This system consists of a mobile robot with a two-axis manipulator and a tele-operation station. In the visual guiding mode, for the robot works in an open loop visual servo control mode, the manipulating burden of the operator is reduced largely. In the visual servo mode the robot can locate the position of the target assigned by the operator and pick it up by its manipulator. In order to optimize the sintering process, a real-time operation guide system with artificial intelligence was developed, mainly including the data acquisition online subsystem, the sinter chemical composition controller, the sintering process state controller, and the abnormal conditions diagnosis subsystem. Knowledge base of the sintering process controlling was constructed, and inference engine of the system was established. Sinter chemical compositions were controlled by the strategies of self-adaptive prediction, internal optimization and center on basicity. And the state of sintering was stabilized centering on permeability. In order to meet the needs of process change and make the system clear, the system has learning ability and explanation function. The software of the system was developed in Visual C++ programming language. The application of the system shows that the hitting accuracy of sinter compositions and burning through point prediction are more than 85%; the first-grade rate of sinter chemical composition, stability rate of burning through point and stability rate of sintering process are increased by 3%, 9% and 4%, respectively. 展开更多

High-level languages such as C++/SystemC can play multiple roles in system design as target languages. There are many practical problems in the application of object-oriented methods for this goal. Based on the analysis of traditional and system-level design methodology, a new object-oriented SOC design methodology with object-oriented design patterns is proposed, which emphasizes high-level design and verification. Aiming at the final goal of developing design patterns specific to SOC design, the reuse of design patterns in SOC systems and the capability of new SOC design patterns are discussed. This paper proposes an outdoor guide system using vision-based augmented reality(AR) on mobile devices.Augmented reality provides a virtual-real fusion display interface for outdoor guide.Vision-based methods are more accurate than GPS or other hardware-based methods.However,vision-based methods require more resources and relatively strong computing power of mobile devices.A C/S framework for vision based augmented reality system is introduced in this paper.In a server,a vocabulary tree is used for location recognition.In a mobile device,BRISK feature is combined with optical flow methods to track the offline keyframe.The system is tested on UKbench datasets and in real environment.Experimental results show that the proposed vision-based augmented reality system works well and yields relatively high recognition rate and that the mobile device achieves realtime recognition performance. 展开更多

Contour Laser Guiding for the Mechanized "Vallerani" Micro-catchment Water Harvesting Systems

Mechanized construction of micro-catchments for water harvesting (WH) was successfully tested in the Badia (dry rangeland) areas in Syria and Jordan, using the "Vallerani" plow, model Delfino (50 MI/CM), manufactured by Nardi, Italy. The plow was able to construct intermittent and continuous contour ridges, and could potentially be used to rehabilitate degraded rangelands. However, one major issue for large-scale implementation is the high cost and time required to manually identify contours for the plow to follow. Most existing auto-guiding systems, as usually used in road construction and agricultural land leveling, were expensive or impractical. The objective, therefore, was to add, adapt, and evaluate an auto-guiding system to enable a tractor to follow contours without demarcation through conventional surveying. A low-cost Contour Laser Guiding (CLG) system, with specifications that suit the contour ridging in undulating topographic conditions of dry rangelands, was chosen, adapted, mounted, and tested, under actual field conditions. The system consisted mainly of a portable laser transmitter and a tractor-mounted receiver, connected to a guidance display panel. The system was field-tested on 95 ha of land where the system capacity was determined under different terrains, slopes (1-8%), and ridge spacings (4-12 m). The easy adaptation and implementation of the CLG to the "Vallerani" unit tripled the system capacity, improved efficiency and precision, and substantially reduced the cost of constructing micro-catchments for WH. The system is recommended for large-scale rangeland rehabilitation projects in the dry areas, not only in West Asia, but worldwide. 展开更多

An excellent agreement is obtained withthe theoretical predictions based on the nonlinear Schrddinger equation.
