The specific research object is the runoff of the outfall of rainwater-sewage confluence in the area. On the basis of detecting and analyzing the water yield and water quality of the runoff of rainwater-sewage confluence a combined technology which contains four independent continuous processes for lowering pollution load was developed and system equipment was established and put into operation. The processing effects of the project were monitored and analyzed. The results show that the pollution control project of outfall runoff is efficient which decreases the pollution load including chemical oxygen demand COD total phosphorus TP suspended solids SS and ammonia-nitrogen NH3-N .As a result the water environment of the ancient canal is protected.展开更多

Results show that Cu, Pb, Fe, Zn and Cr in the sediments are mainly distributed in residual fraction, while the major chemical association of Mn is carbonates. Carbonate heavy metals are converted into Fe-Mn oxides in autumn. And in the low tidal flat, after carbonates have changed into ionic heavy metals, some of the elements are transported to the overlying water. Cu, Pb, Fe and Mn have good correlations with each other, and Zn, Cr also show their similarity of chemical behavior in the sediments.展开更多

This seepage may alter the local temperature, salinity, and subsequent accumulation of the gas hydrate. Using a kinetic gas hydrate formation model and in situ measurement of tempera- ture, salinity and fluid flux at the southern summit of Hydrate Ridge, we simuIate the gas hydrate accumulation at three distinct fluid sites: clam, bacterial mat, and gas discharge sites. At the clam sites (pore water flux 〈 20 kg m-2 yr-1), pore water advec- tion has little influence on temperature and salinity. However, the salinity and temperature are increased (peak salinity 〉 0.8 tool kg-1) by the formation of gas hydrate causing the base of the hydrate stability zone to move gradually from -115 to -70 meters below seafloor (mbsf). The gas hydrate saturation at the clam sites is relatively high. The water flux at the bacterial mat sites ranges from 100 to 2500 kg m-2 yr-1. The water flow suppresses the increase in salinity resulting in a salinity close to or slightly higher than that of seawater (〈 0.65 mol kg-l). Heat advection by water flow increases temperature significantly, shifting the base of the hydrate stability zone to above 50 or even 3 mbsf. The gas hydrate saturation is relatively low at the bacterial mat site. At the gas discharge sites, the pore water flux could reach 10^10 kg m-2 yr-1, and the temperature could reach that of the source area in 9 min. There is no gas hydrate formation at the gas discharge sites. Our simulative analysis therefore reveals that a lower pore water flux would result in lower salinity, higher temperature, and a shallower base of the hydrate sta- bility zone. This in turn induces a lower gas hydrate formation rate, lower hydrate saturation, and eventually less gas hydrate resources.展开更多

It showed good removal performance for chemical oxygen demand (COD), oil content, suspended solids (SS), and other pollutants. However, serious membrane fouling occurred. It was recognized that the extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) accumulated on the membrane surface, especially the proteins, were of great importance for the transmembrane pressure (TMP) increment and membrane fouling. The MBR was optimized via improving aeration rate and reducing the ratio of Ar/Ad (At and Ad are the cross-sectional areas of the riser and the downcomer of the MBR). The increasing rate of TMP was slowed, indicating that the optimization strategy could effectively mitigate membrane fouling. Microbial community evolution was monitored and analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE), cloning, and sequencing of 16S ribosomal ribonucleic acid (rRNA) fragments. Results revealed that low community shift occurred during the whole operational period. Geobacter sp. and Rhodocyclales sp., which have also been identified by other studies in a petroleum refinery wastewater MBR or an infiltration basin receiving highway runoff, dominated in the MBR system throughout. Comamonas sp. was thought to accommodate the lower aeration rate in this study, while Rhodocyclales sp. preferred the higher aeration rate. In addition, during the operational time under high organic loading rate, a few species were present in abundance, and may have been responsible for the good removal performance at this time.展开更多

The viral genomic RNA is sequestered in the nucleocapsid in every step of the virus replication cycle. The structure of the nucleocapsid and the entire virion revealed how the viral genomic RNA is encapsidated and packaged in the virus. A unique mechanism for viral RNA synthesis is derived from the structure of the nuleocapsid and its interactions with the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase.展开更多

Methods: Sixty female Wistar rats (weighting 200 ± 20 g) were randomly divided into normal control group, wound group and combined wound-local radiation (CWR) group (25 Gy local radiation post wound), 20 rats in each group. Contents of IL-1β, IL-6 and IFN-γ and IL-4 in serum were measured and changes of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and glucocorticoid (GC) in serum were analyzed by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and radioimmunologic assay, respectively at different time points post wound and radiation. Results: (1) The level of IFN-γ, one of the Thl cell cytokines increased significantly at 14 d post CWIL which was markedly higher than that in control group and wound group. However, the level of IL-4, IL-1β and IL-6, one of the Th2 cell cytokines, did not show obvious change. (2) Ratio of Thl/Th2 (IFN-γ/IL-4) in wound group and CWR group increased significantly at 7 d after wound and radiation, which suggested that Thl/Th2 balance drifted to Thl immune response. The ratio of Thl/Th2 in wound group returned to the normal level up to 14 d after the wound and radiation, while the Thl/Th2 ratio in CWR group increased persistently and was much higher than that in control and wound groups. (3) Level of serous ACTH and CC in CWR group increased at 3 d post wound and radiation, and among them, level of CC showed statistically significant increase, which was much higher than that in control and wound groups. Conclusion: Level of serous neurohormone CC in rats increased significantly immediately after wound and radiation; while the level of IFN-γ showed significant increase only up to 14 d after wound and radiation, and the Th1/Th2 imbalance sustained till 28 d post wound and radiation. In order to reduce acute damage caused by CWR, organic immune system and nerve system showed up a marked regulate effects simultaneously and mutually. Nonetheless, the excessive stress induced by CWR causes distur- bance of immunoregulation, which is one of the key reasons for delayed wound healing in CWR.展开更多
