In addition, the adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms were recorded and the results were analyzed to investigate reparative adsorption for Cr(VI) from the polluted Xiangjiang River water. A comparative X-ray analysis shows that the degree of crystallization in the imprinted polymer was significantly weakened, the area of the non-crystalline region was larger. There were more adsorption sites in the imprinted polymer, and the adsorption capacity towards Cr(VI) was increased. The adsorption capacity of the imprinted polymer towards Cr(VI) increased with time and reaches saturation after 8 h. The optimal adsorption time was 4-8 h after the adsorption starting and the optimal pH value for the solution was in the range of 4.5-7.5. When the chitosan reaches saturation, the adsorption capacity achieves a state of equilibrium, and the maximum Cr(VI) extraction rate reaches 33.7%. Moreover, the adsorption capacity of the imprinted polymer towards Cr(VI) increases with increasing chitosan concentration. In this situation, the Cr(VI) extraction rate shows little variation, and the maximum removal rate can reach 98.3%. Furthermore, the Cr(VI) extraction rate increases with an increase in the degree of deacetylation in the chatoyant and chitosan, with the best adsorption effect corresponding to 90% deacetylation. Fitting the adsorption data to the quasi first- and second-order kinetic models yields correlation coefficients of 0.9013 and 0.9875, respectively. The corresponding rate constants for the two models are 0.0091 min-1 and 7.129 g/(mg.min), respectively. Hence, the adsorption using Cr(VI)-imprinted chitosan is more consistent with the second-order kinetics. Comparing the data to Freundlich and Langrnuir adsorption isotherms shows that the latter has a better linear fit and a maximum adsorption capacity of 15.784 mg/g.展开更多

In the present study, we investigated its ad- sorption performance and its adsorption mechanism. The adsorption isotherm for fluoride onto lanthanum alginate b ead fits the Langmuir model well, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 197.2 mg·g-1. X-ray diffraction shows the amorphous nature of lanthanum alginate bead, which allows for better accessibility to fluoride and thus better activity. Infrared spectra of lanthanum alginate bead before and after adsorption confirm its stable skeletal structure. Scanning electron microscopy shows that the dense surface structure of the adsorbent appear cracks after adsorption. T he adsorption mechanism of lanthanum alginate bead is considered as an ion exchange between F- and Cl- or OH-, as verified from the adsorbent and the solution by pH effect, energy dispersive X-ray, and ion chromatography.展开更多

The present research shows that the ability of Ni to bind to peat increases as the pH value increases. The solutions reach adsorption equilibrium rapidly. A reasonable kinetic model, first-order in nickel concentration, has been developed and fitted to the adsorption of nickel (Ⅱ) onto peat. The first-order model provides a good correlation to the experimental data. The characteristic parameters of the Langmuir isotherm were determined at various temperatures. The relationship between kinetics and equilibrium isotherms was established through the forward- and backward-rate-constants, k~ and k2, and the equilibrium constant, K.展开更多

The maximum adsorption capacities of Cd^2+ were obtained at pH 6.0 for the intact P. sirnplicissimurn and at pH 5.0 for the RL-pretreated P. simplicissimum, respectively. The adsorption equilibrium was reached after about 4 h. The experimental adsorption isotherms were in good agreement with the Langmuir model. The maximum adsorption capacities (qmax) for the intact P. simplicissimurn and for the RL-pretreated P. simplicissimum were 51.6 and 70.4 rag/g, respectively. The interactions between Cd^2+ and functional groups on the cell wall surface of the P. simplicissimum were identified by SEM, EDAX and FTIR analysis. It is indicated that carboxyl, amino and hydroxyl groups play major roles in the Cd^2+ adsorption. The results suggest that the RL-pretreated P. simplicissimum is a promising candidate for the removal of Cd^2+ from aqueous solutions.展开更多

A novel ventilator(SC ventilator) is proposed with an automatic secretion clearance function in order to provide a new approach. A mathematical model of a ventilation system with the SC ventilator is set up to optimize the SC ventilator. Based on the research, conclusion can be reached as follows. First, the experimental results and the mathematical model are proved to be authentic and reliable. Second, the secretion clearance efficiency of the SC ventilator may be higher than that of IL-IE device. Finally, increasing the inspiratory positive airway pressure or decreasing the expiatory positive airway pressure of the SC ventilator can improve the efficiency of the secretion clearance. This paper lays a foundation for the secretion clearance improvement of the SC ventilator.展开更多
