A simple control structure in servo system is occasionally needed for simple industrial application which precise and high control performance is not exessively important so that the cost production can be reduced efficiently. Simplified vector control, which has simple control structure, is utilized as the permanent magnet synchronous motor control algorithm and genetic algorithm is used to tune three PI controllers used in simplified vector control. The control performance is obtained from simulation and investigated to verify the feasibility of the algorithm to be applied in the real application. Simulation results show that the speed and torque responses of the system in both continuous time and discrete time can achieve good performances. Furthermore, simplified vector control combined with genetic algorithm has a similar perfofmance with conventional field oriented control algorithm and possible to be realized into the real simple application in the future. 展开更多

A sliding mode and active disturbance rejection control(SM-ADRC)was employed to regulate the speed of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM).The major advantages of the proposed control scheme are that it can maintain the original features of ADRC and make the parameters of ADRC transition smoothly.The proposed control scheme also ensures speed control accuracy and improves the robustness and anti-load disturbance ability of the system.Moreover,through the analysis of a d-axis current output equation,a novel current-loop SM-ADRC is presented to improve the system’s dynamic performance and inner ability of anti-load disturbance.Results of a simulation and experiments show that the improved sliding-mode ADRC system has the advantages of fast response,small overshoot,small steady-state error,wide speed range and high control accuracy.It shows that the system has strong anti-interference ability to reduce the influence of variations in rotational inertia,load and internal parameters. 展开更多

This work proposes a new strategy to improve the rotor position estimation of a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) over wide speed range. Rotor position estimation of a PMSM is performed by using sliding mode observer(SMO). An adaptive observer gain was designed based on Lyapunov function and applied to solve the chattering problem caused by the discontinuous function of the SMO in the wide speed range. The cascade low-pass filter(LPF) with variable cut-off frequency was proposed to reduce the chattering problem and to attenuate the filtering capability of the SMO. In addition, the phase shift caused by the filter was counterbalanced by applying the variable phase delay compensation for the whole speed area. High accuracy estimation result of the rotor position was obtained in the experiment by applying the proposed estimation strategy. 展开更多

In view of the variation of system parameters and external load disturbance affecting the high-performance control of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),a fractional order integral sliding mode control(FOISMC)strategy is developed for PMSM drive system by means of fractional order sliding mode observer(FOSMO).Based on FOISMC technology,a fractional order integral sliding mode regulator(FOISM-based regulator)is designed,and a global integral sliding mode surface design method is presented,which can guarantee the global robustness of the system.Combining fractional order theory and sliding mode control theory,the FOSMO is constructed to achieve better identification accuracy of the speed and rotor position.Meanwhile the sliding mode load observer is used to observe the load torque in real time,and the observed value is transmitted to speed regulator to improve the capability of accommodating the challenge of load disturbance.Simulation results validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 展开更多

Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is widely used in mining, and there exists chaotic behav- ior when it runs. In order to dispel its adverse effect on security in mining, the chaotic system of PMSM was analyzed. With noise disturbances, the complex dynamic characteristics of chaos were also analyzed, and proved the objective existence of chaos. As we all know, it is very difficult for conventional PMSM control to meet the design requirements, therefore, in order to ensure the robustness of the system, the chaotic orbits were stabilized to arbitrary chosen fixed points and periodic orbits by means of sliding mode method. Finally MATLAB simulations were presented to confirm the validity of the controller. The results show that the PMSM with the sliding mode control has a good dynamic performance and steady state accuracy. 展开更多

With the increasing requirement for the mechanical vibration and acoustic noise of the permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)drive system,the demand for cogging torque reduction of PMSM has been considerably increased.To solve the problem of oversized cogging torque of axial flux PMSM,a rotor topology with hybrid permanent magnet is proposed to weaken the cogging torque.Firstly,the expression of the cogging torque of the axial flux motor is derived,and the influence of the pole-arc ratio of the permanent magnet on the cogging torque is analyzed.Secondly,the rotor structure with hybrid permanent magnet is adopted to reduce the cogging torque.According to the analytical analysis,the constraints of the size and pole-arc ratio between the hybrid permanent magnets are obtained,and the two permanent magnets related to the minimum cogging torque are determined.And the analysis results are verified by the finite element simulation.Furthermore,the motor performance with and without the hybrid permanent magnet is compared with each other.Finally,the cogging torque is significantly reduced by adopting a rotor structure with hybrid permanent magnets. 展开更多

