Ti?6Al?4V ELI (Extra low interstitial) alloy was also investigated to make a comparison. The results show that TNTZF alloy has higher corrosion potential, lower corrosion current density, more stable passive current density and wider passive region compared with Ti–6Al–4V ELI alloy, which indicates that TNTZF alloy has better corrosion resistance. In addition, pitting corrosion is observed on the surface passive film of Ti–6Al–4V ELI alloy but is not found on that of TNTZF alloy. The XPS analysis results reveal that the passive film formed on TNTZF alloy is composed of Nb2O5, NbO2, Ta2O5, ZrO2, TiO and Ti2O3oxides in the matrix of TiO2, which makes the passive film more stable and protective than that formed on Ti?6Al?4V ELI alloy and contributes much to its superior corrosion resistance.展开更多

The Ti-Al coating was fabricated on the surface of electro-deposited nickel layer on copper matrix followed by the slurry pack cementation process. The effects of slurry pack cementation temperature on the microstructures and wear resistance of Ti-Al coating were studied. The results show that the microstructure of the coating changed from NiAl+Ni3(Ti,Al) to NiAl +Ni3(Ti,Al)+Ni4Ti3 to Ni4Ti3+NiAl, and to NiAl+Ni3(Ti,Al)+NiTi with slurry pack cementation temperature ranging from 800 ℃ to 950 ℃ in 12 h. The friction coefficient of Ti-Al coating decreased and the hardness increased with increasing the slurry pack cementation temperature. The minimum friction coefficient was 1/3 and the minimum hardness was 5 times larger than that of pure copper.展开更多

Porous stainless steel with the same pore structure parameter as porous FeAl was fabricated by powder metallurgy method for comparison. The results show that the tortuosity factor of porous FeAl intermetallics is smaller than that of porous stainless steel when their pore structure parameters are the same. But in clinical applications, the mechanical failure of HAP-coated titanium alloy implant suffered at the interface of the HAP coatings and titanium alloy substrate will be a potential weakness in prosthesis. The effects of sintering temperature on phase constitution, pore structure and oxidation resistance of porous Fe-Al intermetallics were systematically investigated. Porous Fe-Al materials with high open porosity(65%) are synthesized via a low-energy consumption method of TE at a temperature of 636 ℃ and FeAl intermetallic is evolved as dominant phase in sintered materials at 1000 ℃. The porous materials are composed of interconnected skeleton, large pores among skeleton and small pores in the interior of skeleton. The interstitial pores in green powder compacts are the important source of large pores of porous Fe-Al intermetallics, and the in-situ pores from the melting and flowing of aluminum powders are also significant to the formation of large pores. Small pores are from the precipitation of Fe-Al intermetallics particles. In addition, the porous specimens exhibit high resistance to oxidation at 650 ℃ in air.展开更多

This research investigated the effects of addition of Ag, Bi, In, and Sb on the physical properties of the Sn-0.6 Cu-0.05 Ni-Ge(SCNG) lead-free solder and the interfacial reaction with the Cu substrate. The melting behavior, microstructure, tensile strength, and wettability of the SCNG-x(x=Ag, Bi, In, Sb) solders were examined. The findings revealed that the introduction of Ag, Bi, In, and Sb minimally altered the solidus temperature, liquidus temperature, and tensile strength of the solder. However, the cooling behavior and solidified microstructure of the solder were affected by the concentration of the alloying elements. The wettability of the SCNG solder was improved with the doping of the alloying elements except Sb. The thickness of intermetallic layer was increased by the addition of the alloying elements and was related to the cooling behavior of the solder. The morphology of intermetallic layer between the SCNG-x solders and the Cu substrate was different from that of the typical SAC solders. In conclusion, alloying the SCNG solder with Ag, Bi, In or Sb is able to improve particular properties of the solder.展开更多

文摘Porous FeAl-based intermetallics were fabricated by thermal explosion(TE) from Fe and Al powders. In addition, the porous specimens exhibit high resistance to oxidation at 650 ℃ in air.

文摘The Sn-Cu-Ni-Ge solder is a strong challenger to the Sn-Ag-Cu(SAC) solders as a replacement for the Sn-Pb eutectic solder. In conclusion, alloying the SCNG solder with Ag, Bi, In or Sb is able to improve particular properties of the solder.

文摘Some magnetocaloric materials were used successfully in magnetic refrigeration application and became one of the critical parts of magnetic refrigeration technology whose delightful progresses were made worldwide in the past 30 years. At the same time, the research on giant magnetocaloric materials will accelerate the development of room temperature magnetic refrigeration. In this paper, the new theoretical and experimental investigations on magnetic materials in room temperature application were described, including Gd and its binary and ternary intermetallic compounds, Mn-based compounds, La(Fe13-xMx)-based compounds and manganites. Based on the analysis of hysteresis, corrosion, cost and heat process, the comparison between different families of magnetic materials was discussed. Further research of room temperature magnetic refrigerant was suggested.
