/O PAD. The dividers chain can work as high as 2.4GHz with a single ended input signal and beyond 2.6GHz with differential input signals. The dual-modulus prescaler consumes 11mA of current while the 128-255 multi-modulus frequency divider consumes 17mA of current with a 3.3V power supply. The core area of the die without PAD is 0.65mm × 0.3mm. This programmable multi-modulus frequency divider can be used for 2.4GHz ISM band PLL-based frequency synthesizers. To our knowledge, this is the first reported multi-modulus frequency divider with this structure in China. 展开更多

A multi-parameter nonlinear elasto-plastic constitutive model which can fully capture the three typical features of stress-strain response, linearity, plasticity-like stress plateau and densification phases was developed. The functional expression of each parameter was determined using uniaxial compression tests for aluminum alloy foams. The parameters of the model can be systematically varied to describe the effect of relative density which may be responsible for the changes in yield stress and hardening-like or softening-like behavior at various strain rates. A comparison between model predictions and experimental results of the aluminum alloy foams was provided to validate the model. It was proved to be useful in the selection of the optimal-density and energy absorption foam for a specific application at impact events. 展开更多

An optimized method is presented to design the down scalers in a GHz frequency synthesizer. The down scalers are comprised of dual modulus prescaler (DMP) and programmable & pulse swallow divider,different methods of high frequency analog circuit and digital logical synthesis are adopted respectively. Using a DMP high speed, lower jitter and lower power dissipation are obtained,and output frequency of 133.0MHz of the DMP working at divide-by-8 shows an RMS jitter less than 2ps. The flexibility and reusability of the progrs, mmable divider is high;its use could be extended to many complicated frequency synthesizers. By comparison,it is a better design on performance of high-frequency circuit and good design flexibility. 展开更多

Then, considering some environmental factors influencing on leaf photosynthesis, three numerical sensitivity experiments were carried out. We simulated the sing le leaf net CO2 assimilation, which acts as a function of different light, carbo n dioxide and temperature conditions. The relationships between leaf net photosy nthetic rate of C3 and C4 plant with CO2 concentration intercellular, leaf tempe rature, and photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) were presented, respectively. The results show the numerical experiment may indicate the main characteristic o f plant photosynthesis in C3 and C4 plant, and further can be used to integrate with the regional climate model and act as land surface process scheme, and bett er understand the interaction between vegetation and atmosphere. 展开更多

An improved D-latch is proposed to increase the speed and the driving capability of the DMP. A novel D-latch architecture integrated with ‘OR' logic is proposed to decrease the complexity of the circuit. A divided-by-16/17 DMP for application in a digital video broadcasting-terrestrial receiver is realized with a TSMC 0.18μm mixed-signal CMOS process. The programmable & pulse swallow divider in this receiver is designed with a 0.18μm CMOS standard cell library and realized in the same process. The measured results show that the DMP has an output jitter of less than 0.03% and works well with the programmable & pulse swallow divider. 展开更多

A non-linear continuum damage model was presented based on the irreversible thermodynamics framework developed by LEMAITRE and CHABOCHE. The proposed model was formulated by taking into account the influence of loading frequency on fatigue life. The parameters H and c are constants for frequency-independent materials, but functions of cyclic frequency for frequency-dependent materials. In addition, the expression of the model was discussed in detail at different stress ratios (R). Fatigue test data of AlZnMgCu1.5 aluminium alloy and AMg6N alloy were used to verify the proposed model. The results showed that the model possesses a good ability of predicting fatigue life at different loading frequencies and stress ratios. 展开更多

By using some methods in the risk theory, uniform asymptotics for finite-time ruin probability is derived in a non-compound risk model, where claim sizes are upper tail asymptotically independent random variables with dominatedly varying tails, claim inter-arrival times follow the widely lower orthant dependent structure, and the total amount of premiums is a nonnegative stochastic process. Based on the obtained result, using the method of analysis for the tail probability of random sums, a similar result in a more complex and reasonable compound risk model is also obtained, where individual claim sizes are specialized to be extended negatively dependent and accident inter-arrival times are still widely lower orthant dependent, and both the claim sizes and the claim number have dominatedly varying tails. 展开更多

A scheme of a frequency-hopping frequency-synthesizer applied to a Bluetooth ratio frequency (RF) front-end is presented,and design of a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and dual-modulus prescaler are focused on.It is fabricated in a 0.18 μm mixed-signal CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor transistor) process.The power dissipation of VCO is low and a stable performance is gained.The measured phase noise of VCO at 2.4 GHz is less than -114.32 dBc/Hz.The structure of the DMP is optimized and a novel D-latch integrated with "OR" logic gate is used.The measured results show that the chip can work well under a 1.8 V power supply.The power dissipation of the core part in a dual modulus prescaler is only 5.76 mW.An RMS jitter of 2 ps is measured on the output signal at 118.3 MHz.It is less than 0.02% of the clock period. 展开更多

Based on the transport phenomena theory, the passive mixing of water and ethanol in different threedimensional microchannels is simulated numerically. The average variance of water volume fraction is used to index the mixing efficiency in the cases with different Reynolds number and different fabricated mixers. The results show that the efficiency of liquid mixing is progressively dependent on the convective transport as the Reynolds number increases. The efficiency of serpentine microchannel decreases with the increasing Reynolds number in the laminar regime. Altering the aspect ratio of channel inlet section has no significant effect on the mixing efficiency. Increasing the area of channel inlet section will cause the decrease of the mixing efficiency. The mixing in serpentine channels is the most efficient among three different mixers because of the existence of second flow introduced by its special structure. 展开更多

It consists of two coupled models, a device load model to characterize the power consumption of an electric device of interest, and a user intention model for describing the user intentions which cause the energy consumption. The advantage of this joint model is the ability to predict the device load from the user intention and to reconstruct the user intention from the measured device load. After reviewing three different definitions of mode field diameter of single-mode fibers, coupled efficiency calculation methods associated with lateral offset, longitude separation and wavelength, the effects produced by them, and the influences of splicing defects were discussed in detail. The regularities of the effects were studied according to the first order derivation of couple efficiency formula, and a simplified formula for couple efficiency calculation was presented under the circumstance of slight misalignment, with respect to wavelength, 2, and in a good agreement with the theoretical model. The simplified formula provides a new but simple approach to evaluate wavelength dependent couple efficiency of single-mode fibers. Theoretical analyses and numerical calculations show that, when those defects exist, the wavelength produces additional effects on the couple loss that growth of wavelength causes an increase on the couple efficiency for the lateral offset or longitude separation whereas lessens the couple efficiency due to angular misalignment or mode fields mismatching, and that the wavelength degrades the couple efficiency distinctly when λ≥2.5 μm whereas it distorts the couple slightly in range of λ≤2λ≤2 μm. 展开更多
