The respective findings indicate similar functional properties: it is an inclination compass that works only within a functional window around the ambient magnetic field intensity; it tends to be lateralized in favor of the fight eye, and it is wavelength-dependent, requiring light from the short-wavelength range of the spectrum. The underlying physical mechanisms have been identified as radical pair processes, spin-chemical reactions in specialized photopigments. The iron-based receptors in the upper beak do not seem to be involved. The existence of the same type of magnetic compass in only very distantly related bird species suggests that it may have been present already in the common ancestors of all modem birds, where it evolved as an all-purpose compass mechanism for orientation within the home range [Current Zoology 56 (3): 265-276, 2010].展开更多

Branched continued fractions with not equivalent variables are an analog of the regular C-fractions for multiple power series. We consider 1-periodic branched continued fraction of the special form which is an analog fraction with not equivalent variables if the values of that variables are fixed. We establish an analog of the parabola theorem for that fraction and estimate truncation error bounds for that fractions at some restrictions. We also propose to use weight coefficients for obtaining different parabolic regions for the same fraction without any additional restriction for first element.展开更多

This requires the technology transfer process to be regulated as the part of pharmaceutical quality system and the following development of corresponding written procedures. The following publication is dedicated to the development of TTP (technology transfer process) and its accessible graphic formalisation alongside the definition of main stages and possible procedures limited by the offered model. According to the actualized GMP rules, the technology transfer is an essential part of pharmaceutical quality system at a modem pharmaceutical company.展开更多

To test the effectiveness of application of GS method on Pc5 compressional wave, we benchmarked our procedure by applying it to a one-dimensional current sheet model first. Excluding the left-hand corners, the average error magnitude was less than 10%. The reconstruction of actual data showed that we obtained the 2-D map of compressional wave without suffering model constraints for the first time. The magnetic filed lines density cyclical changed, and the wavelength was about 2-4 times earth radius. The reconstructed magnetic topology had a shape very similar to the empirical 2-dimensional standing wave model proposed by the former workers. Besides, we also recovered the plasma thermal pressure and current density of the wave quantitatively.展开更多

FEM/BEM is used to calculate the exact field distributions of forward and backward surface acoustic waves within a finite-length periodic grating at every frequency. The middle compo- nent of the grating, regarded as a periodic structure, is selected to be investigated which can satisfy the presupposition of the COM model. From these field distributions, the values of P-matrix elements of one cell are calculated. The COM parameters taken as functions of frequency are accurately obtained. Specifically, the frequency-dependent relationships of reflection coefficient and propagation velocity are obtained independently. Using the resultant COM parameters, a one-port resonator on the substrate of 128°YX-LiNbO3 is simulated and the admittance curve shows good agreement with the simulating results using FEM/BEM. These results verify the validity and accuracy of this method.展开更多

文摘Herein we extract all the frequency-dependent coupling-of-modes (COM) parameters, which will be used to the rapid simulation and optimal design of surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices.