In the design of the motor used for electric vehicles(EVS),vibration and noise problems are often ignored,which reduce the reliability and service life of the motor.In this paper,an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM)with high power density is taken as an example,and its electromagnetic vibration and noise problem is investigated and optimized.Firstly,the factors that generate the electromagnetic force harmonic of IPMSM are analyzed by theoretical derivation.Furthermore,the mode and electromagnetic harmonic distribution of the motor are calculated and analyzed by establishing the electromagnetic-structure-sound coupling simulation model.Then,by combining finite element method(FEM)with modern optimization algorithm,an electromagnetic vibration and noise performance optimization method is proposed in the electromagnetic design stage of the motor.Finally,an IPMSM is optimized by this method for electromagnetic vibration and noise performance.The results of comparison between before and after optimization prove the feasibility of the method. 展开更多

The mathematical model of PMSM in a stationary αβ reference frame is adopted, and the system is controlled by the digital signal processor ( DSP; TMS320LF2407 according to the control achieve closed loop operation of the motor, the stator theory of sliding mode observer. In order to magnetic field should be vertical with the rotor magnetic field and be synchronous with rotor rotating, so the position and speed of PMSM is estimated in real time and the estimated position is modified continuously. The simulation results indicate that the proposed observer has high precision is more robust to the parametric variation and load in estimation of PMSM position and speed, and torque disturbance. 展开更多

Aimed at the problems of large torque ripple,obvious chattering and poor estimation accuracy of back-EMFs in traditional permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)control system with sliding mode observer(SMO),an improved control strategy for PMSM based on a fuzzy sliding mode control(FSMC)and a two-stage filter sliding mode observer(TFSMO)is proposed.Firstly,a novel reaching law(NRL)used in the speed loop based on hyperbolic sine function is studied,and fuzzy control ideal is shown to achieve the self-turning of the parameter for the reaching law,thus a fuzzy integral sliding mode controller based on the novel reaching law is designed in speed loop.Then the suppression effect upon chattering caused by the novel reaching law is analyzed strictly by discrete equation.Secondly,in order to restrain the high frequency components and measurement noise in back-EMFs,a two-stage filter structure based on a variable cut-off frequency low-pass filter(VCF-LPF)and a modified back-EMF observer(MBO)is conceived,and the rotor position is compensated reasonably.As a result,a TFSMO is designed.The stability of the proposed control strategy is proved by Lyapunov Criterion.The simulation and experiment results show that,compared with traditional SMO,the controller suggested above can obtain very nice system respond when the motor starts and is subjected to external disturbances,and effectively improve the problems about torque ripple,chattering and the estimation accuracy of back-EMF. 展开更多

For a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)model predictive current control(MPCC)system,when the speed loop adopts proportional-integral(PI)control,speed regulation is easily affected by motor parameters,resulting in the inability to balance the system robustness and dynamic performance.A PMSM optimal control strategy combining linear active disturbance rejection control(LADRC)and two-vector MPCC(TV-MPCC)is proposed.Firstly,a mathematical model of a PMSM is presented,and the PMSM TV-MPCC model is developed in the synchronous rotation coordinate system.Secondly,a first-order LADRC controller composed of a linear extended state observer and linear state error feedback is designed to reduce the complexity of parameter tuning while linearly simplifying the traditional active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)structure.Finally,the conventional PI speed regulator in the motor speed control system is replaced by the designed LADRC controller.The simulation results show that the speed control system using LADRC can effectively deal with the changes in motor parameters and has better robustness and dynamic performance than PI control and similar methods.The system has a fast motor speed response,small overshoot,strong anti-interference,and no steady-state error,and the total harmonic distortion is reduced. 展开更多

Based on the property of passive system, the essential conditions were studied, by which Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor chaotic system could be equivalent to passive system. Using Lyapunov stability theory, the convergence condition deciding the system's characters was discussed. A discontinuity of magnetic circuits according to the end effect is generated in the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). Due to the unbalanced back electro-motive force (EMF) and impedance produced, unbalanced current is generated. The cireulatin8 current, which is caused by a decrease in the thrust, is generated by the unbalanced current. The optimal design of auxiliary-teeth at the end of the mover was carried out to solve the unbalance of phase by using design of experiment (DOE), and compared with the basic model through finite element analysis (FEA). As a result, the auxiliary-teeth model compensates for the decrease of thrust caused by the unbalanced phase. Also, this model is proven to reduce the detent force by the vibration and noise of the PMLSM and copper loss caused by the circulating current. 展开更多
