The influence of solution treatment and aging on microstructural evolution and mechanical behavior of NiTi alloy was systematically investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and compression test. Solution treatment contributes to eliminating the Ti2Ni phase in the as-received NiTi sample, in which the TiC phase is unable to be removed. Solution treatment leads to ordered domain of atomic arrangement in NiTi alloy. In all the aged NiTi samples, the Ni4Ti3 precipitates, the R phase and the B2 austenite coexist in the NiTi matrix at room temperature, while the martensitic twins can be observed in the NiTi samples aged at 873 K. In the NiTi samples aged at 573 and 723 K, the fine and dense Ni4Ti3 precipitates distribute uniformly in the NiTi matrix, and thus they are coherent with the B2 matrix. However, in the NiTi sample aged at 873 K, the Ni4Ti3 precipitates exhibit the very inhomogeneous size, and they are coherent, semi-coherent and incoherent with the B2 matrix. In the case of aging at 723 K, the NiTi sample exhibits the maximum yield strength, where the fine and homogeneous Ni4Ti3 precipitates act as the effective obstacles against the dislocation motion, which results in the maximum critical resolved shear stress for dislocation slip.展开更多

The as-cast microstructure is typical dendritical structure, consisting of α(Al), Al(FeMn)Si, Mg2Si, AlCuMgSi and Si phases. The electron diffraction analyses indicate that the Al(FeMn)Si phase is Al15(FeMn)3Si2 and the AlCuMgSi phase is Q(Al1.9CuMg4.1Si3.3). There are two kinds of Mg2Si phases in the as-cast microstructure. One is formed in the casting process, and the other is formed in the cooling process after casting process is finished. The phases have different crystal structures. After homogenization treatment at 545 ℃ for 20 h, Mg2Si, Si and Q intermetallic compounds are dissolved into matrix completely, and the remaining phases are α(Al) and Al15(FeMn)3Si2. The size of Al15(FeMn)3Si2 phase is decreased, and the phase is spheroidized and distributes along grain boundary discontinuously. The Zn-containing phases are not found during solidification and homogenization process.展开更多

The results show that the lamellar structure is fabricated by heating the samples in the singleB2 phase field and cooling slowly in the furnace. Aging treatments are conducted in the (O+B2) phases field by air cooling. After aging at 700 °C for a short time within 100 h, there is no significant change of microstructures, whereas the coarsening of lamellae is observed in the long-term aged microstructure. Ti?22Al?26Nb?1Zr alloy exhibits microstructural instability including the severe dissolution ofB2 lamella, discontinuous precipitation and spheroidization of O phase during the long term aging process at 700 °C up to 800 h. In addition, a pronounced formation of branch-shapedO phase lamella is observed for the alloy aged over 100 h.展开更多

The simulation results show that Al concentration has important effects on the precipitation sequence. When Al concentration in Ni75AlxV25-x alloy is low, 0(Ni3V) ordered phase will be firstly precipitated, followed by γ'(Ni3Al) ordered phase. With Al concentration increasing, θ and γ' ordered phases are simultaneously precipitated. With A1 concentration further increasing, γ' ordered phase is firstly precipitated, followed by θ ordered phase. There is a competition relationship between θ and γ' ordered phases during growth and coarsening process. No matter which first precipitates, θ ordered phase always occupies advantage in the competition process of coarsening, thus, the microstructure with preferred orientation is formed.展开更多

The results show that the main phases are S(Al2CuMg), T(Al2Mg3Zn3) and Mg Zn2, with a small amount of Al7Cu2 Fe and Al3 Zr in the as-cast 7X50 alloy. The volume fraction of the dendritic-network structure and residual phase decreases gradually during the homogenization. After homogenization at 470 °C for 24 h and then 482 °C for 12 h, the T(Al2Mg3Zn3) phase disappears and minimal S(Al2CuMg) phase remains, while almost no change has happened for Al7Cu2 Fe. There is a strong endothermic peak at 477.8 °C in the DSC curve of as-cast alloy. A new endothermic peak appears at 487.5 °C for the sample homogenized at 470 °C for 1 h. However, this endothermic peak disappears after being homogenized at 482 °C for 24 h. The T(Al2Mg3Zn3) phase cannot be observed by XRD, which is consistent with that T phase is the associated one of S(Al2CuMg) phase and Mg Zn2 phase. The volume fraction of recrystallized grains is substantially less in the plate with pre-homogenization treatment. The strength and fracture toughness of the plate with pre-homogenization treatment are about 15 MPa and 3.3 MPa·m1/2 higher than those of the material with conventional homogenization treatment.展开更多

The results show that severe dendritic segregation exists in the as-cast ingot. There are many secondary phases, includingTB(Al7Cu4Li),θ(Al2Cu),R(Al5CuLi3) andS(Al2CuMg) phases, and a small amount of (Mg+Ag+Zn)-containing and AlCuFeMn phases. The fractions of intermetallic phases decrease sharply after 2 h of second-step homogenization. By prolonging the second-step homogenization time, theTB,θ,R,S and (Mg+Ag+Zn)-containing phases completely dissolve into the matrix. The dendritic segregation is eliminated, and the homogenization kinetics can be described by a constitutive equation in exponential function. However, it seems that the AlCuFeMn phase is separated into Al7Cu2Fe and AlCuMn phases, and the size of Al7Cu2Fe phase exhibits nearly no change when the second-step homogenization time is longer than 2 h.展开更多

The microstructure evolution of γ′ phase, TCP phase and dislocation characteristic after creep rupture was studied by SEM and TEM. The results show that the alloy has excellent creep properties. Two different types of creep behavior can be shown in the creep curves. The primary creep is characterized by the high amplitude at test conditions of (760 °C, 600 MPa) and (850 °C, 550 MPa) and the primary creep strain is limited at (980 °C, 250 MPa), (1100 °C, 140 MPa) and (1120 °C, 120 MPa). In the model, the growth rates or changing rates of transportation volumes for the various transportation modes of a city are determined not only by the GDP per capita which reflects the size of the city itself, but also by the relationship of competition and cooperation among transportation modes. The results of empirical analysis for Chinese cities show that the allometric growth exponent in the equation for the variation rate of passenger demand volume on rail is greater than the predicted value of 1/4 in metabolic ecology, whereas the allometric growth relationship is not so evident in the equation for the variation rate of passenger demand volume on road. The changing rate of road transportation is thus mainly affected by the relationship of competition and cooperation among transportation modes for Chinese cities.展开更多

It is believed that the higher the TiB2+Al2O3 content is, the more the regular shapes and homogeneous distributions of TiB2 and Al2O3 will be present in the NiAl matrix.

文摘The metabolic evolution model of transportation demand for comprehensive transportation systems is put forward on the basis of a metabolic theory of ecology. The changing rate of road transportation is thus mainly affected by the relationship of competition and cooperation among transportation modes for Chinese cities.

文摘The microstructure evolution of a new directionally solidified(DS) Ni-based superalloy used for gas turbine blades after long-term aging at 950 ℃ was investigated. The results show that the γ ' phase becomes more regular in dendritic arm and interdendritic area, while both the mass fraction and the size of γ ' phase increase gradually with increasing aging time.During long-term aging, the MC carbide dissolves on the edge to provide the carbon for the formation of M23C6 carbide by the precipitation of Cr at the grain boundary. The rose-shaped γ '/γ eutectic partly dissolves into γ matrix and the aging promotes it transform into raft-shape γ '.The microstructure is generally stable and no needle-like topologically close-packed phase(TCP) can be found after aging for 1 000 h.
